Abstract

The process of producing briquettes from coconut shells is a promising alternative for waste utilization, creating products with high economic value for small industries. Coconut shell briquettes have a relatively high calorific value and are environmentally friendly. However, the production process, particularly in making charcoal and briquettes, still requires more efficient techniques and technology. The type of furnace used significantly affects the characteristics of the charcoal briquettes produced. The results of the study indicate that both combustion methods have a significant impact on the quality of the charcoal briquettes. The open furnace made of iron material required less time compared to the closed furnace combustion method. However, the closed furnace method is safer as it prevents direct contact with fire during combustion. In the combustion tests conducted three times using a closed furnace made of drum or zinc material, the charcoal yield was approximately 20%. A combustion test using 20 kg of coconut shell material produced 7.5 kg more charcoal with the closed furnace compared to the open furnace made of iron plate material. Additionally, the smoke produced from the closed furnace was minimal but steady throughout the combustion process. When compared to the quality requirements outlined in SNI 01-6235-2000, the results showed that five parameters met the standard requirements: moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content, fixed carbon content, and calorific value. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that both combustion methods have their respective advantages. The selection of the appropriate method can be tailored to production needs and environmental considerations.

Abstract

AbstractWater treatment and sanitation is one part of Operational maintenance at PT Angkasa Pura Solusi engaged in repair and maintenance services for water treatment and sanitation equipment. This study aims to measure workload and optimise the number of personnel in the Water treatment and sanitation subunit at PT Angkasa Pura Solusi, Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta Airport. By using the Workload Analysis (WLA) and NASA-TLX methods. Workload Analysis (WLA) method to analyse workload based on the level of productivity of personnel, and NASA-TLX to assess mental workload based on six dimensions. The results showed that the average workload experienced by Water treatment and sanitation personnel was 82.28 using the NASA-TLX method and the workload analysis value was 109%. Where both values lead to an overload burden experienced by personnel. By optimising the number of personnel through additional manpower and appropriate division of tasks is expected to improve the efficiency and welfare of personnel. The findings provide a recommendation to periodically evaluate and adjust the number of workers as well as adjustments to the workload distribution to ensure optimal operational performance and better worker welfare. Abstract

This literature review explores the relationship between promotion and employee work performance within the context of regional water service companies. Promotion is often used as a motivational tool in organizational settings, aiming to reward achievements and encourage higher performance. However, the effectiveness of promotion policies varies depending on organizational culture, fairness, and the clarity of performance metrics. Through thematic analysis of existing research, this study finds that while promotion generally has a positive impact on motivation and commitment, its benefits can diminish when the process lacks transparency or objective criteria. The findings highlight the importance of merit-based promotion systems, coupled with training and support, to ensure that employees succeed in their new roles. This review provides insight for regional service organizations aiming to improve employee performance through well-structured human resource strategies.

Abstract

Strategic planning is a critical process that enables organizations to align their goals with performance outcomes in a dynamic operational environment. This study explores how strategic planning can be developed through organizational performance evaluation using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework. Employing a qualitative approach based on secondary data analysis, the research investigates the strategic relevance of four BSC perspectives—financial, customer, internal business processes, and learning and growth—by examining organizational reports, performance audits, and planning documents. Findings indicate that while the financial and internal business process perspectives are well-integrated into strategic decision-making, the learning and growth perspective remains underutilized. The results highlight the value of secondary data in extracting actionable insights and underscore the importance of a balanced approach to performance evaluation. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating how the BSC can be applied qualitatively to support strategic development without the need for primary data collection.

Abstract

Women's liberation theology, developed by Riffat Hassan, offers a critical hermeneutical approach to interpreting Islamic sacred texts in a way that is more inclusive and just towards women. Riffat Hassan's thinking highlights that many patriarchal interpretations that harm women come from the dominant social and cultural context, not from the text itself. This research uses a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. Through critical hermeneutic analysis, this research emphasizes the principles of justice, equality, and human dignity in Islam as a foundation for reforming religious understandings and practices that discriminate against women. In the context of Islamic law in Indonesia, this thinking is highly relevant to review and reform various aspects of family and civil law. Reforming inheritance, marriage and divorce laws based on the principles of gender justice can enhance the protection and rights of women. Riffat Hassan's opposition to all forms of violence against women provides a theological basis for strengthening stricter legal provisions. Increasing women's participation in leadership and politics is also supported through an egalitarian re-reading of religious texts. By adopting a more inclusive approach, Islamic law in Indonesia can be more responsive to social change and create a more just and equal system for women.

Abstract

This study focuses on the study of texts (Al-Qur'an and Hadith) about war, tracing history, and ending with a study of the types of warfare that are permitted in Islam. This research is based on library research, of course there are several methodological tools used to find answers; in collecting data, of course, it refers to the main sources namely Al-Qur'an and Hadith by applying the work patterns of the maudhu 'method, then it is equipped with references to interpretation and historical books. While in the analysis, researchers used the double movement theory Fazlur Rahman. In this study conclude that in the Islamic conception, the problem of war has been arranged comprehensively, both at the goal stage, the conditions for allowing war, to the ethics of war, have been described in detail. In principle, in Islam, war is only legalized in very emergency situations (forced), such as to resist enemy attacks, defend the rights that have been violated by the enemy, and protect the security of Islamic da'wah. Islam only justifies war if attacks do occur or are real.

Abstract

Several studies have found that Indonesian youths (17-24 years old) are vulnerable to religious radicalism. As a result, fostering tolerance among them has been critical. This article describes how Indonesian youths understand religious tolerance and then offers suggestions to foster the attitude of tolerance among Indonesian youth through Muslim-Christian dialogs. For that purpose, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held with ten Indonesian youths (five Muslims and five Christians), which discussed open questions about the issue of tolerance. The discussion's outcomes were examined using a theoretical framework of religious tolerance and inter-religious dialogue. So practical suggestions are obtained for fostering tolerance among Indonesian youth. Such as theological understanding that leads to tolerance and pluralism.

Abstract

The encounter between the concept of democracy and religious teachings, especially Islam, is interesting to discuss. This raises several relevant questions: Can democracy be considered within the framework of Islamic teachings? Are democratic values in line with Islamic teachings? Can Islamic principles be juxtaposed with democracy? In addition, what are the views of Islamic scholars, such as Abdul Karim Soroush, on the issue of democracy? Through a literature review, we can find some unique thoughts from Abdul Karim Soroush that are interesting to listen to. One of them is his concept of religious democracy, which also tries to redefine the meaning of religion and the understanding of religion itself. According to Soroush, democracy is currently an established idea. He also argues that democracy is not a monolithic concept, and neither is Islam. Although originating from Western culture, democracy can adapt to local conditions when it interacts with the local cultural context. Therefore, Soroush emphasized that there is no need to be afraid of democracy.
