Abstract

Simpulan: Gel serbuk membran telur 10% dapat mempercepat penyembuhan luka sayat gingiva tikus galur Wistar pada hari ke-3, ke-7 dan ke-14.Kata kunci: luka sayat; membran telur ayam; penyembuhan luka; galur wistar ABSTRACTIntroduction: The epithelial layer of the skin or mucosa is disrupted when there is a wound. The gingiva is the oral mucosa that frequently sustains wounds from trauma that can happen during the treatment of periodontal disease or tooth extraction. Complex carbohydrate bioactive ingredients found in chicken egg membranes, it can speed up tissue repair. This study aimed to analyzed the impact of application egg membrane gel 10% on the length of the wound on Wistar strain on day 3, 7, and 14. Methods: A (3x0.25)mm incision was made on the maxillary anterior attached gingiva Wistar strain rats. There were 3 groups, egg membrane gel 10%, povidone iodine 10% as a positive control, and aquades as a negative control. Observation of wound length for all samples was carried out on days 0, 3, 7, and 14. The data obtained were then analyzed by the Kruskal Wallis test and followed by the Mann Whitney post hoc test with p<0.05. Results: All groups experienced a reduction in the length of the incision starting from days 3, 7, to 14. The egg membrane gel 10% application treatment group healed the incision faster than the positive control group on day 3 (1.74±0.14)mm, day 7 (0.81±0.16)mm, and day 14 (0.07±0.14)mm. The measurement of the length of the incision on days 3 and 7 of the egg membrane gel 10% application group was significantly different from the positive control (p<0.05). Conclusion: egg membrane gel 10% can accelerate the healing of gingival incisions in Wistar strain rats started on days 3 to 14.Keywords: cut wounds; wound healing; chicken egg membrane; wistar strain

Abstract

Periodontal dressings has an important role in reducing the risk of infection and assisting in the wound healing processed after periodontal surgery. One of the materials used is ZOE-based. BSF chitosan is one of the ingredients that can be added to periodontal dressings. Periodontal dressing must have antibacterial properties, to increased effectiveness during the healing process. This study aims to determine whether there is antibacterial effectiveness against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in ZOE periodontal dressing with and without BSF chitosan. Antibacterial testing was carried out using the well diffusion method with test groups using the ZOE control group, ZOE with 10% and 20% BSF chitosan. The results was analyzed using the Shapiro Wilk test, Levene test, One Way Anova followed by the Post Hoc Tukey HSD test (p>0.05). The results shows that ZOE periodontal dressing with and without BSF chitosan has antibacterial effectiveness in each treatment, but there is no significant difference between each group.
