Abstract

This program is aimed to: (1) increase the knowledge of the target group on the excellence of organic fertilizers and the benefits of organic fertilizer plus application on vegetable cultivation; (2) provision of technical supervision in the production of organic fertilizers plus with decomposer of Pphosphorus fertilizers enriched with drought tolerant organism who increase phosphor solubility. The activity of community service was implemented in Nyur Lembang, Narmada, West Lombok, the Province of West Nusa Tenggara for six months (from April to September 2019) applying partisipatory approach. The activities were (1) extension on production of organic fertilizers and (2) training of production of organic fertilizers plus. The output are (1) increase of the partiipants’knowledge on the excellence of organic fertilizers and (2) the participants prosess skills in producing organic fertilizers plus in situ agricultural waste.

Abstract

The community extension service aim to upgrade farmers' knowledge about organic fertilizer; (2) introduce the Crotalaria juncea cultivation as a source of organic fertilizer in situ; (3) demonstrate the potential of Crotalaria juncea as an organic fertilizer for crops on dry land. This activity was conducted at village of Sukadana and Gumantar, Regency of North Lombok  for eight months. The method used was participatory approach with stages of  the activity  as follows: (1)  socialization of the  activity plan to the cooperator farmers; (2) extension services to farmers in respect of organic matter role in   increasing soil fertility; (3) demonstrate to farmers about the  Crotalaria cultivation  and its utilization as organic fertilizer by making experimental plots; (4) evaluation of the achievement of the activity objectives. Results of the activity shown that (1)  farmers' knowledge about organic fertilizer and its role for soil fertility increased;  (2) farmers interested  to cultivate Crotalaria juncea  to be used as a source of organic fertilizer at dry land; (3) farmers responded positively to this program and confirmed that it provides economic benefits in agriculture

Abstract

Rice bean is a group of beans that are rich in carbohydrates, proteins and fats. This plant is resistant to pests and diseases, as well as the broad adaptability.  This study aims to obtain an efficient fertilization pattern on rice bean cultivation in dry land. The treatments consisted of 9 fertilization patterns which were RP0: no fertilizer (control); RP1: 100%  recommendation fertilizer (50 kg Urea and 100 kg SP-36 ha-1); RP2: 5 Mg ha-1 manure plus 50% recommendation fertilizer; RP3: RP2 plus MVA; RP4: 5 Mg ha-1 Crotalaria sp compost plus 50% recommendation fertilizer; RP5: RP4 plus VAM; RP6: 2.5 t ha-1 manure, 2.5 Mg ha-1 Crotalaria sp compost plus 50% recommendation fertilizer; RP7: 1.5 Mg ha-1 manure, 1 Mg ha-1 Crotalaria sp compost plus 50% recommendation fertilizer; RP8: RP7 plus MVA. Fertilization treatments were arranged in RCBD and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The fertilization treatments had no significant effect on NUE. Productivity of  rice bean in RP3 and   RP5 reached 3.75 Mg ha-1, in RP2 and RP4 achieved 2.64 Mg ha-1, and in   the control treatment reached 1.94 Mg ha-1. Carbohydrate content  in seeds increased by 20% in the fertilization treatments compared to the control. Protein and anthocyanin content in all treatments were not significantly different. The combination of 5 Mg organic fertilizer (manure and / or Crotalaria compost), 50% recommendation  fertilizer plus MVA was an efficient fertilization pattern to improve P fertilizer uptake efficiency (PUE), productivity and quality of rice bean crop in dry land.  [How to Cite: Lolita ES, UM Yakop, L Ujianto, and B Hari Kusumo. 2015. Abstract

