Abstract

Domestic waste is closely associated with cleanliness, health, aesthetics and safety. Women are responsible for all of these . The purpose of this study was to describe the women’s role in the domestic waste management based on the “4 P” program (sorting, processing, utilizing and residue disposal). The descriptive research method was used in this study. Survey was conducted to 15 respondents of the Mandar village by means of the purposive sampling method. The respondents were housewife aged 17-50 years. The study results showed that the average amount of the domestic waste produced was about 0.5kg/person/day. The waste composition was 85% of organic and the remaining was plastics, glasses, cans and others. Womens social and economic status in the area is relatively low in terms of education, income and occupation. Most women on this  area had not applied the “4P” program. Waste sorting was only undertaken for the purpose of sale. The higher the social-economic status of women, the better the manage waste. In conclusion, the role of the housewife in managing domestic waste based on the “4 P” program has  not been done perfectly.Therefore, structured education and training about the program is needed to establish  good behavior in waste management

Abstract

Desa Tanak Awu  adalah salah satu desa di Kecamatan Pujut-Kabupaten Lombok Tengah dan merupakan tempat Bandara Internasional Lombok. Sumber mata pencaharian penduduk Desa Tanak Awu adalah sebagai petani lahan kering meskipun produktivitas dan pendapatan dari sistem pertanian ini rendah sehingga mengakibatkan kemiskinan. Kemiskinan dan rendahnya produktivitas pertanian di desa ini mengakibatkan kurangnya kemampuan pengadaan modal untuk aplikasi input pertanian secara optimal dan untuk pengupahan tenaga kerja. Namun,  berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang terkait dengan model pemberdaayaan kelompok perempuan  yang disuluhkan pada kegiatan ini ditemukan kondisi kontra-produktif tradisi patriarhi yang dianut masyarakat. Kelompok perempuan tidak bekerja di lahan pertaniannya, partisipasinya sebatas penyedia makanan untuk pekerja liar keluarga. Secara kultural peran mencari nafkah terbeban mutlak di kelompok laki-laki dan potensi produktif perempuan terpendam meskipun kekurangan tenaga kerja untuk mengelola usahataninya. Untuk itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberdayakan potensi kerja kelompok perempuan melalui pengembangan kegiatan produktif-ekonomi yang selaras tradisi.  Tradisi tersebut memilik potensi positip yakni tersedianya banyak waktu luang kelompok perempuan diantara aktivitas domestikasi dan disuluhkan untuk pengembangan sistem pertanian organik tanaman hortikultura dalam wadah polybag di halaman pekarangan. Sistem binaan ini selaras tradisi serta hemat lahan dan waktu pengelolaan sehingga lebih optimal perolehan produksi dan pendapatannya. Implikasinya adalah kelompok perempuan dapat berkontribusi secara ekonomi untuk membebaskan keluarganya dari kemiskinan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mentransfer teknologi budidaya cabai yang ramah lingkungan pada saat off seasonkepada petani di lahan kering. Paket teknologi yang ditransfer adalah paket rekomendasi BALITSA, meliputi penggunaan varietas unggul, teknik budidaya cabai hemat air dengan irigasi tetes dan teknik penyemaian. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di lahan kering beririgasi tetes di Sambik Rindang, Desa Salut, Kecamatan Bayan, Kabupaten Lombok Utara, Provinsi NTB. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif kepada petani sasaran.Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian sebagai berikut : (1) membangun kesepakatan bersama antara petani dan tim pengabdiandalam pelaksanaan keiatan, (2) penyuluhan teori budidaya cabai yang ramah lingkungan, (3) pembuatan Demplot cabai; dan (4) evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan sebagai berikut (1) meningkatnya  pemahaman  teori petani terkait dengan budidaya cabai yang ramah lingkungan padasaat off season;(2) petani siap mengadopsi dan menerapkan teknologi budidaya cabai off season yang rekomendasi oleh BALITSA (Balai Penelitian Sayuran) di lahan kering yang berfasilitas perpipaan irigasi tetes. Bentuk pendampinganyang masih diperlukan oleh petani seperti :pendampingan pemupukan cabai spesifik lokasi, strategi pencegahan OPT , pemiliharaan jaringan irigasi tetes, penguatan kelembagaan dan permodalan serta pendampingan pengembangan jaringan pemasaran produk pertanian.Abstract: This service activity aims to transfer chili cultivation technology that is environmentally friendly in the off season to farmers on dry land.The technology package transferred is the BALITSA recommendation package, which includes the use of superior varieties, water-efficient chili cultivation techniques with drip irrigation and seeding techniques.  