Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkenalkan teknologi pembelajaran berbasis Virtual reality (VR) di SMKN 3 Makassar sebagai bagian dari adaptasi pendidikan era Society 5.0. Teknologi VR menawarkan pembelajaran yang interaktif, personal, dan mendalam, cocok untuk jurusan Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup identifikasi masalah melalui observasi dan wawancara, perencanaan program, implementasi kegiatan, monitoring dan evaluasi, serta dokumentasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa VR membantu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa melalui visualisasi 3D perangkat keras jaringan komputer. Kegiatan melibatkan presentasi, tanya jawab, dan demonstrasi VR, yang disambut antusias oleh 45 siswa dan 2 guru pendamping. Peserta belajar bahwa VR tidak hanya untuk hiburan, tetapi juga efektif sebagai media pembelajaran. Evaluasi menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan tinggi, dengan 89% peserta merasa sangat puas dan 11% puas. Pengabdian ini memberikan pengetahuan dan pengalaman baru kepada siswa dan guru dalam menggunakan teknologi VR, yang diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi pengembangan media pembelajaran di sekolah kejuruan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pemasaran melalui media sosial dalam meningkatkan daya tarik Jurusan Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi Universitas Islam Makassar bagi calon mahasiswa baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 100 calon mahasiswa yang berminat melanjutkan studi di jurusan tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner daring yang disebarkan melalui Instagram, Facebook, dan WhatsApp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 78% responden mengetahui jurusan tersebut melalui media sosial, menegaskan peran dominan media sosial sebagai sumber informasi pendidikan tinggi bagi calon mahasiswa. Instagram menjadi platform utama (65% responden), diikuti oleh TikTok (20%) dan Facebook (15%). Sebanyak 85% responden menilai konten pemasaran media sosial jurusan menarik dan informatif, dan 70% responden mengaku lebih tertarik memilih jurusan setelah rutin melihat konten tersebut. Namun, 15% responden merasa informasi yang diperoleh dari media sosial belum cukup untuk menentukan pilihan, sehingga diperlukan tambahan informasi akademik dan prospek karier yang lebih mendalam. Kesimpulannya, pemasaran media sosial berperan signifikan dalam meningkatkan ketertarikan calon mahasiswa terhadap jurusan tersebut, terutama melalui platform yang populer di kalangan generasi muda, sehingga promosi pendidikan tinggi pun bergeser ke ranah digital. Untuk memaksimalkan konversi ketertarikan menjadi keputusan pendaftaran, strategi pemasaran media sosial perlu dilengkapi dengan penyediaan informasi akademik dan prospek karier yang komprehensif.

Abstract

The development of digital technology brings major changes in the world of education, including the maritime sector. One of the relevant and potential technologies is Augmented Reality (AR), which can integrate virtual objects into the real world in real-time, thus providing an immersive and interactive learning experience. This study aims to implement AR-based learning media introducing ship safety devices, such as life jackets, ring buoys, lifeboats, and fire extinguishers, and measure its effectiveness compared to conventional methods. The research method used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (pretest-post test control group design). The research sample was fourth semester Nautical students at Makassar Polytechnic of Shipping Science (PIP), with the division of experimental groups using AR and control groups using conventional methods. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of ship safety devices. The average score increased from 58.49 (pretest) to 66.94 (post test). The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test result-ed in a p value = 0.003 (p < 0.05), which confirms the effectiveness of AR in improving learning outcomes. This finding shows that AR not only helps visualize abstract concepts to be more concrete but also increases student motivation and engagement. This study recommends the use of AR as a learning media innovation in the maritime field, while encouraging the development of broader, collaborative, and sustainable interactive content.

Abstract

The background of this study is based on the existence of non compliance in the implementation of work safety procedures during the tank cleaning process on MT. Geraldine, especially in entering cargo tanks before the tank condition was declared safe based on gas measurement results. This condition may increase the risk of work accidents such as gas poisoning, oxygen deficiency, and explosions caused by hydrocarbon vapors. This study aims to analyze the implementation of work safety procedures during the tank cleaning process and identify the factors causing the lack of crew compliance with safety procedures. This research used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation during sea practice on board MT. Geraldine. The research informants consisted of the Chief Officer, Second Officer, Bosun, Able Seaman (AB), and Pumpman. Data analysis techniques used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing supported by NVivo 12 software. The results showed that the implementation of work safety procedures during the tank cleaning process on MT. Geraldine had not been carried out optimally. The non-compliance with procedures was influenced by operational time pressure, lack of crew understanding of work hazards, weak supervision, and ineffective safety meetings. Efforts that can be made include improving the quality of safety meetings, conducting regular safety training, strengthening supervision, and increasing crew awareness of the importance of complying with work safety procedures in accordance with ISM Code and ISGOTT standards.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors causing health problems among ship crew during the cargo hold cleaning process on KM Tonasa Line XII using a qualitative descriptive method through observation and interviews. The results show that although the work implementation has followed established procedures, there are still health risks due to exposure to cement dust. The cleaning process, which is carried out manually, along with the enclosed, hot conditions of the cargo hold and limited ventilation, increases the concentration of dust in the air. The impacts experienced by the crew include respiratory disorders, eye and skin irritation, and physical fatigue. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is not yet optimal due to limited availability, inadequate condition, and discomfort during use. In addition, the lack of supervision and training affects the low level of awareness and compliance in using PPE. Fishbone analysis identifies six main contributing factors: human, work methods, equipment, materials, environment, and management. Control measures include improving discipline in PPE usage, optimizing the use of dust collectors, improving ventilation systems, and conducting regular safety training to minimize health risks among the crew.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to design, implement, and socialize a barcode-based digital attendance system to improve the efficiency of student attendance management at SMP Negeri 2 Suwawa. The activity was carried out through observation, interviews, needs analysis, system design, system testing, training, and implementation by utilizing Google Forms and Google Spreadsheets as the attendance database platform. Before the program, student attendance was recorded manually, resulting in time-consuming data recapitulation and a higher risk of recording errors. The implementation results demonstrate that the developed system successfully enables automatic attendance recording through barcode scanning, provides real-time attendance monitoring, and simplifies monthly attendance recapitulation for teachers. In addition, the activity improved teachers' understanding of the use of digital technology in attendance management and supported the school's digital transformation initiatives. Therefore, the barcode-based digital attendance system provides a practical, efficient, and sustainable solution for managing attendance in schools.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of watchkeeping duty on AHTS AMBER in order to prevent the risk of collision during voyages. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through interviews with ship officers, direct field observation, and document review during sea practice on board. The findings show that watchkeeping practice has not been fully optimal according to STCW 1978 as amended in 2010, particularly regarding crew discipline in handing over the watch, coordination among watch personnel, and understanding of safety procedures. Navigational aids such as Radar and ARPA have also not been fully utilized to support collision avoidance, mainly because several officers were not yet familiar with the newer radar unit. These conditions are influenced by limited crew skill, insufficient understanding of standard operating procedures, and inadequate oversight from ship management. Improved training and familiarization, consistent enforcement of standard operating procedures, and better use of modern navigational equipment are recommended to increase vigilance and early hazard detection, so that the risk of collision can be minimized.