Abstrak: Sampah organic rumah tangga yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat Desa narmada belum dikelola menjadi suatu produk yang bernilai ekonomi. Produk sampah organik dibuang begitu saja di lahan terbuka, di sungai atau dibakar. Karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkaya pengetahuan sasaran penerima manfaat dalam rangka membangun motivasi masyarakat untuk mengelola sampah organic rumah tangga menjadi kompos yang bermanfaat. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Desa Narmada, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Sebagai masyarakat penerima manfaat adalah ibu rumah tangga dari kelompok PaManSam “Pangolah dan Pemanfaat Sampah”. Aktivitas kegiatannya meliputi: 1) penyuluhan tentang peran dekomposer dan proses pengomposan; 2) pembelajaran teknis pembuatan dekomposer lokal dan pengomposan sampah organik. Hasil kegiatan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa 1) 60% dari peserta memberikan respon yang positif terhadap materi penyuluhan yang diberikan; 2) peserta menguasai materi penyuluhan dengan baik, sehingga diharapkan dapat memotivasi mereka untuk mengurangi volume sampah dengan program-3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) mulai dari sumbernya; 3) secara umum, peserta dapat membuat dekomposer lokal dan mengaplikasikannya dalam proses pengomposan.Abstract:  Household organic waste produced by the people of Narmada Village has not been managed into a product that has economic value. Organic waste products are simply dumped in open fields, in rivers or burned. Therefore, this service activity aims to enrich the knowledge of target partners, housewives, in order to build their motivation to manage household waste into useful compost. The activity was conducted in Narmada, west lombok regency. The beneficiary partners are housewives from the PaManSam“Pangolah dan Pemanfaat Sampah” group. Activities include: 1) counseling on the role of decomposers in composting 2) the practice of making local decomposers and composting organic waste. This result shows that 1) 60% of the participants gave a positive response to the extension materials provided; 2) 50% of the participants master the extension material well, so it is hoped that it can motivate them to reduce the volume of waste with the 3R program (reduce, reuse, recycle) starting from the source; 3) generally, the participants can make local decomposers and apply it in composting.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mensosialisasikan penggunaan pupuk bioorganik-P pada tanaman kedelai  guna  mengurangi ketergantungan petani pada penggunaan pupuk anorganik. Pupuk bioorganik-P merupakan  pupuk organik yang telah diperkaya  Rhizobacteria pelarut fosfat (PSR). Pada kegiatan ini digunakan  metode pendekatan partisipatif, dimana kelompok sasaran terlibat aktif pada semua tingkat kegiatan. Sebagai mitra sasaran adalah kelompok tani "Mele Maju" di Desa Selat, Kecamatan Narmada, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan membangun kesepakatan antara tim pengabdian dengan kelompok sasaran melalui suatu kegiatan diskusi kelompok (FGD). Kegiatan selanjutnya adalah kegiatan penyuluhan tentang  pupuk organik, pupuk bioorganik-P, perannya, dan manfaatnya untuk tanaman khususnya tanaman kedelai. Setelah itu dilakukan praktik pembuatan pupuk bioorganik-P.  Selanjutnya, pada lahan petani dilakukan kegiatan demplot percontohan pemupukan terpadu untuk menunjukkan perbedaan hasil dengan atau tanpa menggunakan kombinasi pupuk bioorganik-P dan pupuk anorganik. Hasil demplot pada tanaman kedelai menunjukkan bahwa pemupukan kombinasi bioorganik-P dan 75% dari dosis pupuk rekomendasi lebih tinggi dari 100% dosis yang direkomendasikan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini mendapat sambutan yang positi dari kelompok tani sasaran. Abstract: The purpose of this community service activity was to socialize the use of bioorganic fertilizer-P on soybean plants in order to reduce farmers' using inorganic fertilizers. Bioorganic-P fertilizer is an organic fertilizer that has been enriched with phosphate solvent Rhizobacteria (PSR). This activity uses a participatory approach method, in which the target group is actively involved at all levels of activity. The target partner is the "Mele Maju" farmer group in Selat Village, Narmada District, West Lombok Regency.The beginning of this activity was  building an agreement between the service team and the target group through a group discussion activity (FGD). The next activity was counseling about organic fertilizers, bioorganic-P fertilizers, their roles, and their benefits for plants, especially soybean plants. After that, the practice of making bioorganic –P fertilizer was carried out. Furthermore, a demonstration plot of integrated fertilization was carried out on farmers' land to show differences in yields with or without using a combination of bioorganic-P fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers. The results of the demonstration plot on soybean showed that the combination of bioorganic-P fertilization and 75% of the recommended fertilizer dose was higher than 100% of the recommended doses. This service activity received a positive response from the target farmer groups.

Abstract

Ornamental plant nursery is one form of activity in the thematic KKN-Green Campus. This activity aims to provide plant seeds that are ready to be planted in campus gardens. The nursery activity begins with enriching students' knowledge of plant propagation techniques. The theory of plant propagation is given in class, then followed by nursery practice. The nursery is carried out in the campus environment, starting with the construction of a paranet house located in the Aquaculture Study Program building, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram, then preparing seedling media and planting equipment. There are five types of seeds provided, namely sunflower seeds, marigolds, puring, nine o'clock flowers and Miana tricolor, with a total of 300, 300, 25 80 and 15 seeds, respectively. The propagation of sunflower and marigold plants was carried out generatively and puring, nine o'clock flowers and Miana tricolor flowers were propagated vegetatively. This activity also succeeded in building students' hard skills in plant nurseries, as shown by their success in germinating plants, which on average reached 100% of the number of prepared seeds that were ready to be planted

