Media is a middle person like television, radio, slides, and written words, however it additionally incorporates individuals as learning assets or as exercises including conversations, workshops, field outings, reenactments, etc, which are molded to add understanding and change understudies' mentalities to increment information. This review utilized a subjective elucidating research technique, with the exploration area at Mulia Pratama Secondary School. The fundamental subjects in this review were history educators and understudies at Mulia Pratama Secondary School who zeroed in on learning exercises about Indonesian history material by using audiovisuals in history learning. In view of the consequences of exploration and conversation of the utilization of general media in learning Indonesian history for class X, SMA Mulia Pratama Learning stands out for additional understudies with the goal that it can cultivate learning inspiration. Learning materials become more clear in significance, making it simpler for understudies to figure out learning. Furthermore, understudies do additional learning exercises since they don't simply pay attention to the educator's clarification; they do different exercises, for example, noticing, doing, and illustrating.

So it is appropriate that a series of achievements and various awards fill the pages of his life story. This research uses qualitative methods. Neuman (2000) wrote that the qualitative research process begins with topic selection. After the topic has been narrowed down, it is continued by examining the topic in scientific books or journals, known as literature or library research. Reading results from scientific books and journals will provide a clearer picture of how the topic was discussed and understood by previous writers or researchers. Contemplating Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II's thoughts is a reflection on the existence of Malay Culture itself. Going through various activities, including cultural themes, academics (teaching lectures), and writing, is an illustration of the greatness of his thinking. When Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II rose to become the Traditional Head of the Serdang Sultanate, attention and thought about Malay Arts was still maintained. In fact, his attention to the field of Malay Arts was also developed to a broader level, namely Malay Culture. The traditional institution finally became a forum for Tuanku Luckman to ensure that the existence of Malay culture was maintained. At its peak, Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II played the role of gatekeeper of Malay culture from foreign cultural invasions that came and went.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in history subjects by using a snowball-throwing cooperative model. This research is classroom action research (PTK), which was carried out in two cycles. The research was carried out at Binjai Methodist High School. The research period was carried out for five months, namely from June to July 2017. The research subjects were students of class XI-IPA-3 for the 2017-2018 academic year, totaling 23 people. The object of the research is history learning by applying snowball throwing-type learning. Data collection methods include observation and testing. The data collection instrument consists of data collection tools and data validity (validity of question items and level of difficulty of questions). Data analysis techniques include qualitative and quantitative data. The research procedure starts with the pre-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2. The target success indicators created by the researcher are pre-cycle 40%, cycle 1 (50%), and cycle 2 (75%). The results of the research showed that the increase was not too high in the first cycle; for this reason, the researchers made several changes in the second cycle. After improvements were made in the second cycle, there was an increase in student learning outcomes. From the research results, it was found that 39% of students completed the first cycle; after improvements were made in the second cycle, this increased to 78%. So learning history using the snowball throwing type can improve student learning outcomes. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of the snowball throwing cooperative model can improve student learning outcomes in history subjects in class XI Science 3 at Binjai Methodist High School.

Abstract

This research discusses the transformation of cities in Indonesia, covering the history, challenges, and expectations of the future, focusing on five major cities: Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Bandung. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the history of the development of cities in Indonesia is influenced by colonialism, which forms spatial patterns and social segregation. Rapid urbanization, traffic congestion, air pollution, the impact of climate change, and social inequality are the main challenges faced. Nevertheless, various initiatives have been carried out, such as the implementation of the smart city concept in Bandung and Makassar, the management of green open spaces in Surabaya, and the preservation of local culture in Yogyakarta. However, community involvement in urban planning is still low, so the success of the initiative is not fully optimal. This research emphasizes the need for a holistic approach that integrates environmental sustainability, technology, cultural preservation, and community participation to realize inclusive and resilient cities. In conclusion, the transformation of cities in Indonesia requires the collaboration of all parties to face future challenges and create livable, sustainable, and competitive urban environments.

Abstract

The Datok Laksamana Institute for Typical Malay Songket Weaving in Langkat Dusun V Plantation Village, Tanjung Pura Langkat District, has been revitalized since 1986 by the Government through training for development. Directional development explores local wisdom that has existed since the mulda of the Langkat sultanate around the 18th century. This type of qualitative descriptive research is a research method that utilizes qualitative data and is described in descriptive history. This type of qualitative descriptive research is often used to analyze events, phenomena, or situations socially. This type of qualitative descriptive research is a combination of descriptive and qualitative research. Qualitative descriptive research displays the results of the data as they are, without manipulation or other treatment. The institution empowers members of the local community, so Langkat's unique woven motifs have succeeded in identifying 144 beautiful woven motifs. These motifs are extracted from culture and natural raw materials with high artistic and philosophical values that have thrived in people's lives and are woven into woven motifs. This study of noble-valued weaving motifs is full of essential values and is a guide for the Langkat Malay community in carrying out noble life stages and tasks such as traditional wedding attire, respecting guests, circumcision events, and so on. Within the 144 motifs that are related to the meaning of a typical life value, there can be a model that is able to build a strong personality. In this study, three typical motifs will be discussed: teni grass, Diving duck, and Tepak Sirih. The meaning of the philosophy or value contained in each motif is different. The value of these motifs is very humane, so they remain relevant from time to time. The traditions of the people, with their natural environment interweaving traditions in various aspects of life, are fought for to be passed on to the next generation. The realization of the meaning of culture conveyed by Ki Hajar Dewantara is that culture requires values of struggle to be developed by an independent spirit. The struggle to preserve cultural values in the 21st century faces opportunities and challenges. Society is internally challenged by the arrival of a global culture with technology that enters the soul aspects of the young generation in an unlimited way. Opportunities are directed by the government to explore traditional values to be developed within the education system as a characteristic of the nation's character. Optimizing oneself to become a whole person with the uniqueness of each ethnicity to become a resilient world community is the ideal of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
