Abstract

In this journal, an analysis is carried out on the use of livestock manure for use as a biogas power plant in Bali Province. The purpose of this analysis is to find out how much potential electrical energy can be obtained from livestock manure to be developed into a biogas power plant in Bali Province. 8 types of livestock are used as analysis material including cattle, buffalo, goats, horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks. Livestock population data in Bali Province from 2013 to 2017 listed in the Livestock and Animal Health Statistics book obtained from the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Health (Ministry of Agriculture), is used as the base year of analysis to obtain the average value of the population level of each types of farm animals. The analysis of the total potential of electrical energy is done by calculating the total mass of manure per day, the percentage of dry matter content of each type of manure as well as the biogas that can be produced from each type of livestock according to the standards of the Ministry of Agriculture. The total potential of electrical energy can be obtained from the total amount of biogas produced, where 1 m3 of biogas can be converted into electrical energy of 4,7 kWh. Based on the results of the analysis conducted, the total biogas that can be produced is 246.130,81 m3 of biogas, or if it is converted into electrical energy equivalent to 1.156.814,81 kWh/day or around 1,16 GWh/day from the average total population livestock in Bali Province are 19.183.779 livestock.

Abstract

The cleanliness of the solar panels is one of the factors that affect the energyproduction of a solar power plant. Solar panel cleaning is a solution to keep solar panels cleanso that energy production can be optimal. This article reviews research developments andcommercial products for solar panel cleaning, with the result showing various applicabletechniques and commercial products for solar panel cleaning purposes. There are two distincttechniques used in solar panel cleaning, manual and automatic. The manual cleaning method isa method that conducts any action to operate the system manually by humans. The automaticcleaning method is a method that is controlled directly by the system without the need forhuman interference. Commercial solar panel cleaning products include telescopic polesequipped with brushes and water pumps, a robot that is permanently attached to the solar panelsupport construction equipped with dry clean and water clean methods, a robot with portablesystems using long roller brushes, a convenient robot which has a remote vacuum cleanersystem, to a mobile cleaning system using a robotic arm.

Abstract

Increasing electricity demand in South Bali requires a reliable electrical system. Reliableelectrical systems can be achieved in various ways, one of which is the replacement of highvoltage overhead line to high voltage underground cable. The replacement high voltageoverhead line to high voltage underground cable requires adjustment of the protection system.The previous main protection system used in high voltage overhead line is distance relay, whilethe protection system for the new transmission network is line current differential relay. Thepurpose of this study is to analyze GIS Pesanggaran to GI Nusa Dua transmission line’sprotection system. The covered in this analysis is to power flow analysis simulation, 3 phaseshort circuit simulation, relays setting calculation and testing the relays setting.The power flowsimulation showed that the current at peak load from GIS Pesanggaran to GI Nusa Dua is 337A. The 3 phase short circuit simulation showed that the largest short circuit, if a fault occurs onthe GI Nusa Dua of 9.54 kA. The relays setting calcullation showed that of 0,2 A with 20 %slope for Is1 and 2 A with 150% slope for Is2. The results showed that the relays setting hasworked properly.

Abstract

Fossil-fueled power plants are still the world’s backbone in terms of electricitygeneration, including in Indonesia. This will continue to increase due to the high demand ofelectricity. Meanwhile, the amount of fossil fuels is limited and fossil fuel creates exhaustemissions. Therefore, it is required to look for clean and renewable electricity generationmethods. The development of Diesel Gasifier Power Plant carried out by PT Indonesia PowerBali aims to reduce the use of diesel by using syngas obtained from gasification of biomasspellets. This study analyzes the performance of the Diesel Gasifier Power Plant at PT IndonesiaPower Bali. The results show that the use of syngas reduces the use of diesel, this is indicatedby the fuel consumption ratio between diesel and syngas, which is 56% diesel and 44% syngas.The results also show that the Diesel Gasifier Power Plant has an efficiency of 63% and acapacity factor of 58%.

Abstract

Jatiluwih feeder is a primary 20 kV distribution network with a peak demand of 1.85 MW. The feeder has a radial configuration with a length of 120 kmc. The extended length of the feeder causes a high voltage drop and power loss. One strategy to reduce voltage drop and power loss is by the installation of distributed generation (DG). The energy resource of the DG usually adopts local available renewable energy resources, such as solar power and hydro power. This paper discusses voltage profile and power loss due to the installation of DG on the distribution network. The analysis covered survey of the available renewable energy resources and power flow simulation. Power flow simulation was carried out in two scenarios, before and after the installation of DG. The simulation results showed that during peak daytime load, DG installation is able to reduce maximum voltage drop by 2,08 %, and increases the voltage from 344,4 V to 352,7 V. Besides that, the installation of DG is able to reduce the total power loss by 9,43 % or as much as 530 kW.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of changes in temperature, water content, andelectrode gap on the breakdown voltage of transformer oil. The transformer oil used in this studywas Shell Diala-B and Nynas oil. Testing the effect of temperature was carried out attemperature variation of 280 C to 810 C, the effect of water content was carried out withvariations ranging from 11 ppm to 31 ppm, and the effect of electrode gap was carried out invariation ranges between 1.2 mm to 2.5 mm. Breakdown voltage testing method useshemispherical electrodes according to IEC 60156 standard of 1995. The results of the studyshow that the higher the temperature, the higher the breakdown voltage of transformer oil. Thehighest breakdown voltage in Nynas oil occurs when the temperature is 810 C which is equal to59.27 kV. The results also show that the higher the water content, the breakdown voltage islower. The highest breakdown voltage in Shell Diala-B oil occurs with a water content of 11 ppmwhich is equal to 61.35 kV. Also the greater the electrode gap, the greater the breakdownvoltage. The highest breakdown voltage in Nynas oil occurs with the gap of electrode 2.5 mmwhich is equal to 60.02 kV.

