Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi mengharapkan siswa memiliki keterampilan metakognitif. Keterampilan metakognitif adalah keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh siswa untuk mengontrol kemampuan berpikirnya. Hasil-hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kurang memiliki keterampilan metakognitif dan guru masih belum paham tentang pemberdayaan metakognitif. Pemberdayaan keterampilan metakognitif dapat dilakukan melalui penerapan model pembelajaran konstruktivistik yaitu pada model pembelajaran ERCoRe. Model pembelajaran ERCoRe dikembangkan dengan prosedur pengembangan model mengacu pada Plomp (1997) terdiri dari 5 fase yaitu (1) fase investigasi awal, (2) fase desain, (3) fase realisasi/konstruksi, (4) fase tes, evaluasi, revisi, dan (5) fase implementasi. Komponen model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa sintaks, sistem sosial, prinsip reaksi dalam hal ini peran guru dalam memproses pembelajaran, sistem pendukung, dan dampak instruksional dan dampak pengiring. Sintaks model yang dikembangkan sebagai berikut. 1) Elicitation, 2) Restructuring, 3) Confirmation, 4) Reflection yang disingkat dengan ERCoRe. Produk telah divalidasi dengan hasil uji ahli menyatakan produk model dalam kategori layak. Produk model pembelajaran akan diuji melalui quasi eksperimen untuk mengetahui efektivitas dalam memberdayakan keterampilan metakognisi.

Abstract

Blended Learning has both advantages and limitations. Especially in the Biology subject which contains Biology material, it is not only related to the concept of concrete scientific facts, but also the concept of abstract objects. This study aims to determine the response of students and teachers to self-regulated learning through Blended Learning. This research is a survey. The sample in this study were teachers and students of class X SMA Parepare. Data analysis Data analysis of research results was carried out with qualitative descriptive analysis in the form of descriptions based on research findings. The results showed that there were main problems experienced by class X students in learning biology, students had difficulty understanding the material, the emergence of misconceptions, students became less focused in learning. Meanwhile, the teacher's perception is that it is difficult to control student learning, and it is difficult to understand students. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there are many obstacles experienced by students and teachers in learning biology, so that it requires attention and good teaching techniques to improve learning outcomes and the quality of student learning.

Abstract

Masyarakat di Kabupaten Pinrang sebagian besar memiliki mata pencarian sebagai petani. Kecamatan Cempa mempunyai potensi besar sebagai daerah penghasil beras di Kabupaten Pinrang. Namun terdapat suatu kendala yang sering dihadapi oleh petani yaitu adanya Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT) berupa serangga hama yang dapat berakibat pada penurunan produktivitas padi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Cempa, Kabupaten Pinrang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan jaring ayun, yang dilakukan sebanyak 10 kali ayunan pada setiap petak lahan persawahan di tiga titik lokasi. Serangga yang tertangkap dimasukkan ke dalam toples yang berisikan alkohol 70% kemudian mencatat jenis-jenis serangga hama yang ditemukan. Serangga yang didapatkan diidentifikasi secara langsung dengan menggunakan buku kunci determinasi dan dihitung secara manual lalu dianalisis menggunakan rumus indeks Shannon-Wiener. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh serangga hama pada lokasi penelitian sebanyak 9 spesies yaitu belalang hijau, walang sangit, ulat grayak, penggerek batang kuning, penggerek batang putih, lembing batu, wereng cokelat, kepik hijau, dan kepinding tanah. Keanekaraaman jenis serangga hama menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman serangga hama pada titik pengamatan I Desa Mangki (H’: 1,67), titik pengamatan II Desa Mattunrutunrue (H’: 1,68), dan titik pengamatan III Kelurahan Cempa (H’: 1,92). Ketiganya menunjukkan indeks keanekaragaman kriteria 1 < H’ ≤ 3 yang berarti keanekaragaman sedang. Hal ini disebabkan karena banyaknya ketersediaan makanan sehingga serangga hama memanfaatkan tanaman padi tersebut sebagai pakan, tempat peletakan telur dan secara tidak langsung serangga berperan sebagai vektor penyakit tanaman.