These activities carried out on dry land with drip irrigation in Sambik Rindang, Salut Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, NTB Province.Activities carried out with a participatory approach to target farmers.Stages of service activities as follows: (1) establishing a joint agreement between farmers and service team in the implementation of activities, (2) extension chili cultivation theory in the off season, (3) making chili demontration plots and (4) evaluation of the activities. The results of the activities were as follows (1) increased understanding of farmers regarding the theory of environmentally friendly chili cultivation in the off season; (2) farmers are ready to adopt and apply the chili cultivation technology recommended by BALITSA (Balai penelitian sayuran) on dry land with drip irrigation piping facilities.  Furthermore, the form of assistance needed by farmer, such as: assistance for site specific chili fertilization, pest prevention strategies, drip irrigation network, institutional strengthening and capital and assistance in developing agricultural product marketing networks.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pupuk yang diberikan pada tanaman harus tepat sasaran, efektif dan efisien, maka rekomendasi pemupukan yang berimbang disusun berdasarkan status hara di dalam tanah yang diketahui melalui teknik uji tanah. Konsep rekomendasi pemupukan spesifik lokasi yang menunjang penerapan pemupukan berimbang berdasar uji tanah memerlukan data analisis tanah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan (1) memberikan pemahaman dan memperkaya pengetahuan petani terkait dengan aplikasi pupuk berimbang spesifik lokasi; (2) memperkenalkan dan mengajarkan teknik cepat uji tanah dengan cara sederhana dan dengan menggunakan PUTS/PUTK; dan (3) mempraktekkan pola pemupukan berimbang spesifik lokasi di lapangan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berlangsung selama lima bulan di dusun Sentul desa Pendua, kecamatan Kayangan, kabupaten Lombok Utara. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan adalah partisipasif, dimana anggota sasaran dilibatkan seara aktif mulai dari perencanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Proses pemberdayaan kepada petani sasaran meliputi: (1) penyuluhan, (2) kegiatan  praktek tehnik uji tanah dan (3) kegiatan praktik penerapan pemupukan berimbang spesifik lokasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian adalah mendapatkan respon positif dari peserta penyuluhan dan penguasaan peserta yang cukup baik terhadap materi penyuluhan yang dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya keterampilan peserta penyuluhan dalam melakukan pengujian kesuburan tanah dengan menggunakan PUTK dan mengaplikasikan hasil pengukuran dalam menentukan rekomendasi pemupukan spesifik lokasi. Abstract: Fertilizer given to plants must be right on target, effective and efficient, so balanced fertilization recommendations are prepared based on the nutrient status in the soil which is known through soil testing techniques. The concept of site-specific fertilization recommendations that support the application of balanced fertilization based on soil tests requires soil analysis data. This activity aims (1) to provide understanding and enrich farmers' knowledge regarding the application of site-specific balanced fertilizers; (2) introduce and teach rapid soil testing techniques in a simple way and by using PUTS / PUTK; and (3) practicing a location specific balanced fertilization pattern in the field. The community service activity lasts for five months in Sentul hamlet, Pendua village, Kayangan sub-district, North Lombok district. The approach method used is participatory, where target members are actively involved starting from planning, monitoring and evaluating activities. The empowerment process for target farmers includes: (1) counseling, (2) soil testing technical practice activities and (3) site specific balanced fertilization application practice activities. The results of the service activities were getting a positive response from the extension participants and a fairly good mastery of the participants on the extension material which can be seen from the increased skills of the extension participants in conducting soil fertility testing using PUTK and applying the results of measurements in determining fertilizer recommendations for specific locations.

