Abstract

The main problem currently faced is the increasing use of digital devices, especially among children under the age of 10, which can cause addiction and have a negative impact on children's development. The purpose of this Community Service activity is to increase the understanding and knowledge of parents who have children under the age of 10 regarding the hydroponic garden system and its potential to reduce gadget addiction in children. This activity uses interactive lecture and discussion methods to present materials related to the basic concepts, benefits, and techniques for implementing hydroponic farming. The discussion session gives participants the opportunity to ask questions and express their opinions so that their understanding of hydroponics deepens. The discussion includes the potential of hydroponic farming in developing children's creativity, environmental awareness, social interaction, and sense of responsibility. Hydroponic gardening activities are expected to divert children's attention from gadgets to productive and educational activities. In conclusion, hydroponics has great potential to reduce children's gadget addiction. Children's involvement in hydroponic gardening activities can develop healthier and more productive skills and habits, effectively diverting their attention from gadget screens.

Abstract

Millennial farmers are a young generation who have great potential in bringing positive changes in the agricultural sector. To maintain food security and the environment, it takes an active role of farmers, especially millennial farmers, in developing vegetable farming as a supporter of sustainable food houses. With the number of productive age population, it allows them to be actively involved in maintaining family food security by utilizing yard land to be planted with vegetables and various medicinal plants. Service activities were carried out in Kelising Village, Sekatak District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. The mechanism of activities is divided into several stages, namely survey, socialization, training and evaluation of activities. Training activities are the main activities in this service by providing training through skills in cultivating land/planting media, vegetable cultivation, vegetable care and marketing. This service activity was followed by quite high enthusiasm from the people of Kelising Village because previously they did not want to be involved in agriculture due to wrong perceptions about agriculture. With the assistance, training and motivation provided, it is hoped that the interest of the community, especially the young ones, to become millennial farmers will increase and it is hoped that Kelising Village can become a leader in the use of yard land through its millennial farmers.

Abstract

The potential of rice in the Eastern Sebatik district is quite high, supported by the presence of the domestic industry of processing rice plant into rice. However, the industry often encounters barriers, one of which is related to marketing. Rice marketing has always used a direct sales system. Along with the rapid development of technology, marketing activities continue to undergo significant changes. The consumer market itself is a method used lately by entrepreneurs to balance the current of development in an era where markets are no longer determined by traders but by consumers' markets. The problem formulation obtained based on the context of research is how to build competitive advantages of rice up to the micro level so that rice products available in Eastern Sebatik can be absorbed into the market according to the principle of the consumer market by considering three main factors: brand, product, and consumer. The objective of this research is to (1) Explore internal and external factors; (2) Analyze strategic factors based on SWOT analysis and analyze the most appropriate rice marketing strategy used in the Eastern Sebatik district. The research uses descriptive quantitative methods where descriptive analysis is required to describe the conditions of the rice industry to be used as the object of research, identifying internal and external factors. Quantitative analysis is needed to formulate marketing strategies using SWOT method. The research was carried out in April–June 2023 in Sebatik Eastern District, Nunukan District, Northern Kalimantan Province. Research results showed that the rice marketing strategy that can be used in Gapoktan Mamminasae is the SO strategy. Keywords : Marketing; Rice; SWOT INTISARIPotensi padi sawah di Kecamatan Sebatik Timur cukup tinggi dan didukung dengan keberadaan industri rumah tangga pengolahan padi menjadi beras. Namun, industri kerap kali menemui kendala salah satunya terkait dengan pemasaran. Pemasaran beras selama ini hanya menggunakan sistem penjualan langsung. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat membuat kegiatan pemasaran juga terus mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. Consumers market sendiri merupakan metode yang belakangan digunakan oleh para pelaku usaha untuk mengimbangi arus perkembangan zaman, di sini pasar tidak lagi ditentukan oleh pedagang tetapi oleh pasar konsumen. Rumusan masalah yang didapat berdasarkan konteks riset adalah bagaimana membangun keunggulan daya saing (competitive advantages) beras sampai pada tingkat mikro agar produk beras yang ada di Sebatik Timur bisa terserap pasar sesuai dengan prinsip consumers market dengan mempertimbangkan 3 faktor utama, yaitu brand, product, dan consumer. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Menelaah faktor internal dan eksternal; (2) Menganalisis faktor strategi berdasarkan analisis SWOT dan menganalisis strategi pemasaran beras yang paling tepat digunakan di Kecamatan Sebatik Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif, di sini analisis deskriptif diperlukan untuk menjabarkan kondisi industri beras yang akan digunakan sebagai objek penelitian, mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal. Analisis kuantitatif diperlukan untuk merumuskan strategi pemasaran dengan menggunakan metode matriks SWOT. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April – Juni 2023 di Kecamatan Sebatik Timur, Kabupaten Nunukan, Provinsi Kalimantan Utara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan strategi pemasaran beras yang dapat digunakan di Gapoktan Mamminasae adalah strategi SO. Kata Kunci : Beras; SWOT; Pemasaran.

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation requires supporting facilities, including buoys to maintain the stability of cultivation lines in marine waters. In coastal areas of Nunukan, discarded plastic bottles and shrimp feed containers are widely used as buoy materials, contributing to marine plastic waste accumulation. This study employed a single case study approach focusing on a pioneer entrepreneur producing recycled seaweed buoys in Mamolo, Southern Nunukan. The research aimed to analyze the value added and profitability of this business. Data were obtained from one respondent who actively manages buoy production, and the Hayami method was applied to estimate value added from processing plastic waste into seaweed buoys. The results showed that value added reached Rp 47,702.70. Margin distribution indicated that 2.83% was allocated to labor income, 10% to other inputs, and 87.22% to entrepreneur profit. The Margin of Safety was 75.08%, the MIR was 49.26%, and profit reached 36.99%, demonstrating both economic and environmental potential.

Abstract

STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach that integrates various disciplines to equip Students to face the challenges of the digital era and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The success of this innovative learning implementation depends on how a teacher designs a cohesive instructional scenario. In designing STEM learning that integrates the latest technology, Teachers need specific competencies outlined in the TPACK framework. The purpose of this research is to develop a learning design model based on the TPACK framework that integrates STEM approaches via IoT instruments, using a case study of the Smart Hydroponic System project, to hone Students' computational thinking logic using block code. In the research method employed, qualitative descriptive and experimental technical approaches with exploratory characteristics are used. This study succeeded in formulating seven elements of TPACK to convert complex STEM materials into "Playing Logic" activities that align with the cognitive capacity of elementary school Students. The development of the Arduino- and Tinkercad-based prototypes demonstrated the overall functionality of all components through black-box testing. The integration of IoT with the Project-Based Learning approach, as documented in the literature, has proven effective in transforming abstract concepts into concrete, interactive experiences without requiring mastery of complex textual programming. Overall, this framework provides practical solutions for Teachers/Educators in creating an exploratory STEM learning ecosystem, while significantly improving Students' computational thinking skills.
