Abstract

We expect the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to improve students' learning outcomes through a student-centered approach. However, the varying levels of student comprehension often pose challenges for teachers in creating effective learning. The peer tutoring method can serve as an alternative learning strategy to address this challenge, where more competent students assist their peers who have difficulty understanding the learning material. This study aims to examine the improvement of students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the peer tutoring method in problem-based learning. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of the study were 34 students of class XI ATPH A at SMK Negeri 1 Bawen. Data were collected using interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis method employed was qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed significant improvement in learning outcomes, with the mastery level increasing from 59% in the first cycle to 100% in the second cycle. Students from the less skilled group showed increased courage to ask questions and engage in discussions with their peer tutors, while tutors from the more skilled group experienced reinforced understanding and boosted self-confidence. These results indicate that the integration of the peer tutoring method in problem-based learning is not only effective in improving learning outcomes but also facilitates collaboration and social interaction among students, creating an inclusive learning environment.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the essential 21st-century skills to support students in facing the increasingly complex challenges of the workforce. However, vocational education often focuses on mastering technical competencies, which leads to the neglect of critical thinking skill development. The discovery learning model enables students to construct independent knowledge through active and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the level of critical thinking skills of Agribusiness Crop and Horticulture (ATPH) students at SMK Negeri 1 Bawen during agribusiness learning using the discovery learning model. The research was conducted in class XI ATPH B using a descriptive quantitative method. Data were collected through student worksheets and observation sheets, which were analyzed based on critical thinking indicators, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, conclusion drawing, explanation, and self-regulation. The results showed that the student's critical thinking skills were categorized as good, with an average score of 65.91. However, the indicators of analysis and explanation were rated as sufficient, indicating the need for greater integration of critical thinking-based learning models into educational activities.

Abstract

The rapid development of the 21st century demands work skills that must be possessed by superior Indonesian humans, but the facts on the ground show that these work skills are not widely possessed by students. This is reinforced by data from observations made at SMK Negeri 1 Bawen which shows that students who do not understand proper agricultural cultivation techniques even though learning has been carried out at the previous meeting. This condition is also evident from the results of cognitive scores which show 50% of students have not completed or 31 out of 62 students have not met the completeness criteria (KKM) of 75. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of work skills of students of SMK Negeri 1 Bawen through the Project Based Learning model. Descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. The data of this study were obtained from the observation sheet of project-based assessment of work performance by students using work skills indicators. The results showed that the work skills of students in class X ATP (Agribusiness of Plantation Crops) had an average of 74.5 with a good category. In conclusion, the application of Project Based Learning can measure the work skills of students at SMK Negeri 1 Bawen.

Abstract

Keterampilan kolaborasi dan kreativitas adalah salah satu keterampilan abad 21 yang penting dimiliki oleh peserta didik di masa mendatang, Berdasarkan hasil observasi di kelas X.10, ditemukan bahwa peserta didik kurang dalam tingkat kolaborasi sesama teman, sehingga perlu ditingkatkan. Kreativitas merupakan kemampuan untuk menciptakan sesuatu yang baru dalam menumbuhkan ide atau mengatasi permasalahan, dalam kurikulum merdeka berpikir kreatif menjadi salah satu solusi dalam pemecahan masalah dan mengembangkan daya imajinasi menjadi sebuah ide kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan kolaborasi dan kreativitas peserta didik pada materi virus dengan model PjBL di SMA N 2 Semarang. Penelitian ini merupakan PTK Kolaboratif yang terdiri dari 2 siklus, setiap siklus 2 pertemuan. Setiap siklus melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian dilakukan bulan Agustus-September 2023, subjek kelas X.10 sejumlah 36 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi kelas, serta untuk mengukur keterampilan kolaborasi dan kreativitas dengan lembar observasi 2 siklus serta dokumentasi. Model PJBL digunakan sebagai pendekatan utama dalam mengembangkan keterampilan kolaborasi dan kreativitas. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif, diperoleh nilai rata-rata keterampilan kolaborasi siklus 1 sebesar 52,31% kategori rendah dan meningkat pada siklus 2 sebesar 85,34% kategori sangat tinggi. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan kreativitas siklus 1 sebesar 63,89% kategori sedang dan mengalami peningkatan di siklus 2 sebesar 86,42% kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan kolaborasi maupun kreativitas peserta didik SMAN 2 Semarang dengan kategori sangat tinggi.