Abstract

Persoalaan sampah rumah tangga, khususnya jenis sampah organic, masih menjadi issue yang mengemuka yang membutuhkan penyelesaian. Kebanyakan masyarakat masih menerapkan pola pengelolaan sampah konvensional yaitu menimbun sampah organic di suatu tempat/lokasi. Timbulan sampah ini berpotensi memunculkan masalah baru, seperti terjadi emisi gas metana (CH4), timbulnya bau yang tidak sedap, air lindi sampah berpotensi mencemari lingkungan. Karena itu kepada masyarakat perlu diberikan pembelajaran mengenai cara penanganan sampah organic untuk mengurangi jumlah sampah organic yang ditimbun di tempat pembuangan sampah. Salah satu caranya yaitu dengan memanfaatkan limbah organik segar, limbah buah dan/atau sayur, menjadi produk Eko-Ensim. Filtrat dari Eko-Ensim digunakan sebagai pupuk organic cair dan/atau pestisida nabati, sedangkan padatannya digunakan sebagai pupuk organic padat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan bermitra dengan Kelompok Pemanfaat Sampah “PaManSam” yang berlokasi di Desa Narmada Kecamatan Narmada Kabupaten Lombok Barat- NTB. Sebagai sasaran pembelajaran adalah petani milinial dan mahasiswa PKL di kelompok PaManSam. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan sosialisasi mengenai UU RI no 18 tahun 2008 dan Peraturan Daerah Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat Nomor 5 Tahun 2019 tentang Pengelolaan Sampah. Kegiatan kedua adalah Bimtek Pembuatan Eko-Ensim, diawali dengan persiapan bahan, pelaksanaan fermentasi Eko-Ensim, analisis karakteristik filtrat Eko-Ensim. Hasil kegiatan sebagai berikut, peserta kegiatan 1) memiliki pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan sampah menurut UU dan Peraturan Daerah yang berlaku; 2) menguasai teknik pembuatan Eko-Ensim; 3) Eko-Ensim yang dihasilkan ber-pH netral. Teknik pembuatan Eko- Ensim ini dapat diaplikasikan untuk membuatan produk lain dengan berbahan baku bahan organic segar

Abstract

Limbah kulit singkong dengan sejumlah kandungan senyawa organik yang ada di dalamnya menjadikan limbah organik ini masih memiliki potensi untuk diolah menjadi produk turunannya yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis. Salah satu produk turunannya adalah mengolah limbah kulit singkong menjadi kompos yang bermanfaat untuk menopang kesuburan tanah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan (1) memberikan pengayaan pengetahuan tentang kompos, proses pengomposan dan manfaat kompos untuk peningkatan produktivitas tanaman; (2) memberikan bimtek pembuatan mikroba pengurai bahan organik MOL dari bonggol pisang dan proses pengomposan limbah kulit singkong dengan metode Takakura modifikasi. Kegiatan ini menerapkan pendekatan partisipatif pada setiap tahap kegiatan mulai dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Peningkatkan pengetahuan khalayak sasaran tentang pupuk kompos dan proses pembuatannya diberikan melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi dan tanya jawab. Penguasaan cara pembuatan MOL dan proses pengomposan dengan metode Takakura modifikasi disampaikan dengan praktek langsung. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) kegiatan ini mendapat respon positif dan terjadi kerjasama yang baik antara khalayak sasaran dan pelaksana pengabdian; (2) khalayak sasaran mendapatkan ilmu pengetahuan tentang kompos, teknik pembuatan kompos dan manfaat kompos di bidang budidaya tanaman; (3) khalayak sasaran termotivasi untuk mengolah limbah kulit singkong menjadi kompos; (4) khalayak sasaran menguasai cara membuat MOL berbahan baku bonggol pisang.

