Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe an Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) Sequence-based e-Worksheet with a valid STEM approach to stimulate students' communication skills in challenging learning through the Google Classroom platform and its practicality. The development research model is ADDIE, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The data from this research are the results of validation and practicality, analyzed using mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative). The results of the data analysis show that the average e-worksheet validity is 3.77 in the very valid category, and the practicality proportion is 93.6% in the very practical category. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that; 1) an e-Worksheet based on an IBL Sequence with a valid STEM approach to stimulate students' communication skills in bold learning through the Google Classroom platform, which contains stages of IBL learning with a STEM approach containing activities that stimulate indicators of students' communication skills; and 2) Practicality of the IBL Sequence-based e-Worksheet with the STEM approach to stimulate students' communication skills in daring learning through the Google Classroom platform which is categorized as very practical, so that it can be used in high school Physics learning, class X odd semester, materials for Changing Straight Motion Order.

Abstract

A performance feature is a domain-specific to the organization of knowledge. Well-organized knowledge is characterized when students are able to collaborate the knowledge features of the physics problem.  The knowledge feature can be a cognitive activity where teachers influence students by changing the pattern of knowledge from "defining" to "applying" knowledge. This research aims to analyze whethet the cognitive activity from the teacher can generate student’s argumentation performance features or no. This study is a qualitative descriptive study which involved 100 of high school students in Bandar Lampung.   The data  was collected using a research instrument in the form of reasoned multiple choices which has been validated.  The results of this study showed that students' involvement in cognitive activity by following variety of procedures can generate student’s argumentation performance fetaures.

Abstract

One alternative for students to actively participate in education is to teach material through a practicum with a thermal-electric energy conversion tool equipped with Student Worksheet (SW). This matter shows that SW is a crucial subject to develop. This research aims to develop SW to stimulate students' critical thinking skills in the heat-electric energy conversion material. The research design used is ADDIE. The validity test instrument measures the validity of the SW by the expert and the small group test. The validity test results and the small group test show that the developed SW is valid and able to stimulate critical thinking skills so that the resulting SW is suitable to be used as an alternative moderate in learning material for thermal-electric energy conversion.

Abstract

Integrated STEM 3.0 Approach to Enhance Critical Thinking Skills. Critical Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effect of the STEM 3.0 approach assisted by real material and virtual simulation to enhance the CTS. Methods: The research method used Quasi-Experimental Designs with Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were high school students of Class XI in Surabaya. Findings: Based on the research data, the increase in the CTS of students in the 2 experimental classes was classified as moderate with an average n-gain value of students in class A2 of 0.69 and class A5 of 0.63 while the increase in CTS in the control class was classified as moderate with a lower value (a score of 0.36). Based on the results of statistical tests, there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Conclusion: Thus, it is concluded that the integrated STEM 3.0 approach can enhance the CTS. Keywords: integrated STEM 3.0, CTS, real material, virtual simulations.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i3.202219

Abstract

Problem Solving Skills Development Strategies in The Context of Building Disaster Resilience. This study will provide an alternative strategy that can be done to improve problem solving skills, on children in the context of building the disaster resilience which are integrated in the learning process of science through community learning strategy. Qualitative and psychosocial research ethnography was conducted on 34 students in the District of the West Coast as the area with the most potential to experience the devastating earthquake and tsunami. Data were obtained using a strategy of focused group discussions and depth interviews with elements of the school community which are teachers, and parents. The purpose of the involvement of the school community was to get the data in understanding the resilience of students. The research proved that resilience is at the levels which are still low and this condition further provide recommendations related to alternative strategies for the development of higher level thinking skills for students in disaster prone areas. Keyword: problem solving skills, disaster resilience, elementary school students, school community DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v6.i1.201601
