Abstract

The teaching profession plays a strategic role in developing human resources and forming national character. Teachers are not only responsible for transferring knowledge but also for instilling values, attitudes, and moral principles in students. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research to examine the teacher code of ethics conceptually and juridically, including its philosophical and legal foundations, implementation, and the four types of teacher protection mandated by Law No. 14 of 2005. The findings indicate that while the code of ethics is crucial for professional dignity, its implementation faces challenges in the digital era, necessitating strong support from professional organizations.

Abstract

Learning materials are essential components in supporting the success of the teaching and learning process. Among these materials, Student Worksheets (LKS/LKPD) and assessment instruments play a highly strategic role. The Student Worksheet (LKPD) is one of the learning tools that functions to support the achievement of learning processes and outcomes, and in order to obtain a quality and feasible LKPD, a feasibility assessment must be conducted. This article aims to provide a systematic guide for developing quality LKS/LKPD as well as valid and reliable assessment instruments. The study was conducted through a literature review approach drawing on various relevant scientific sources. The findings indicate that the development of a good LKPD must consider aspects of content feasibility, language, activities, appearance, and presentation. Validation results show that well-developed learning tools, including LKPD, can fall within the valid to highly valid category and are suitable for use in the learning process. Furthermore, authentic assessment covers cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects—using techniques such as written tests, oral tests, assignments, observations, self-assessments, peer assessments, projects, performance tasks, and portfolios—to obtain a comprehensive picture of students' competency attainment. This article is expected to serve as a practical reference for educators in designing effective, measurable, and curriculum-aligned learning materials. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and compare the learning assessment systems and the utilization of senior high school (SMA) mathematics textbooks based on the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum. The transition between these two curriculums has altered the pedagogical paradigm, specifically regarding how instructional materials are designed and implemented in classrooms. This research employs a qualitative approach with a literature study or content analysis method. The data sources consist of official mathematics textbooks for SMA issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, along with relevant scientific articles. The analysis focuses on two main dimensions: the structure of assessment instruments (formative, summative, and higher-order thinking skills) and the adaptability of textbook utilization by teachers. The results of this study indicate that the 2013 Curriculum textbooks emphasize rigid and structured cognitive assessment models with scientific approaches. In contrast, the Merdeka Curriculum textbooks provide more flexible assessment instruments that support differentiated learning and the reinforcement of the Pancasila Student Profile. Furthermore, the utilization of Merdeka Curriculum textbooks demands greater pedagogical creativity from teachers to adapt materials to student characteristics. This study concludes that while the Merdeka Curriculum provides more adaptive space, teachers still require comprehensive guidance to optimize the assessment tools provided in the textbooks.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in designing effective learning to optimally achieve learning objectives. Lesson Implementation Plans (RPPs) and open modules are among the tools used in lesson planning. RPPs serve as guidelines for teachers in systematically organizing learning activities, while open modules contain objectives, materials, methods, and assessments tailored to student needs. Curriculum developments in Indonesia, particularly the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, encourage teachers to be more creative and innovative in developing learning materials. Learning modules are designed to enhance learning materials that are more flexible, contextual, and student-centered. Through open modules, the learning process is expected to enhance critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, and student learning independence. However, the implementation of RPPs and open modules still faces various challenges. Some frequently encountered obstacles include teachers' lack of understanding regarding developing learning materials that are appropriate to student characteristics, limited time for planning, and minimal training and mentoring related to open modules. These conditions can impact the quality of classroom learning. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the concepts, functions, and steps involved in developing lesson plans and open modules is essential. With proper lesson planning, teachers can create a more focused and effective learning process that supports the achievement of educational goals in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
