Abstract

Every cultivar has characteristics that distinguish it from another cultivar. As opposed to within the cultivar it is required to be uniform and not indicate variations due to segregation. Knowledge of the characteristics of local rice and high-yielding cultivar will be more advantageous if it is supported by knowledge of the morphological changes of plant parts at each stage of growth. This study was conducted to determine the distinctness, uniformity, and stability of 10 potential upland rice genotypes and obtain information about growth stages based on phenology. The research was conducted based on an experimental study using a randomized block design with three replications. Observation of rice genotype characteristics was carried out based on the phenological measurement guide from the Biologische Bundesanstalt, bundessortenamt und CHemische Industrie (BBCH) for rice, and the DUS characterization guide from UPOV. The results showed that the growth stages of 10 rice genotypes consisted of 10 primary growth phases and there are variations in phenological phases in each genotype. Morphological characterization showed that 10 genotypes had a uniform and stable morphology and were grouped into 2 clusters. Cluster 1 consisting of G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G8, and G10. Cluster 2 consists of G6, G7, and G9. The phenology of rice and morphological differences indicate variations in the genetic potential that each genotype possesses. The timing of morphological and agronomic observations of rice can be determined using the information on plant phenology.

Abstract

Tanaman kemili merupakan tanaman pangan alternatif yang tumbuh subur di negara Indonesia. Namun, tanaman kemili sampai saat ini belum populer di kalangan masyarakat Bangka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman aksesi kemili (Solanostemon rotundifolius) di Kabupaten Bangka berdasarkan karakter morfologi dan mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan antar plasma nutfah kemili berdasarkan morfologi di Kabupaten Bangka. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai Juni 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara eksplorasi di Kabupaten Bangka dan dikarakterisasi secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ditemukan ada 3 aksesi yang terdapat di Kabupaten Bangka, yaitu aksesi Balunijuk, Kimak, dan Batu Rusa. Terdapat 2 kelompok hubungan kekerabatan berdasarkan morfologi dengan koefisien 0,65 atau 65%. Aksesi kemili yang diteliti memiliki variabilitas genetik dan variabilitas fenotipik yang sempit.  Kemili plants are an alternative food commodities that thrive in Indonesia. Kemili plants aren’t yet popular among the people of Bangka. The aim of the study was to determine the diversity of accessions of the kemili (Solanostemon rotundifolius) in Bangka Regency based on morphological characteristics and to determine the relationship between the germplasm of the Kemili (Solanostemon rotundifolius) based on morphology in Bangka Regency. The research was conducted from January to June 2021. The study used an experimental method. Sampling was taken by exploration in Bangka Regency and characterized by qualitative and quantitative characters. The results of the study found that there were 3 accessions found in Bangka Regency, namely Balunijuk, Kimak, and Batu Rusa. There are 2 groups of morphological relationships with qualitative characters with a coefficient of 0.65 or 65%. Kemili accession have narrow genetic variability, and phenotypic variability.

Abstract

Superior upland rice varieties can be obtained through the plant breeding process. Upland rice lines that are carried out from crossing have different potentials. The research aims to determine upland rice promising lines with high yields in acid-dry land. The study is conducted on Ultisol soil. The first season is in 2019 for F6 lines, and the second is in 2021 for F7 lines. The experimental methods use factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). The treatment at the preliminary yield test use 5 lines 4 varieties, and 1 landrace. The advanced yield test uses 5 F7 lines (selected from F6 lines) and 5 types. Analysis data use ANOVA and LSI test. The result shows that lines GH8 and GH10 have the highest yields on acid-dry soils during two planting seasons. The GH10 line has a 7.20-9.53 kg/plot yield, and the GH8 line has a 5.22-6.26 kg/plot. The highest yield potential was the GH10 line of 3.69-4.77 t/ha, more increased than Balok, Banyuasin, Danau Gaung, Inpago 8, and PBM-UBB1 varieties. GH10 and GH8 lines are recommended as candidates for new superior varieties of upland rice that are adaptive to acid-dry soils.