Abstract

Farmers' understanding of how to fertilize efficiently and effectively is not yet fully mastered. Most farmers often fertilize crops beyond the recommended dosage. This community service aims to (1) increase farmers' understanding and knowledge of the quality of fertilizers and balanced fertilization technology to achieve the use of fertilizers that are relatively efficient, (2) disseminating balanced fertilization technology with the correct rules. This activity was started with an explanation of fertilizer and balanced fertilization technology, then continued with a balanced fertilization demonstration in Mumbu Village, Woja Subdistrict Dompu District in the planting season of MK 1 in 2018. As the target partner was the Bina Baru Farmer group, Mumbu Village, Woja Subdistrict, Dompu District and as a working partner is a local agricultural extension agent (PPL). The community service team acts as a facilitator, while the local PPL is tasked with assisting the farmers' demonstration activities. This community service activity uses a participatory approach starting from the beginning to the end of the activity in making decisions. The results of community service activities show as follows (1) there is an increase in farmers' understanding of the quality of fertilizers and determination of fertilizer application based on fertilizer quality in applying the site-specific balanced fertilization concept and (2) mastering the application of balanced fertilizer application technology with the 5 T. rule. Abstract

Climate change causes changes in rainfall patterns that is high intensity rain in a short duration. This situation could threaten the agricultural sector which impacts on national food security and food fulfillment for each household. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce an effective strategy to meet household food needs through the P2KP movement in dealing with the threat of climate change. This community service aims to: (1) providing an understanding of climate change and its impact on the food agriculture sector to the community; (2) socializing the "P2KP movement" accompanied by a demonstration plot of the use of house yards for cultivation of vegetables in pots. These community service activities implement a participatory pattern, in which the target community was involved in every decision making both in preparing, implementing, and evaluating the program activities. The results of the community service activities shows that the target community's knowledge of climate change and its impact on the agricultural sector has been successfully improved. The P2KP movement has been socialized and received a positive response from the target community, then they a;ready known to optimizing the use of home yards for cultivation of plants in pots becomes an alternative agricultural system that is resilient in the face of climate change.

Abstract

Increased productivity of red chili plants is done to meet consumer demand which continues to increase by increasing cultivation techniques, one of which is fertilization. So far, farmers on dry land only rely on the use of high amounts of inorganic fertilizers. While the use of inorganic fertilizers continuously without being balanced with the provision of organic fertilizers can reduce the quality and fertility of the soil. This extention service aims to (1) provide understanding and enrich knowledge to farmers in the dry land of North Lombok regency to use a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers in the cultivation of red chili, (2) practicing red chili cultivation techniques by giving a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Community service was carried out within a period of six months to the "Tani Tulen" farmer group partners in Sambik Rindang hamlet, Salut village, Khayangan sub-district, North Lombok district. The approach method was used, participatory with the target empowerment process includes: (1) counseling; (2) the practice of planting red chilies with a combination of inorganic fertilizers. The results shows that (1) an increase in understanding farmers about the importance of using manure (compost) in increasing soil fertility, (2) the used of manure of 5 tons/ha combined with 350 kg Urea, 300 kg SP-36, and 200 kg KCl provide good growth in red chili plants.

Abstract

Bioorganic-phosphate fertilizer is an organic fertilizer enriched with phosphate solubilizing rhizobacteria (PSR). The addition of PSR to organic fertilizers is intended to improve the quality of organic fertilizer. The purpose of this community service activity is to socialize the use of bioorganic-phosphate fertilizers on red chili plants for reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers. This service activity used a participatory approach. As a target farmer partner is the "Bahtera" farmer group in Narmada Village, Narmada District, West Lombok Regency. This activity began with establishing a joint agreement between the community service team and the target farmers through a group discussion (FGD). The next activity was an extension activity about "bioorganic-phosphate fertilizer, its role, and benefits". Next, Activity of demonstration plot of integrated fertilizing was made at the farmer land to show the difference in yield with/ without used the combination fertilizer of bioorganic-phosphate and inorganic fertilizer. The chili yields show that fertilizing of the combination of bioorganic-phosphate and 75% of the recommended fertilizer dosage is higher than the 100%  of the recommended dose. these community service activities achieve a positive response from farmers.  This socialization activity needs to be carried out in other locations so that more farmers applying a fertilization pattern by combining bioorganic-phosphate and inorganic fertilizers