Abstract

Orchids are ornamental plants that are very popular with the public and consist of many types of orchids. The aim of this research is to find out how various types of planting media influence the growth of dendrobium orchids. This study was conducted for three months, from May to July 2023. The research used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of three different types of planting media, namely: M1 (kadaka roots); M2 (wood charcoal); and M3 (Sphagnum moss). Data analysis was carried out using one-way ANOVA and the Lowest Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results of the analysis show that there are differences in the types of planting media used to plant kadaka roots, Sphagnum moss, and wood charcoal. In the planting medium, kadaka roots grow well with high variable stem growth. In the Sphagnum moss planting medium, it gave the best growth in the shoot height increase variable, while in the wood charcoal planting medium it did not show suboptimal growth in terms of stem height, stem diameter, shoot height and number of roots. Sphagnum moss planting medium provides the best growth for increasing shoot height.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keefektifan media puzzle terhadap hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik kelas 2 SD Negeri Jatingaleh 01 Semarang dengan jumlah 27 peserta didik. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan metode pre-eksperimen design dengan one group pretest-posttest. Data yang diperoleh diujikan menggunakan uji normalitas, uji N-Gain, dan uji t paired sample T-Test. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh rata-rata pretest (61) dan posttest (82). Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji hipotesis melalui uji t paired sample t-test bahwa nilai Sig maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak pada taraf signifikan ? = 0.05 dengan nilai signifikan 0.000 < 0.005 artinya media puzzle mata Pelajaran PPKn efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik kelas 2. Kriteria N-gain mendapat nilai > 0.7 yang menunjukkan bahwa media puzzle memiliki kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan penelitian ini adalah media puzzle dapat dijadikan salah satu media untuk membantu proses pembelajaran agar dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik.

Abstract

This research focuses on the implementation of ice breaking aided by the song "Disini Teman Disana Teman" to enhance learning interest among 2nd-grade students at SDN Jatingaleh 01. This study was conducted with the aim of implementing ice breaking using the song "Disini Teman Disana Teman" to enhance the learning interest of second-grade students at SD Negeri Jatingaleh 01. The research aimed to explore the implementation of ice breaking supported by the song "Disini Teman Disana Teman" to boost learning interest among second-grade students at SDN Jatingaleh 01. This qualitative research was carried out at one elementary school in Semarang, namely SD Negeri Jatingaleh 01. The subjects were second-grade students at SD Negeri Jatingaleh 01. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The researcher analyzed the data using descriptive data analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of ice breaking has been conducted at SD Negeri Jatingaleh 01. Based on the research findings, it is evident that ice breaking has had a positive impact on children in their learning process. This is observed through several aspects: 1) Ice breaking helps build self-confidence, strengthens relationships among students, reduces awkwardness, and fosters a positive environment for further learning or collaboration. 2) Ice breaking alleviates boredom. 3) It engages the interest of second-grade students at SD Negeri Jatingaleh 01. 4) It enhances the effectiveness of learning. Ice breaking, facilitated by the song "Disini Teman Disana Teman," is conducted at the beginning of lessons to create an enjoyable learning atmosphere and foster camaraderie among students. The implementation of ice breaking has been perceived positively by the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis Lichenes di Objek Wisata Wono Sreni Indah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Sampling dilakukan di 2 stasiun pengamatan yaitu di Sreni dan di jalan menuju Sreni. Pengambilan sampel di jalan menuju Sreni dilakukan dengan cara teknik purposive sampling sedangkan pengambilan sampel di Sreni dilakukan dengan metode transek dalam plot. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 16 spesies Lichenes dari 7 family dengan tipe thalus foliose dan crustose. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa indeks keanekaragaman di Sreni tergolong tingkat sedang, sedangkan indeks keanekaragaman di jalan menuju Sreni tergolong rendah. Indeks keanekaragaman Lichenes tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan meliputi suhu, kelembapan udara, dan intensitas cahaya.

Abstract

The results of observations at SMA N 10 Semarang, teachers have tried to increase student motivation and learning outcomes by providing assignments and digital-based learning media but the there are still not optimal. The implementation of teacher learning still uses a lot of the conventional learning model. Students consider biology lessons to be just a collection of concepts that must be memorized. Students still do not associate much learning material with phenomena that exist in the surrounding environment. The effect is students are less motivated in learning the material. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model in improving cognitive outcomes and student motivation in environmental change material. The research method used in this research is pre-experimental one group pretest-postets. The population used in this study were all students of class X.10 SMA N 10 Semarang with a total of 37 students. The conclusion of the results of this study shows that the Problem Based Learning model has a high category of effectiveness in increasing cognitive outcomes and student learning motivation.

Abstract

Microgreens are young plants harvested when they are 7–14 days old after planting (DAP) with a nutrient content 40 times higher than mature plants, especially vitamins and phytonutrients. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of various growing media on the growth of sunflower microgreens. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with one factor of growing media (M1: sandy soil, M2: charcoal husk, M3: cocopeat, M4: rockwool) and three replicates, then the sampling process on each thinwall was 10 plants. The observation data were analyzed using a one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test to determine the differences between treatments. If the ANOVA results showed significance (< 0.05), then a further Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test was conducted at a significance level of 5% to identify treatments that were significantly different. Comparisons between treatments were presented in bar graphs. The results showed that cocopeat growing media provided the best growth response with an average plant height of 13.53 cm and wet weight of 32.8 g, which was significantly superior to other media. The superiority of cocopeat is supported by its physical and chemical properties, which are able to retain moisture, provide nutrients, and support root development. Thus, cocopeat is recommended as an effective growing medium for sunflower microgreen production.
