Abstract

Water pumpkin (Lagenaria siceraria) is a vegetable that contains secondary metabolites that are beneficial to health. Its use as a vegetable is less attractive to the people so that to increase its utilization, dosage forms are made that can attract public interest, one of which is effervescent granules. Effervescent granules are the most popular dosage form because they can serve in fresh drinks. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of acids (citric acid-tartaric acid) and base (sodium bicarbonate) on the physical properties of the formula. The water pumpkin effervescent granules made with various ratios of citric acid, tartaric acid, and sodium bicarbonate consisting of FI (2: 1: 2.5); F II (1: 2: 2,5); F III (2: 1: 3,52); F IV (1: 2: 3,44). The granule made by the wet granulation method. The physical properties of the formula included organoleptic, moisture content, flow properties, compressibility index, pH, solubility time, and acceptability test. Based on the results of the evaluation of physical properties, the granule formula of the water pumpkin effervescent meets the standard requirements with a moisture content of 1.26% -2.26%, flow properties from 6.33 to 7.0 seconds, angle of repose 31.14Ëš-33.69 Ëš, compressibility index 13.61% -17.08%, pH 6.1-7.1 and dissolving time 191-223.33 seconds. Variations of citric acid-tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonate affect the physical properties and taste of the effervescent granules. Based on the acceptability test showed that the panelists liked the water pumpkin effervescent granules in FII.

Abstract

 ABSTRAKEkstrak etanol 70% kulit buah pisang Ambon mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan tanin yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan konsentrasi gelling agent terhadap karakteristik fisik gel ekstrak etanol 70% kulit buah pisang Ambon. Sediaan gel antiseptik ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang dibuat dalam 4 formula dengan variasi basis dan konsentrasi basis gel yaitu FI (Na-CMC 5%), FII (Na-CMC 3%), FIII (Tragakan 5%), dan FIV (Tragakan 2,5%) Evaluasi terhadap sediaan dilakukan untuk mengetahui formula optimum yang memenuhi kriteria persyaratan. Evaluasi yang dilakukan meliputi organoleptic, homogenitas, daya sebar, daya lekat, pH dan viskositas. Analisis dilakukan secara statistik menggunakan ANOVA dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% untuk melihat perbedaan antar kelompok formula dan korelasi regresi linier untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan konsentrasi gelling agent terhadap karakteristik gel antiseptik ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang Ambon. Formula optimum diperoleh pada F1 dengan basis gel Na-CMC pada konsentrasi 5% karena memenuhi kriteria syarat gel yang baik.Kata kunci: Kulit pisang Ambon; Antibakteri; Gel antiseptic; Gelling agent; Na-CMC.ABSTRACTEthanol extract of 70% Ambon banana peel contains alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins, which has antibacterial activity. The antiseptic gel formula of banana peel 70% ethanolic extract made in 4 formulas with variations in type and concentration gelling agent, namely FI (Na-CMC 5%), FII (Na-CMC 3%), FIII (Tragakan 5%), and FIV (Tragakan 2,5%). Evaluation of the formulas done to find out the best formula that meets the requirements criteria. The evaluations included organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, pH, and viscosity. The analysis performed statistically using ANOVA with a confidence level of 95% to see differences between groups of formulas and linear regression correlation to determine the effect of type and concentration of gelling agent on the characteristics of the antiseptic gel of Ambon banana peel. The optimum formula is obtained on F1 based on Na-CMC of 5% because it meets the criteria for gel requirements.Key word: Ambon banana peel; Antibacteria; Antiseptic gel; Gelling agent;Na-CMC.

Abstract

Hand sanitizer gel is a practical preparation method for hand sanitizers. Repeated use of hand sanitizers with chemical antiseptics can cause irritation and dry skin, so natural antiseptics could be used as an alternative to overcome these problems. Akar Kuning contains berberine alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids, which possess antibacterial properties. This study aims to develop a gel hand sanitizer for Akar Kuning with various gelling agents. Evaluation of the formula included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, hedonic test, and freeze-thaw stability. The effectiveness of the gel preparation was measured using the replica method. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Akar Kuning contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and terpenoids. Based on the ANOVA analysis (sig < 0.05), there were significant differences in the characteristics of gel hand sanitizers. The stability test showed that formula one and formula. Three formulas were stable based on the analysis of the paired sample t-test. The optimal formula for hand sanitizer gel with 80% ethanol extract of Akar Kuning is formula one, which has an effect of 40.33% to reduce the number of bacteria.

