Abstract

This study provides a dynamic panel analysis of the relationship between blue economy development and income inequality across 32 Indonesian provinces over the period 2019–2025. Focusing on the fisheries sector as a key and measurable component of blue economy activities in Indonesia, the analysis System GMM estimation to address endogeneity and Nickell bias, the analysis yields several key findings. Income inequality exhibits strong temporal persistence, with a lagged Gini coefficient of 0.8108, indicating that approximately 81% of inequality carries over from one year to the next. F isheries sector development , measured by the fisheries sector’s contribution to provincial GRDP, shows no statistically significant effect on income inequality at the aggregate level. Human capital development significantly reduces inequality. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that inequality persistence is higher in low blue economy provinces, than in high blue economy provinces. Human capital development remains a significant equalizing factor in both subsamples. These results show that the development of the fisheries sector in blue economies does not automatically translate into reduced inequality, The benefits of its distribution depend on the complement factors such as infrastructure, institutional capacity, and human capital investment. The findings offer important policy implications for designing more targeted and context sensitive blue economy strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the issue of labor utilization in Indonesia, which is still far from efficient. The main focus is on the phenomena of underemployment and skills mismatch as the fundamental issue of labor market inefficiency. Interestingly, although open unemployment statistics show very low figures, the productive capacity of most of our workforce has not been fully drawn into the labor market. This is reflected in the minimal working hours, low productivity, and the gap between educational qualifications and professional requirements. Through a literature review that synthesizes national data and international reports, this study finds that underemployment in Indonesia is based on structural problems, such as the strong influence of the informal sector and economic inequality between regions. Moreover, the phenomenon of over-education is a clear manifestation of human capital wastage. In summary, the efficiency of the Indonesian labor market cannot be assessed solely on the basis of formal unemployment figures; closer synchronization between the education system and industry needs is required.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital marketing, product quality, and product innovation on the purchasing decisions of Adam Snack tamban fish crackers in Kampung Jawa, Bintan Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents who were consumers of Adam Snack tamban fish crackers in Bintan Regency. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS version 26 software. The results showed that simultaneously, the three independent variables (digital marketing, product quality, and product innovation) had a significant effect on purchasing decisions, with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.639, indicating that 63.9% of the variation in purchasing decisions could be explained by the combination of these three variables, while the remaining 36.1% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. However, partially, digital marketing and product innovation had a significant effect on purchasing decisions, whereas product quality did not show a significant effect. This indicates that product innovation, such as variations in size, shape, and attractive packaging, became the main factor influencing consumer purchasing decisions, supported by digital marketing strategies that were able to expand product information and promotion to consumers. This study contributes to business actors by showing that improving purchasing decisions can be optimized through strengthening digital marketing strategies and continuously developing product innovation.
