Abstract

Increasing electricity demand in South Bali requires a reliable electrical system. Reliable electrical systems can be achieved in various ways, one of which is the replacement of high voltage overhead line to high voltage underground cable. The replacement high voltage overhead line to high voltage underground cable requires adjustment of the protection system. The previous main protection system used in high voltage overhead line is distance relay, while the protection system for the new transmission network is line current differential relay. The purpose of this study is to analyze GIS Pesanggaran to GI Nusa Dua transmission line?s protection system. The covered in this analysis is to power flow analysis simulation, 3 phase short circuit simulation, relays setting calculation and testing the relays setting.The power flow simulation showed that the current at peak load from GIS Pesanggaran to GI Nusa Dua is 337 A. The 3 phase short circuit simulation showed that the largest short circuit, if a fault occurs on the GI Nusa Dua of 9.54 kA. The relays setting calcullation showed that of 0,2 A with 20 % slope for Is1 and 2 A with 150% slope for Is2. The results showed that the relays setting has worked properly.

Abstract

PT. Indonesia Power unit Pesanggaran is one of the power generation companies in Bali, which has also participated in the development of renewable energy by installing solar PV with a capacity of 24 KW. In this research, reviews was conducted to know the condition of the solar PV plant. Review is carried out by conducting observation in the field, reviewing technical data of solar PV components, and also interviews with the staff who operate and maintain the solar PV. Through reviews it was found that the design and installation of solar PV plant is good and follows good practice of solar PV installation for optimum energy production. Due to plant location at GPS coordinate of -8,72, 115,21 therefore the solar module has been installed facing north or azimuth 0o. This module is placed on the roof of Building A, thereby reducing the cost to construct mechanical supports. The solar module was installed with a slope angle of 22o approaching the optimum slope angle. The components of the PV plant are good as they bear international standards. The solar module is CHN240-60P polycrystalline silicon with 60 cells that caccries CE certificate (Conformité Europeenne). Also, the inverter is three units of ABB PVS300-TL-800W-2 with AC output of 8,000 W which are also carries CE certificate and others. The quality of technical specifications of solar PV components and also installation of the plant has direct influence on the energy production of the plant and these have been properly implemented on the 24 KW Indonesia Power solar PV plant.

Abstract

Kajian kuat medan listrik pada konfigurasi horisontal saluran transmisi 150 kV dilakukan untuk menganalisis karakteristik hasil pengukuran kuat medan listrik yang ditimbulkan saluran transmisi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan melakukan perhitungan kuat medan listrik dan melakukan pengukuran langsung di lokasi pengukuran. Perhitungan dan pengukuran kuat medan listrik menggunakan 7 titik yang berada di bawah konduktor saluran transmisi 150 kV. Selanjutnya, dilakukan analisis karakteristik hasil perhitungan dan pengukuran kuat medan listrik. Hasil perhitungan kuat medan listrik tertinggi berada di lokasi 3 sebesar 4040 V/m dan hasil pengukuran tertinggi kuat medan listrik terjadi di lokasi 3 sebesar 5387 V/m. Hasil perhitungan dan pengukuran tertinggi di lokasi ini disebabkan oleh jarak konduktor terhadap tanah lebih dekat dari lokasi yang lain. Karakteristik bentuk hasil perhitungan kuat medan listrik dengan jarak yang sama dari pusat titik perhitungan sama, disebabkan tegangan masing-masing fase tetap. Karakteristik hasil pengukuran kuat medan listrik pada masing-masing titik pengukuran berbeda. Perbedaan karakteristik tersebut disebabkan oleh waktu pengukuran kuat medan listrik di masing-masing titik pengukuran berbeda, sehingga tegangan pada masing-masing fase berubah-ubah.

Abstract

Solar power plants in their application have reached the aviation business. There arealready many airports everywhere that use solar power plants as their electrical energy supply.Airports and airfields have a very high opportunity to accommodate solar technology because ofopen land space. The purpose of this research is to review the advantages or disadvantages ofairports solar power plants and conduct a survey of any airports in the world that already havesolar power plants. This research used data collected from journals, articles, and news on theinternet. Those data include airports that use solar power plants, solar power plantsestablishment year, airport category, airport location, airport solar power plants capacity, solarpower plants type. Hence, the review describes the advantages and disadvantages of PLTSand its specific site everywhere. The results show that 192 airports already use PLTS as anelectrical energy supplier. The Asian continent has 43 airports, and there are 5 airports solarpower plants in Indonesia. Most of the solar power plant uses an on-grid system

Abstract

The power plant with renewable energy sources is needed to reduce the pollution. One of this kind is in Bali, that is PLTSa (Garbage Power Plant) Suwung. However, PLTSa Suwung is no longer operating for now. PLTSa Suwung is connected with Serangan feeder, this connection named Distributed Generation. When PLTSa Suwung doesn’t operate, it will affect the Serangan feeder’s voltage profile. The change of voltage profile will be analyzed with EDSA Technical 2000 Service Pack 3.5 software. The research will give five scenarios with different electrical power supply from each scenario. The gap of the voltage profile between scenario 1 (100% power supply from PLTSa) and scenario 5 (0% power suplly from PLTSa) is 0,0079% for medium voltage bus and 0,0062% for low voltage bus. This small gap shows that the connected PLTSa Suwung doesn’t give effect to voltage profile of Serangan feeder.