Abstract

Pemaparan sinar ultraviolet dari matahari dapat menimbulkan efek seperti eritema, pigmentasi, fotosensitivitas serta penuaan dini. Daun tanjung (Mimusops elengi Linn.) diketahui memiliki khasiat sebagai antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 10,6 ppm, sehingga dapat dikembangkan menjadi sediaan lotion tabir surya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan skrining fitokimia dan menentukan nilai sun protecting factor dari sediaan. Skrining fitokimia dilakukan secara kualitatif terhadap senyawa metabolite skunder dan penentuan nilai SPF secara in Vitro menggunakan Spektofotomer UV Vis.  Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan ekstrak daun Tanjung mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, steroid dan tannin. Nilai SPF optimal diperoleh pada formula 6 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun tanjung sebesar 0,5 g dan dihasilkan nilai SPF sebesar 24,5455 yang termasuk ke dalam katagori proteksi ultra. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol 96% daun tanjung yang digunakan terhadap efektivitas tabir surya.

Abstract

One of the components that make up essential oils is phenolic compounds which are widely containedin the leaves and bark of the Balik Angin plant (Alphitonia incana (Roxb.) Teijsm. & Binn. ex Kurz).This study aimed to identify phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of essential oils from thebark of the Balik Angin plant. The essential oils isolation using hydrodistillation and the compoundswere analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). Qualitatively antioxidantactivity test used thin layer chromatography (TLC) and quantitatively by measuring the absorbance of2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals residue that did not react against compounds reducer.The results showed the essential oils contain major compounds which are methyl salicylate followedby methyl palmitate, 2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione, and methyl 12-acetoxyoleate. Qualitativetest results of antioxidant activity with TLC there were four yellow spots on a purple background. Thescavenging activity showed the essential oils had an IC50 of 229.056 ppm, while the gallic acid as acomparative standard obtained an IC50 of 0.618 ppm. The conclusion is the essential oils of BalikAngin bark that produces very weak antioxidant activity.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Prevalensi gizi kurang dan gizi buruk di Indonesia sebesar 17,7%. Balita yang menderita KEP sering disertai defisiensi zat gizi mikro seperti vitamin A. Tujuan Pengabdian ini adalah pencegahan Kekurangan Vitamin A (KVA) melalui subtitusi tepung ubi jalar orange. Metode Pengabdian dilakukan dengan penyuluhan kandungan gizi ubi orange dan pendampingan pengolahan tepung ubi jalar orange. Pengabdian di Wilayah Kerja Kelurahan Sungai Tiung pada bulan Desember 2022 dengan jumlah 15 responden berjalan dengan lancar. Hasil dalam pengabdian masyarakat yaitu tambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengolahan tepung ubi jalar orange. Perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian lanjutan tentang pemanfaatan tepung ubi jalar orange pada beberapa produk pangan lainnya yang bersumber dari bahan lokal. Kata Kunci: KVA, Pendampingan, Ubi Jalar Orange  ABSTRACT The prevalence of malnutrition and malnutrition in Indonesia is 17.7%. Toddlers who suffer from protein energy deficiency are often accompanied by deficiencies of micronutrients such as vitamin A. The aim of this service is to prevent vitamin A deficiency (VAD) through substitution of orange sweet potato flour. The service method is carried out by counseling the nutritional content of orange sweet potato and assisting in the processing of orange sweet potato flour. The service in the Sungai Tiung Village Working Area in December 2022 with a total of 15 respondents went smoothly. The results in community service are additional knowledge and skills in processing orange sweet potato flour. Abstract

