Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning model based on the Independent Curriculum in Aisyiyah 11 Musi Rawas Kindergarten, South Sumatra. The Independent Curriculum is a new policy in the Indonesian education system that provides freedom for educators to design learning that suits the needs and potential of students. At the Kindergarten (TK) level, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum is expected to foster character, faith, and devotion in children from an early age through a fun approach and activating children's participation. Abstract

This study investigates the implementation and effectiveness of the Model of Strengthening Religious Character for Grade I students at MIS Muhammadiyah Darussalam Waioti, Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara. Designed to embed religious values into daily educational activities, the model aims to promote students’ spiritual engagement and moral development. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study utilized classroom observations, interviews with teachers, parents, and students, as well as focus group discussions. Community involvement, particularly the participation of local religious leaders, further reinforced the integration of religious teachings. Findings reveal that the model significantly enhanced students’ engagement in religious practices, such as prayer and Qur’an recitation, and positively influenced behavior by fostering discipline, respect, and social harmony. However, challenges were identified in areas related to emotional regulation and conflict resolution, where some students struggled to align their responses with religious principles. To address these gaps, the study recommends integrating emotional intelligence and conflict management training into the curriculum. Overall, the model has proven effective in cultivating religious character and moral values at an early educational stage. Continued parental involvement, curriculum enrichment, and ongoing evaluation are suggested to sustain and improve its outcomes.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of online donation platforms has transformed the collection and distribution of zakat, particularly among younger Muslim generations who are closely connected to digital technology. This study examines the factors influencing Muslim millennials’ decisions to distribute zakat through the “Kitabisa.com” platform in Indonesia. Specifically, it analyzes the roles of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude toward use, behavioral intention to use, brand awareness, and zakat literacy in shaping decisions to utilize digital zakat platforms. The study employs a quantitative approach based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), integrated with brand awareness and zakat literacy variables. Data were collected from 130 Muslim millennials in Indonesia using accidental sampling, and the analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings indicate that perceived ease of use significantly influences perceived usefulness but does not have a significant effect on attitude toward use. Brand awareness and zakat literacy significantly influence the decision to use the platform. Perceived usefulness significantly affects both attitude toward use and behavioral intention to use, while attitude toward use also significantly influences behavioral intention. Furthermore, behavioral intention has a significant effect on the final decision to distribute zakat through the platform. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening digital literacy, enhancing platform usability, building public trust, and expanding brand visibility to encourage wider participation in digital zakat distribution among Muslim millennials in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education raises questions regarding its impact on student morality. This study aims to examine the correlation between AI usage and the moral character of students at MTs Labanan Makmur. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 35 seventh-grade students selected via purposive sampling. A validated Likert-scale questionnaire was utilized, and the data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between AI usage and student morality (r = 0.3443, p < 0.05). However, the correlation strength is classified as weak, indicating that AI only partially contributes to moral development. The findings emphasize that while AI serves as a constructive cognitive tool, it cannot substitute the irreplaceable human elements essential for character building, such as teachers' role modeling (uswah hasanah) and parental guidance. This study concludes that integrating religious digital literacy is crucial in Islamic educational institutions to ensure that technological competence aligns harmoniously with students' moral maturity.

Abstract

Bullying incidents in school settings still occur frequently and are feared to have serious impacts on students’ development. This study aims to analyze the correlation between bullying behavior and students’ self-confidence at MTs Labanan Makmur. This study employed a quantitative approach, involving a sample of 33 seventh-grade A students from a total population of 167. The sample was selected using Arikunto’s conditional sampling technique. Data were collected by distributing a questionnaire consisting of 20 statements to the entire sample, and the data were analyzed using the product-moment (Pearson) correlation technique. The findings indicate that the majority of students have high levels of self-confidence, even though bullying behavior remains relatively high. This finding is supported by the results of the product-moment correlation analysis, which yielded a value of r = -0.10, indicating a negative relationship with a very low correlation coefficient between bullying and students’ self-confidence. Thus, this study confirms the existence of a very weak negative relationship between bullying behavior and students’ self-confidence. Therefore, the roles of teachers and parents are crucial factors in efforts to prevent bullying and enhance students’ self-confidence.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of Muhammadiyah’s Wasatiyah as a preventive strategy in countering extremism through the strengthening of Islamic moderation, inclusive education, and community-based da‘wah and leadership. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, the study synthesizes classical and contemporary literature to understand wasatiyah as both a normative framework and a practical guide in religious and social life. The findings indicate that wasatiyah is understood as a principle of the middle path that emphasizes justice, balance, and tolerance, while rejecting all forms of ideological and practical extremism. Within the Muhammadiyah context, wasatiyah is institutionalized through the ideological foundations of tajdid, purification, and the orientation of Progressive Islam (Islam Berkemajuan), which are integratively implemented across education, da‘wah, and institutional policies. Muhammadiyah education serves as a strategic arena for internalizing values of moderation through inclusive curricula, character development, and dialogical learning environments. Meanwhile, community-based da‘wah and participatory leadership strengthen social empowerment and community resilience against extremist influences. This study affirms that Muhammadiyah’s Wasatiyah represents a coherent and adaptive model of religious praxis oriented toward social welfare and the sustainability of peace in plural societies.