Abstract

Purple corn is a cereal plant that has health benefits. Purple corn contains anthocyanins, which are useful as anticancer and antioxidants, and has high nutritional value. Improving the quality of corn production can be done through plant breeding. This study aimed to determine the value of variability, heritability and expected genetic advance of F3 purple corn from open-pollinated hybridization. The research was conducted from December 2020 to April 2021 at Universitas Bangka Belitung. The study used a single plant design experimental method. The selection used was ear to row. The results showed that the color of the seeds of the F3 line was dominated by orange. The lines have different quantitative characters. The lines that have the most purple color were F3-PXU-11-25, F3-PXU-6-16, and F3-PXU-11-20. The value of phenotypic variability and genotypic variability of the broad criteria was found in the weight of corn cob with husk and without husk. The broad heritability was high on the weight corn cob with and without husk. The value of the expected genetic advance progress of the high criteria was on the characters of cob length, the weight of 100 seeds, the weight of corn cob with husk, and the weight of corn cob without husk.

Abstract

Air Abik Hamlet has abundant natural resources, especially medicinal plants. The population of medicinal plants will decrease if there is no effort to maintain the medicinal plants. The unavailability of a learning platform regarding efforts to preserve or conserve medicinal plants is one of the factors that become an obstacle in increasing public awareness of the importance of medicinal plant conservation to be carried out. This service aims to preserve medicinal plants typical of the Mapur custom through sustainable conservation activities and develop medicinal plant products that produce so that they can help realize a more advanced Air Abik Hamlet. The results of the service show that the background of the emergence of the medicinal plant conservation program is by looking at the potential of medicinal plants that must be maintained so that they are not lost and can be used as a business to improve the community's economy. The results of the program include the formation of in-situ and ex-situ conservation areas, a map of the distribution of medicinal plants, more innovative product packaging, and the formation of herbal medicine cafes are the basic stages for the service program so that program sustainability is still needed to develop conservation areas and patent medicinal plant products in Air Abik Hamlet.

Abstract

Dusun Air Abik, located in the Gunung Muda Village of the Belinyu District in Bangka Regency, has a potential natural landscape and local wisdom that is still being practiced, making it a primary value to be preserved. The indigenous tribe of Suku Lom or Urang Lom is led by a traditional leader who is a descendant of the original Urang Lom who does not have a belief system. The Mapur Customary Institution (LAM) has the task of preserving the traditions and beliefs of ancestors as well as preserving the customary forest. The PkM Dosen program aims to increase the creativity of the community in managing ecotourism potential by promoting local wisdom. The program includes workshops on the development of local wisdom-based tourism, branding and assistance in the use of social media and digital marketing for the development of medicinal plant education centers. The community faces both internal and external problems. Internal problems include stagnant social systems, belief systems regarding marriage (lineage), and threatened identity. External problems are focused on tenurial conflicts that have been going on for the past decade, namely the conflict over land disputes between palm oil plantation companies and Urang Lom, which threatens the preservation of local wisdom in the area. The community hopes that the community service program can provide a solution and have a positive impact on the process of Dusun Air Abik becoming a tourist village.

Abstract

Food sovereignty is an effort to fulfill food needs in a self-sufficient manner. Fulfilling food needs starting from the household level is considered capable of improving national food security. Land utilization up to the yard level is needed in order to achieve food sovereignty in an area. Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) was conducted in Jada Bahrin village as an effort to help achieve food sovereignty in the village. The expected output targets are: 1. Encouraging the optimization of the use of yard land for agricultural cultivation; 2. Facilitating the transfer of technology of food crop and horticultural cultivation systems and integrated pest control from the university level to the community; 3. Development of community independence, especially farmer groups in farming activities; 4. Improving the knowledge and skills of farmers in the utilization of yard land. The main activities carried out to achieve these output targets are: 1. Training on hydroponic cultivation system; 2. Training on making compost based on household waste; 3. Application of integrated pest control technology; 4. Training on making food products made from local plants; 5. Implementation of Village Farmer Consultation Activities. The results obtained during the Thematic KKN are: 1. Utilization of hydroponic systems in the village hall and residents' yards; 2. Utilization of household waste as compost raw material. 3. Pest control using papaya leaves; 4. Making dodol made from kemilik as a typical food of Jada Bahrin village; 5. Implementation of farmer meetings in 3 villages, namely Jada Bahrin, Balunijuk, and Kimak villages. In addition, it is expected that program sustainability will be achieved such as The utilization of Jada Bahrin Village's agricultural location as an example village for the application of simple hydroponic technology, and the establishment of a farmer clinic that can help farmers overcome pests and plant diseases.