Abstract

Entisols are low fertility soils that require high doses of inorganic fertilizers to support plant growth. On the other hand, it was reported that biofertilizers can be applied to support plant growth. The purpose of this study was to examine the ability of bio-phosphate fertilizers to affect plant growth. The greenhouse experiment was arranged according to a completely randomized design, consisting of five treatments of different fertilization  and each treatment was repeated four times. Experimental treatments were P1) control; P2) biological-phosphate fertilizer treatment; P3) treatment of NPK fertilizers; P4) integrated fertilizer treatment of 2 combinations of fertilizers (biological-phosphate & NPK); P5) integrated treatment of 3 combinations of fertilizers (biological-phosphate, NPK & organic). The dose of NPK fertilizer is 75% of the recommended dose. The experimental soil has a sandy loam texture, pH-soil 6.01, content of C-organic1.20%, N-total 0.09%, P-available 5.68 ppm and Kdd 0.31cmol/kg. The results showed that the application of a single biological phosphate fertilizer had no significant effect on plant growth compared to the control. A significant effect was obtained on integrated fertilization, both with two combinations of fertilizers (P4) and with three combinations of fertilizers (P5). The highest plant growth rate, with reference to the total dry biomass of plant shoots and roots, was obtained in treatment P5 with plant growth rates reaching 232.14% higher than the single treatment of biological fertilizers (P2), 53.70% higher than the single treatment of NPK fertilizers (P3) and 16.35% higher than the integrated treatment of two combinations of fertilizers (P4).

Abstract

Dalam persiapan pembangunan bak Induk penampung air pompa di Sambik Rindang 1, diperlukan bangunan berupa lantai kerja karena bak air akan berada di lereng perbukitan dan rentan terhadap bahaya gempa. Dalam hal tersebut diperlukan pekerja seperti tukang yang memadai, dan perlu ada partisipasi masyarakat dalam pembangunan tersebut. Memperhatikan keterampilan warga yang ada sangat bermacam-jenisnya, maka pelibatan masyarakat perlu dilakukan secara selektif untuk menjamin hasil pekerjaan yang baik. Untuk itu pekerja yang dilibatkan perlu didampingi tim yang berpengalaman, agar hasil pembangunan memiliki kualitas dan kuantitas sesuai dengan yang diperlukan. Mengingat pentingnya terbangunnya bak air tersebut untuk menampung air dari air tanah, maka tim dari Unram dalam pengabdian ini perlu membantu kepentingan masyarakat tersebut. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode pendamping oleh Tim Unram, dengan tahapan kegiatan: survey awal dan koodinasi, kegiatan pendampingan dalam penentuan lokasi, pengukuran lokasi, pemasangan bawplang bak, penggalian dasar lantai kerja dan pembangunan lantai kerja. Diskusi dan tanya jawab dilakukan selama proses pembangunan, untuk meningkatkan wawasan para tukang dan pekerja dilokasi setempat.Hasil pengabdian warga telah berhasil membuat lantai kerja bak Induk sampai selesai, peserta telah mendapatkan pengetahuan pembanguan tambahan dari kegiatan ini. Dikusi dan tanya jawab telah menigkatkan pengetahuan Teknik banguan pada para tukang dan perkerja yang ada di Sambik Rindang 1tentang pentingnya keamanan bangunan yang dihasilkan, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bekal dalam pembangunan dimasa-masa mendatang. Semua yang terlibat harus memiliki tanggungjawabnya, agar bangunan yang dihasilkan dapat bermanfaat dengan baik. Dengan selesainya kegiatan pertemuan terpusat tersebut maka kegiatan ini sudah selesai, tim pengabdian mengucapkan terimakasih dan semoga amal ini memberi manfaat.

Abstract

The potential for dry land in North Lombok is very wide with the surrounding rivers mostly dry during the dry season. Sambik Rindang Hamlet is one of the dry lands that has the potential for productive agriculture, but has not been able to be utilized optimally. For this reason, the people of Sambik Rindang need to be given knowledge about this through socialization, so that they can make efficient use of dry land and groundwater so that farming can be carried out outside the rainy season. The aim of the socialization is to increase people's knowledge about irrigation water efficiency and irrigation methods for agriculture in dry land. This socialization was carried out with the stages of field review, field socialization, discussion and question and answer, evaluation and closing. Furthermore, this socialization service has succeeded in providing knowledge about efficient irrigation such as drip irrigation and pipelines, with productive farming. The service participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the socialization activities, questions about agriculture and irrigation were answered well by the team from the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Engineering. Evaluation of activities is carried out by the service team, from the field socialization activities to the end of the activity. The service participants were very proactive during the activity and had knowledge about efficient irrigation and productive farming methods. Thus the service participants have known efficient irrigation methods and have gained knowledge in utilizing dry land in order to have an economic impact on the family.
