Abstract

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are an efficient defense against network attacks as well as host attacks as they allow network/host administrators to detect any policy violations. However, traditional IDS are vulnerable and unreliable for new malicious and genuine attacks. In other case, it is also inefficient to analyze large amount of data such as possibility logs. Furthermore, for typical OS, there are a lot of false positives and false negatives. There are some techniques to increase the quality and result of IDS where data mining is one of technique that is important to mining the information that useful from a large amount of data which noisy and random. The purpose of this study is to combine three technique of data mining to reduce overhead and to improve efficiency in intrusion detection system (IDS). The combination of clustering (Hierarchical) and two categories (C5, CHAID) is proposed in this study. The designed IDS is evaluated against the KDD'99 standard Data set (Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining), which is used to evaluate the efficacy of intrusion detection systems. The suggested system can detect intrusions and categorize them into four categories: probe, DoS, U2R (User to Root), and R2L (Remote to Local). The good performance of IDS in case of accuracy and efficiency was the result of this study.

Abstract

Previous research on school wellbeing has highlighted the need for its implementation in schools. This research aims to uncover two elements influencing school well-being: self-determination and patience. This study used quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis. The population in this study was 672 students of classes X, XI, and XII at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta. The sampling technique employed in this study was cluster-random sampling with a sample of 178 students. The results showed an F-value of 27.182 with an absolute significance level (p-value) of 0.01, so the major hypothesis was accepted. The self-determination and patience variables simultaneously (together) could affect school well-being. The effect of self-determination on school well-being was 20%, while patience only contributed 3.67%. This research revealed (1) there was a positive influence of self-determination and patience on the well-being of vocational school students, (2) there was a positive effect of partial self-determination on school well-being, meaning that partial self-determination could predict school well-being, and (3) there was no partial positive effect of patience on school well-being, indicating that partial patience could not predict school well-being.

Abstract

In the fast-paced and dynamic modern era, the role of mothers as working women faces complex challenges in forming and managing teamwork within the family, especially with Generation Z children. This research explores mothers' experiences dealing with these dynamics and their strategies to manage their dual roles. Employing a phenomenological approach, this study deepens the understanding of the complexity of modern families and how mothers as working women adapt to their roles. Through in-depth interviews and phenomenological analysis, the research explores various aspects that influence mothers' ability to create effective teamwork within the family. The findings provide valuable insights into the role of mothers in managing the dynamics of modern families and their impact on the development of Generation Z children in the current digital era. By understanding the experiences and strategies of mothers as working women, this research makes a significant contribution to understanding the dynamics of modern families and the challenges parents face in raising their children in an ever-changing world.

Abstract

Marriage satisfaction is a complex interplay of various factors, encompassing sexual dynamics, communication patterns, and individual personality traits. However, within the cultural context of Indonesia, empirical research examining these dynamics is notably scarce. This study endeavors to fill this void by delving into the intricate relationships among sexual imagination, communication styles, personality traits, and marital satisfaction among 254 married individuals in Indonesia. Employing a cross-sectional design, data were gathered through online surveys utilizing validated instruments, including the International Index of Erectile Function, the Female Sexual Function Index, the Sexual Daydreaming Scale, the Dyadic Sexual Communication Scale, and the Interpersonal Exchange Model of Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire. Through statistical analysis, the study unveils compelling insights into the dynamics shaping marital contentment in the Indonesian context. The findings illuminate a nuanced landscape: a negative correlation emerges between sexual fantasies and marital satisfaction, indicating a potential tension between individual fantasies and conjugal fulfillment. Conversely, positive correlations are observed between effective sexual communication and certain personality traits (such as openness and empathy) with marital satisfaction, emphasizing the pivotal role of transparent dialogue and interpersonal qualities in fostering marital harmony. These findings hold significant implications for marital counseling and intervention strategies tailored to the Indonesian cultural context. By acknowledging and addressing the nuanced dynamics of sexual imagination, communication, and personality traits within marriages, practitioners can better support the well-being of married couples in Indonesia, ultimately contributing to stronger and more fulfilling marital relationships..

Abstract

Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, often lead to severe crises and adversity in family life due to significant psychological, economic, and social pressures. This situation has been experienced by families who survived the earthquake in Cianjur Regency, Indonesia. These families face profound challenges and crises that have left them in vulnerable conditions. In such circumstances, the ability of families to adapt and recover, referred to as family resilience becomes crucial to ensuring the ongoing well-being of all family members. One important factor that can influence the development of family resilience is the ability of family members to manage and regulate their emotions adaptively in the face of post-disaster stress and uncertainty. Emotion regulation strategies have been shown to play a significant role in coping and adaptation processes within families during various crisis situations. Understanding how the implementation of specific emotion regulation strategies influences the development of family resilience is essential for providing appropriate support to help families overcome adversity and recover more effectively. However, research specifically examining the role of these emotion regulation strategies on family resilience among populations affected by natural disasters in Indonesia remains limited. This quantitative, non-experimental study investigates the role of two emotion regulation strategies cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression in predicting family resilience among 100 survivors. Participants completed standardized measures of emotional regulation and family resilience. Data were analysed using multiple linear regression. Results showed that both cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression significantly and independently predicted family resilience, with expressive suppression contributing more strongly to the model. These findings challenge the conventional view that suppression is universally maladaptive and suggest that, in high-stress contexts such as post-disaster recovery, suppression may serve as a short-term stabilizing mechanism. The study contributes to disaster psychology literature by highlighting the contextual function of emotion regulation strategies in fostering family adaptation. Implications include the need for culturally sensitive resilience interventions that integrate flexible emotion regulation training for affected families.

Abstract

Social media has profoundly reshaped the way youth interact, communicate, and build relationships in the digital age. As platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and WhatsApp become central to daily life, understanding their psychosocial impacts on young people is critical. This scoping review aims to map and synthesize existing research on how social media influences youth social interaction patterns. A total of 82 studies published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed, covering diverse cultural and geographical contexts. Thematic analysis identified four key areas: (1) social media as a catalyst for friendship formation, (2) evolving communication styles shaped by visual and ephemeral content, (3) the rise of digital intimacy and emotional support networks, and (4) the amplification of peer conflict, social comparison, and algorithmic pressures. The findings reveal both opportunities (e.g., global connections and creative self-expression) and risks (e.g., performative self-presentation, cyberbullying, and FOMO). Practical recommendations include implementing digital literacy programs in education, fostering authentic connections through platform design, and developing policies for algorithmic transparency and youth online safety. This review highlights the need for intersectional and globally aware frameworks and calls for longitudinal research to inform interventions that promote youth well-being in digital spaces.