Abstract

Kemandirian pangan dapat tercapai jika masyarakat mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pangan secara mandiri. Salah satu kegiatan pertanian yang mendukung kemandirian pangan masyarakat adalah program Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari (KRPL). Salah satu program KRPL paling populer saat ini adalah hidroponik. Hidroponik merupakan salah satu alternatif sistem budidaya pertanian yang cocok untuk lahan pekarangan karena dapat diterapkan pada lahan dan waktu yang terbatas. Upaya lain yang harus dilakukan untuk mendukung kemandirian pangan sekaligus kesejahteraan masyarakat adalah pemasaran produk pertanian. Hal ini karena seringkali produk panen hasil hidroponik berlebih namun sulit dipasarkan. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pelatihan atau penyuluhan terkait promosi dan pemasaran produk berbasis e-commerce dengan tujuan peningkatan daya saing dan daya jual produk pertanian masyarakat. Salah satu kelompok masyarakat yang memiliki potensi untuk pengembangan sekaligus percontohan KRPL serta pemasaran berbasis e-commerce adalah Panti Asuhan Yatim dan Dhuafa Putra Muhammadiyah. yang berlokasi di Desa Gantung, Kabupaten Belitung Timur. Terdapat 3 kegiatan utama yang telah dilaksanakan, yaitu sosialisasi kawasan rumah pangan lestari (KRPL), pelatihan hidroponik, dan pelatihan digital marketing. Selain itu telah dilaksanakan juga monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan melalui media komunikasi WhatsApp dan kunjungan langsung ke panti asuhan. Tim pengabdi juga secara berkala memantau permasalahan yang ditemui setelah pelatihan dan memberikan solusi untuk keberlanjutan program ini ke depannya.

Abstract

Proses perkecambahan padi merupakan langkah awal penting penentu perkembangan tanama dan dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan, seperti cekaman kemasaman. Sebagian besar lahan pertanian di Indonesia memiliki nilai pH yang rendah. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dialakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara karakter morfologis perkecambahan padi pada fase perkecambahan pada kondisi cekaman masam terhadap hasil panen pada lahan sawah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2022. Percobaan perkecambahan dilasanakan di Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman yang berada di Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya, sedangkan penanaman di lahan dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan milik Universitas Brawijaya, yang terletak di Kelurahan Jatimulyo, Kecamatan Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Media perkecambahan dipersiapkan dalam kondisi pH masam. Simulasi kondisi hujan asam atau simulated acid rain (SAR) disiapkan dengan menggunakan larutan buffer asam sulfur H2SO4. Variabel yang diamati meliputi analisis korelasi genotipik, fenotipik dan analisis jalur dilakukan menggunakan software OPSTAT. Hasil penelitan ini menunjukan bahwa karakter perkecambahan bobot kering tunas pada kondisi masam memiliki nilai korelasi genotipik dan fenotipik dan pengaruh langsung yang tinggi terhadap hasil. Karakter umur panen dan umur berbunga menunjukan nilai koefisien korelasi dan pengaruh langsung yang negatif terhadap hasil panen.

Abstract

Calon varietas harus memenuhi kriteria baru, unik, seragam dan stabil (BUSS). Galur sebagai calon varietas harus memiliki keseragaman yang tinggi. Stabilitas dari galur diuji dengan melakukan uji multilokasi. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui tingkat keseragaman galur F8 padi gogo, dan menentukan galur F8 padi gogo yang dapat dilepas sebagai varietas unggul baru. Pelaksanaan penelitian bulan Agustus 2022 hingga April 2023. Tempat penelitian di Desa Air Rayak Kecamatan Tanjungpandan Kabupaten Belitung. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), terdapat 3 blok. Perlakuan terdiri dari 5 galur F8 (191-06-09-23-03, 21B-57-21-21-23, 23F- 04 10-18-18, 23A-56-20-07-20 dan 23A-56-22-20-05) dan 5 varietas pembanding (Inpago 8, Inpago 12, Rindang 1, Danau Gaung dan PBM UBB 1). Analisis data menggunakan uji Fisher (analisis of variance), Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT), uji variabilitas dan uji keseragaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa galur F8 memiliki nilai variabilitas genotip dan fenotip yang sempit pada semua karakter yang diamati. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keseragaman galur yang diuji tinggi. Persentase keseragaman yang diperoleh pada galur F8 yaitu 100%. Galur F8 yang dapat direkomendasikan sebagai calon varietas unggul baru yaitu galur 23A-56-20-7-20 untuk beras putih dan galur 23A-56-22-20-5 untuk beras merah dengan persentase keseragaman 100%.
