Abstract

In the era of modern learning, interactive dynamics have become an important aspect in creating an active and meaningful learning process. However, in Nahwu learning at universities, students often still show passive learning patterns with a dominance of one-way lecture methods. This condition hinders student engagement and conceptual understanding of Arabic grammar structure. This study aims to explain how the use of Guided Cooperative Learning (GCL) affects Nahwu lessons and how it makes classes more interactive. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that focuses on one lecturer and 38 students in the fourth semester of the Arabic Language Education Program at UIN Palangka Raya. Information was collected by observing three in-depth class sessions, conducting detailed discussions, and reviewing lesson plans; then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of the study show that the use of GCL makes students more active in participating, interact more with each other, and understand i'rab better. The lecturer acts as the main guide in creating a classroom environment where everyone works together and thinks deeply.

Abstract

The problem of speaking Arabic (ESA) is often an important issue in teaching Arabic to students. The situational language teaching (SLT) approach is seen as being able to be a solution to this problem. This study aims to analyze the approach of SLT to improve the ESA skills of primary school students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at Daarul Ukhuwwah Qur’an Basic School, Malang. The research sample is 45 students and 3 teachers. Data was collected through observation, interview, and document study. Then analyzed using the theory of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study show that the SLT approach makes students involved in communicative situations that are similar to their daily lives, but in a more formal context and in accordance with ESA. Teachers can arrange situations that demand the use of formal Arabic, such as class discussions, presentations, or role-plays involving situations in school or other formal environments. The SLT approach is also a solution for improving the Arabic language skills of primary school students starting with istima’, kalam, qira’ah, and kitabah in the context of real situations in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to explore Abdullah Saeed's thoughts about Fazlur Rahman, namely Rahman’s critique of traditional Islam, Rahman's framework for interpretation, and an assessment of Rahman’s contribution. This study is a literature review using analytical descriptive methods with primary and secondary data sources from literature materials. The results of this study show that: first, Fazlur Rahman highlights that traditional Islam tends to be trapped in backwardness of thought due to stagnant interpretation and interpretation of sacred texts. He emphasized that thinkers and ulama should make serious efforts to adapt Islamic understanding to changing times and social dynamics; secondly, to understand the Qur’an correctly, we must understand the text in its historical context and relate it to universal values that can be applied in the context of modern times; and third, Abdullah Saeed appreciated Fazlur Rahman's great contribution to the world of contemporary Islamic thought. According to him, Fazlur Rahman opened a new path in the interpretation of the Qur’an with a more dynamic and progressive approach in the form of a method of interpreting the Qur’an that takes into account historical, social context, and universal values, allowing for a broader and more relevant understanding of how to convey the messages of the Koran in modern times.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument for Arabic writing skills as a second language using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The instrument was developed based on the Oriondo and Antonio model, with a sample of 248 students who completed a writing test. Data were analyzed using R-Studio software for EFA, CFA, and descriptive statistics. The EFA results revealed one main factor, with eigenvalues and factor loadings above 0.6, indicating a consistent factor structure. In CFA, the four dimensions of writing skills Ideas and Content, Structure and Organization, Style and Rhetoric, and Language and Grammar demonstrated strong factor loadings and good model fit, confirming the robustness of the instrument. The instrument also showed high internal consistency and strong construct validity. This instrument can be practically used by educators and language program administrators to evaluate and enhance students’ writing proficiency in Arabic as a second language. This study produces a valid and reliable instrument for assessing Arabic writing skills as a second language in higher education.

Abstract

The use of social media as a communication medium is not limited. In the era of technological development with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, social media is also used to access information about spiritual issues. This study aims to explore the use of social media as a religious learning solution for the millennial generation in the era of the spread of Covid-19. This study adopts a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to the millennial generation's tendency to use social media. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and analysis studies of da’wah accounts on social media. The data analysis technique uses the theory of Miles and Huberman, namely collecting data, reducing, and presenting. Data validation uses data triangulation and data sources. This study shows that the millennial generation filters da’wah accounts on social media based on their understanding (manhaj). This research needs to be followed up by mapping the concept of da’wah through social media which is relevant for the millennial generation in Indonesia.