Abstract

Sampah merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat. Keberadaan sampah yang tidak dikelola dengan baik dapat memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan. Permasalahan sampah yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat nelayan adalah pencemaran air laut akibat sampah. Sampah plastik dapat menghasilkan mikroplastik yang dapat mengganggu ekosistem yang ada di laut yang akan secara otomatis berdampak bagi kesehatan jika mengkonsumsi ikan dan hewan laut lainnya. Pemahaman masyarakat terkait dengan pengelolaan sampah juga masih sangat minim. Sehingga melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan edukasi kepada masyarakat nelayan terkait dengan sampah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Watang Suppa, Kecamatan Suppa, Kabupaten Pinrang terbagi atas dua tahapan utama yaitu observasi permasalahan masyarakat nelayan terkait dengan sampah dan pemberian materi edukasi terkait dengan sampah. Materi yang diberikan berupa pembahasan tentang jenis-jenis sampah, dampak lingkungan yang ditimbulkan akibat sampah dan dampak ekonomi yang didapatkan dari pengelolaan sampah. Masyarakat juga mendapatkan informasi tentang pengelolaan sampah dengan metode 3R Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terkait sampah membutuhkan sinergitas antara pemerintah dan perguruan tinggi dalam melakukan edukasi dan pendampingan.

Abstract

Plastic type material is a material that is often used by many people in everyday life, the use of plastic materials, especially working in the world of health, industry or household, many people make plastic materials such as glass, plates, and more used as the necessities of everyday life. The sheer amount of plastic use has the potential to increase Polluttion and it is also very bad for the environment, mostly plastic materials are dumped without further processing, to reduce the impact of plastic materials needed for chopping tools to reduce the accumulation process. Using an AC motor as a drive system for chopping the plastic can make the plastic into a smaller part.

Abstract

The teaching of science communication skills at the high school level can be effectively accomplished through lessons that are oriented not only towards the development of cognitive skills, but also towards the acquisition of hands-on communication skills. The present study employs an experimental research design to investigate the impact of NHT-type cooperative learning on students' science communication skills. This study employs an experimental design comprising an class and a control class. The study population comprised students at X MIPA UPT SMAN 2 The X MIPA 3 class was designated as the experimental class, while the X MIPA 7 class served as the control class. Sampling was conducted using a randomised system. The data employed in this study were derived from two sources: primary data collected via the science communication skills rubric and secondary data obtained through observation of student and teacher activities. The data collection instrument was a science communication skills observation sheet that had previously been tested for validity and reability. The data were analysed using the Friedman test, which revealed significant differences in students' science communication skills between the control and experimental classes at each meeting (p < 0.05). Similarly, the Wilcoxon test demonstrated a significant difference between the control and experimental classes at each meeting (p < 0.05). The findings of this study suggest that further research should be conducted at a larger scale to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the rubric of science communication skills.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in the city of Parepare continues to fluctuate. Watang Bacukiki Village, located in Lappa Anging Village, is a remote area outside the city limits with limited access to education. It is also a region with a high incidence of stunting. One strategy for controlling the stunting rate is to educate the community about the causes and consequences of stunting. This approach can help to reduce the prevalence of stunting by empowering communities to take action to improve their understanding of this issue and its associated risks. The community service activity was conducted using a combination of lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer methods. Prior to the activity, a pretest was administered to 22 respondents, all of whom were female and ranged in age from 27 to 45 years. This provision aims to ascertain the respondents' initial knowledge about stunting and then provide them with education and subsequent measurement of changes in their knowledge. A data analysis was conducted to ascertain these changes, employing the McNemar test. The results demonstrated a statistically significant change with a p-value of 0.000, exceeding the alpha level of 0.05. This indicates that there were notable shifts in knowledge before and after the educational intervention. The findings suggest that there were changes in the knowledge of the Lappa Anging Village community regarding stunting. Based on these results, it is recommended to re-evaluate the service activities, for instance, by innovating high-nutrition food recipes for pregnant women and children under two years of age.

Abstract

Integrating local cultural elements into education represents a strategic approach to preserving cultural heritage while increasing student engagement in understanding science, technology, engineering, art, and maths (STEAM) concepts. This research employed a qualitative case study approach, conducted in schools in Pangkep Regency. Data were collected through interviews with educators and cultural experts, participatory observations, and document analysis, while the findings were examined using thematic analysis. The objectives of this study are threefold: firstly, to identify local traditional games that can be integrated into STEAM learning; secondly, to analyze their impact on students' cognitive and social skills; and thirdly, to propose effective implementation strategies. The study's results demonstrated that traditional games such as Gandrang Bulo, Magasing-gassing, and Enggo-enggo possess considerable educational potential, enhancing science literacy and motor skills and fostering cultural identity and cooperative learning. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the challenges posed by limited educational resources and teacher readiness, which must be surmounted for the successful implementation of this approach. The study proposes the formulation of a structured curriculum that integrates these cultural elements, to enrich STEAM learning and foster a more profound appreciation of local cultural heritage among students.