Abstract

Rugi energi terjadi jika jumlah energi yang disalurkan tidak sama dengan energi yang diterima oleh konsumen tenaga listrik. Rugi energi merupakan salah satu parameter kualitas jaringan listrik. Rugi energi yang tinggi pada jaringan dapat mengakibatkan pula rugi tegangan yang tinggi, sehingga tegangan pelayanan menjadi turun. Menurut SPLN 1, 1995 tegangan pelayanan maksimum adalah +5 % dan minimun -10 % terhadap tegangan nominal. Salah satu cara untuk menurunkan rugi energi yang dilaksanakan oleh PT PLN (Persero) adalah dengan mengganti tap connector tiap sambungan jaringan tegangan rendah dengan connector type press. Penelitian ini menganalisis besarnya rugi energi yang terjadi sebelum penggantian dan setelah penggantian connector. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dengan dilaksanakannya penggantian tap connector, maka rugi energi pada jaringan tegangan rendah yang terhubung pada transformator DS105 dapat diturunkan sebesar 63,4327 Wh atau sebesar 23,2448%. Dengan kata lain, rugi energi dapat diturunkan dari 272,8896 Wh sebelum penggatian tap connector menjadi 209,4569 Wh setelah penggantian tap connector.

Abstract

Menjangan feeder is a medium-voltage network system which distributes electricity throughout Gilimanuk and some areas in Buleleng. It has 69 distribution substations, which one of them, substation GR088, contributes to the highest value of the total harmonic distortion (THDi). In this research, the effect of harmonic distortions on losses at low voltage system of substation GR088 will be evaluated.The method used in this study is direct measurement of harmonic distortions at each low-voltage costumer whose electricity is generated by substation GR088 at Menjangan Feeder. Software is also used to perform harmonic load flow analysis and simulations. The total value of losses on transformer and low voltage system of substation GR088 Menjangan feeder, in a no-harmonic condition is 1481,7 Watt. On under-harmonic condition, the total value of losses is 1552,5 Watt. Therefore there is a 70,8 Watt difference between the two conditions. At this case, beside the heat created by the harmonic distortion that can affect the performance of transformers, it also cause a quite great value of losses, which is 1,7 kWh per day, or approximately 620 kWh per year. It means the harmonic distortion in substation GR088 can cause PT PLN (Persero) lose Rp.910.018,8 per year.

Abstract

The service quality of a hotel is supported by a sustainable supply of electrical energy.Electrical energy at the Novotel Ubud Resort & Suite Bali hotel is supplied from PT. PLN.Source Power plant PT. PLN predominantly uses fossil fuels that are less environmentallyfriendly. The solution to this problem is to use renewable fuels to reduce environmental pollutionand as a source of electrical energy at the Novotel Ubud Resort & Suite Bali hotel. This studyaims to design a rooftop solar power plant at the Novotel Hotel Ubud Resort & Suite Bali. Theresults of the simulation of PLTS electrical energy production using the HOMER application.The feasibility of rooftop solar power plants using the NPV, PI and DPP methods. Based on thedata obtained, the Novotel Ubud Resort & Suite Bali Hotel consists of five flat and pyramidroofedbuildings with a total roof area of 2723 m2. This study uses 576 solar modules with atotal power output of 236.16 kWp and uses 3 inverters with a capacity of 80 kW. The results ofthe HOMER simulation show that the annual electrical energy production from PLTS is 377,083kWh. From the feasibility of PLTS has an NPV value of Rp. 633,125,923, the PI value is 1.25and the DPP value is 13.8 years. The results of this design can be said to be feasible becausethe NPV value is positive and is able to reverse the initial cost of PLTS for 13.8 years from theassumption for 25 years.

Abstract

The need for electricity that is growing rapidly on the island of Bali, makes PT PLN (Persero)seek strategic steps in serving customers. Gilimanuk - Negara - Antosari Reconductoring SUTT150 kV is one of the efforts made by PT PLN (Persero) to improve the reliability of the BaliElectricity System which is used to overcome power evacuation problems in the future.Reconductoring goes through a one-month trip phase in each circuit. For this reason, a study isneeded to identify the electricity system readiness by using a power flow analysis simulatorapplication.The simulation is done by extinguishing each of the 150 kV conductors in the BaliElectricity System alternately by taking into account four scenario namely before conducting areconductor, reconductor circuit 1, reconductor circuit 2, and after reconductor. Voltagerecording is carried out on each bus with a tolerance of + 5% Vnom, recording of the load iscarried out on each active 150 kV conductor with a maximum capacity of 80% Inom. The resultsof the simulation show that the anomaly is only obtained when the simulation of circuit 1reconductor works if SUTT 150 kV Gilimanuk - Celukan Onion trip, causing a load exceeding80% Inom on SUTT 150 kV Gilimanuk - Pemaron and SUTT Gilimanuk - Negara - Antosari 2.

Abstract

Transformer failure may interrupt the electrical power delivery and causing a very highcost to the utility. In order to prevent failure in the transformer, continuous condition monitoringof a power transformer is necessary. Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) has been well knownmethod for transformer condition monitoring. A number of techniques have been developed inorder to assist engineers in interpreting the DGA test results. In this research, interpretation ofDGA test results using Fuzzy Logic approach based on Duval's Triangle is introduced. TheFuzzy Logic was developed based on the mapping of the different areas within the DuvalTriangle. The program validation was carried out by comparing the output program with thesimulated fault condition. The analysis results indicated that the introduced approach hassuccessfully determined the condition of the tested transformers. This approach, thus, wouldprovide advantages over the conventional method in determining the transformer condition.