Abstract

Dalam mengatasi kondisi overload generator saat terjadi gangguan yang menyebabkan ketidak stabilan, PT. Pertamina RU IV mengandalkan kerja load shedding berdasarkan SOP yang telah ditetapkan. Namun dalam pelaksanaannya prosedur SOP yang diberlakukan memiliki beberapa kekurangan, diantaranya adalah belum sesuai dengan standar IEEE yang berlaku global, waktu untuk menstabilkan kembali sistem cukup lama, serta seringkali terjadi pelepasan beban yang sebenarnya tidak perlu. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan studi terhadap kestabilan sistem dan load shedding yang diberlakukan dengan menggunakan standar IEEE sebagai acuan. Hasil studi menunjukkan, penggunaan load shedding IEEE untuk mengatasi masalah kestabilan sistem di PT. Pertamina RU IV lebih efektif, hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil pengujian kestabilan sistem dimana prosedur load shedding IEEE berhasil menstabilkan kembali frekuensi sistem menjadi 99,85% dalam waktu 23 detik, 98,5% dalam waktu 8 detik, 99,16% dalam waktu 40 detik menjadi 98,48% dalam waktu 70 detik pada 4 studi kasus yang dilakukan.

Abstract

Target capacity of Solar Power Plant in Province of South Sumatra is pursued throughthe construction of a rooftop PV mini-grid system with off-grid and on-grid systems. Based onNational Energy General Plan (RUEN) in 2017, Province of South Sumatra has the third largestsolar power potential on a national scale with a target of Solar Power Plant developmentreaching 296.6 MW in 2025. Province of South Sumatra is the second most populous provinceon Sumatra Island with electricity consumption reaching 5,308 GWh in 2020. This study tries toanalyze the development of Solar Power Plant in Province of South Sumatra based on theliterature review. Solar Power Plant that has been installed until 2021 reached 12.441 MW oraround 4.12% of the South Sumatra RUEN target of 296.6 MW in 2025. The types of SolarPower Plant applications in Province of South Sumatra consist schools, hotels, palm oilfactories, irrigation pumps , and utility networks spread across Palembang, Muara EnimRegency, Muara Rawas Regency, and Ogan Hilir Regency

Abstract

Four Season Jimbaran Hotel is one of the hotels in Bali using a cooling system which isusually called the water chiller. The electrical energy consumption in Four Season Hotel is oneof the factors that increase the use of electrical energy in which the star delta system is stillused to switch on the pump. Along with the electricity rate which keeps increasing every year,the electrical energy consumption in Four Season Hotel can increase the operational cost. It isconcluded that one of the largest electrical energy consumptions is water chiller pump. Chillerpump is a pump used for pushing water flow towards chiller condenser and Air Handling Unit(AHU) when the water chiller system is still active. Starters of the chiller pump used in FourSeason Jimbaran Hotel are inverter and star delta. The method used in conducting research was calculation of the electrical energy requirement and cost in two pumps set by star delta atan initial frequency of 50Hz in water chiller pump 160 TR, compared with inverter system withthe decrease of frequency by 5Hz (45Hz) in water chiller pump 230 TR. Monitoring wasperformed by analyzing the consumption of electrical energy (kWh), temperature (°C), andhumidity (%) in every pump set by every system. In these two pumps, energy consumption(kWh) and cost were compared in daily, weekly, and monthly needs. From the result ofresearch, in inverter system, the frequency reduction by 5Hz in water chiller pump 230 TR cansave electrical energy of 117,120 kWh and the cost of IDR 130,471,680 in the next five years.The comparison analysis of operation of the chiller pump supplied with star delta (fixed speeddrive) with an inverter (variable speed drive) has a difference energy consumption of 117,120kWh in both systems and the difference cost is Rp. 130,471,680.00 in next 5 years.

Abstract

The importance of monitoring the temperature of the motor bearing on the water circulation pump on a regular basis to prevent pump operation failures due to bearing. The operator monitors the temperature bearing manually using a Flir measuring instrument with potential hazards in the work area namely slipping, falling and electrocution. On this basis, IoT based bearing monitoring system for circulation water pump in real time is very necessary.The design of this prototype uses hardware such as ESP32 microcontroller and MLX90614-BCC sensor, while the software used are blynk and google spreadsheet. The MLX90614-BCC sensor calibration uses a linear regression method to adjust the sensor value to the Flir TG167 so as to minimize deviations in temperature readings.The results of this prototype are able to read temperature bearing well which are integrated with the blynk on smartphones by displaying temperature values in the form of numbers and graphs and also equipped with a notification. The prototype that was built had an average measurement deviation of 0.32% on the DE sensor and 0.3% on the NDE sensor. Storage of temperature data on google spreadsheet with the amount of data that can be stored as much as 1,666,666 data. The conclusion of the research is that it has succeeded in designing and manufacturing a prototype IoT based bearing monitoring system for circulation water pump. Testing the performance of the prototype can work well. The results of the prototype test on bearing for the water circulation pump showed that DE and NDE bearing temperatures were still below 55 °C and there was no notification on the smartphone which indicates the motor bearing is still in normal condition.