Kue Cookies adalah jajanan terbuat dari adonan yang lembut, renyah dan penampang potongannya berpola dalam satu warna (Humairah et al., 2018). Warna ubi orange disebabkan betakaroten bermanfaat sebagai provitamin digunakan untuk anti oksidan meningkatkan kesehatan (Ginting et al., 2006) Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada masyarakat di kelurahan sungai tiung jumlah peserta terdiri dari 20 orang 5 laki-laki dan 15 orang perempuan kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan mengolah panganan ubi lokal untuk menghasilkan produk yaitu ubi Orange (Yuliana et al., 2020). Sosialisasi pada kegiatan di mulai dengan pemaparan tentang manfaat dan bagai mana mengolah produk ubi orange kepada masyarakat kecamatan sungai tiung Kelurahan Sungai Tiung Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan melalui subtitusi tepung ubi jalar orange sebagai bahan dasar makanan pada kelurahan sungai tiung program sosialisasi subtitusi tepung ubi jalar pelatihan pengolahan ubi menjadi varian produk pangan. pelatihan kepada para petani tentang teknik budidaya ubi orange yang baik dan benar serta pemanfaatan hasil panen secara optimal.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Prevalensi stunting di Indonesia sebesar 30,8 %. Stunting disebabkan oleh faktor langsung seperti asupan makanan dan penyakit infeksi serta faktor tidak langsung seperti faktor sosial, ekonomi, budaya dan politik. Kegiatan yang diupayakan pemerintah untuk perbaikan gizi untuk pencegahan stunting adalah Pemberian Makanan Pendamping ASI (MP-ASI). Pemberian Makanan Pendamping ASI (MP-ASI) tidak terlepas dari pengetahuan orangtua terutama ibu dalam pengolahanya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pendampingan kepada masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan pengolahan MP-ASI yang terbuat dari bahan pangan lokal daun kelor dan ubi jalar orange sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah penyuluhan dan Pelatihan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan yaitu sejak bulan Agustus sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2023 dengan jumlah responden 26 orang terdiri dari kader posyandu, ibu hamil, ibu menyusui, ibu yang memiliki bayi dan balita. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan responden mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dari mayoritas pengetahuan cukup menjadi pengetahuan baik. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dengan melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi selama 1000 HPK agar dapat mempercepat penurunan stunting di Desa Mekar Sari Kecamatan Tatah Makmur Kabupaten Banjar. Kata Kunci: Stunting, Daun Kelor, Ubi Jalar Orange, Perempuan Berdaya  ABSTRACT The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is 30.8%. Stunting is caused by direct factors such as food intake and infectious diseases as well as indirect factors such as social, economic, cultural and political factors. The activity that the government is trying to improve nutrition to prevent stunting is the provision of complementary foods for breast milk (MP-ASI). Providing Complementary Food for Breast Milk (MP-ASI) cannot be separated from the knowledge of parents, especially mothers, in processing it. This activity aims to provide assistance to the community through counseling and training on processing MP-ASI made from local food ingredients Moringa leaves and orange sweet potatoes as an effort to prevent stunting. The methods used in community service activities are counseling and training. The activity was carried out for 3 months, namely from August to October 2023 with a total of 26 respondents consisting of posyandu cadres, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, mothers with babies and toddlers. The results of community service show that respondents experienced an increase in knowledge from the majority having sufficient knowledge to good knowledge. It is hoped that this activity can be carried out sustainably by carrying out monitoring and evaluation for 1000 HPK in order to accelerate the reduction of stunting in Mekar Sari Village, Tatah Makmur District, Banjar Regency. Keyword: Stunting, Moringa Leaves, Orange Sweet Potatoes, Empowered  Women

Abstract

Ethanol extract of Pandanus amaryllifolius leaves contains quercetin has anti-inflammatory properties. The gel dosage form is very appropriate for wound healing therapy because it gives a cold sensation to the skin. This study aims to formulate a P. amaryllifolius gel by variation of a gelling agent to compare the effect of a natural gelling agent, semi-synthetic gelling agent, and synthetic gelling agent on the physical characteristics of the gel. The gel formulation was made in three formulas. Evaluations include organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, pH, and viscosity. The optimum gel formula was tested for release study using a dissolution apparatus 5. Determination of release kinetics model using the kinetics approach of zero-order, first-order, Higuchi, and Korsmeyer-Peppas. The organoleptic shows the gel's dark green color, P. amaryllifolius aromas, and good homogeneity. The gel formulas had pH values that matched the physical quality criteria of the gel. Data obtained for the spreadability test for F1, F2, and F3 were 12.16, 14.66, and 10.75 g.cm/sec, respectively. The F1, F2, and F3 adhesion test results were 11.66, 10, and 47.33, respectively. The viscosity of F1 was 15750 cps, F2 was 4807 cps, and F3 was 19380 cps. This study concludes that the optimum formula is obtained from the gelling agent of Na-CMC as a gelling agent. The number of quercetins released from F2 was 42.76%, and the release kinetics model followed the kinetics of Higuchi.

Abstract

Kasus kebakaran hutan dan lahan dapat menyebabkan dampak negatif emisi kabut asap sehingga mengakibatkan masalah kesehatan yang serius seperti sesak nafas. Puskesmas dapat menjadi pelayanan darurat pasca bencana, akan tetapi dengan jumlahnya yang terbatas, peran kader Posyandu sangat diperlukan dalam membantu mengatasi masalah kesehatan akibat bencana. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk menginisiasi kesiapsiagaan kader posyandu dalam menghadapi bencana kebakaran hutan dan lahan untuk mencegah terjadinya gangguan kesehatan melalui edukasi dan pelatihan penggunaan tabung oksigen sebagai pertolongan pertama pada sesak nafas akibat kabut asap di Desa Benua Raya, Kecamatan Bati-Bati, Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan penggunaan seperangkat tabung oksigen kepada Ibu-ibu kader Posyandu dengan total 14 orang pada tanggal 18 November 2024. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta mengetahui dan memahami dampak terhadap kesehatan serta tindakan yang harus dilakukan dalam membantu permasalahan kesehatan akibat kabut asap. Persentase pengetahuan sebelum kegiatan yaitu 21,43%-57,14% mengalami peningkatan setelah kegiatan menjadi 100%. Tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam penggunaan seperangkat tabung oksigen juga meningkat dari 12,29% menjadi 100%. Kesimpulannya yaitu kegiatan ini dapat menginisiasi Posyandu berbasis kebencanaan untuk meminimalisir tingkat keparahan masalah kesehatan yang diakibatkan oleh kabut asap melalui kompetensi dan keterampilan pertolongan pertama pada sesak nafas menggunakan tabung oksigen.
