Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai pematuhan dan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama di dalam percakapan pada novel Kambing dan Hujan karya Eka Kurniawan. Metode pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik simak dan catat dan teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah pengumpulan data,verifikasi data dan menarik kesmpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pematuhan dan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama yaitu berupa (1) Maksim kualitas yaitu maksim yang mengharuskan peserta tuturnya untuk menyampaikan sesuatu yang nyata dan sesuai dengan fakta yang ada (2) Maksim kuantitas merupakan maksim yang setiap penutur dapat memberikan informasi yang cukup dan seinformatif mungkin (3) Maksim relevansi yaitu peserta tutur yang diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang relevan mengenai konteks yang sedang dituturkan. (4) Maksim pelaksanaan ini peserta tutur harus mengatakan sesuatu dengan jelas, tidak samar, serta tidak berbelit-belit. Abstract This study aims to describe the compliance and violation of the principle of cooperation in conversations in the novel Kambing dan Hujan by Eka Kurniawan. The method in this research is to use a qualitative descriptive approach, while the data collection technique in this research is to use listening and note taking techniques and the data analysis techniques in this research are data collection, data verification and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are compliance and violation of the principles of cooperation in the form of (1) Maxim of quality, which is a maxim that requires speech participants to convey something real and in accordance with existing facts (2) Maxim of quantity is a maxim that each speaker can provide sufficient information and be as informative as possible (3) Maxim of relevance, namely speech participants who are expected to make relevant contributions regarding the context being spoken. (4) The maxim of implementation is that speech participants must say something clearly, not vague, and not convoluted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat implementasi metode pembelajaran Project based Learning pada mata kuliah Semantik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa prodi Sastra Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian Tindakan kelas. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia Jurusan Sejarah, Seni dan Arkeologi Kelas R002 Tahun akademik 2022/2023 dengan hasil peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada mata kuliah Semantik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari adanya peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada tiap siklusnya setelah diterapkannya metode pembelajaran Project based Learning. Pada tahap pra siklus diketahui nilai rata-rata mahasiswa yakni sebesar 67,5. Setelah diterapkan metode PJBL pada siklus pertama  diketahui nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 69,78. Kemudian terjadi lagi peningkatan nilai rata-rata pada siklus kedua yakni menjadi 72,8. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi siklus 2 didapat data bahwa mahasiswa yang memperoleh nilai 70 ke atas menjadi 28 orang dengan persentase sebanyak 81,25% dari total 32 mahasiswa. Abstract This research aims to see the implementation of the Project based Learning learning method in the Semantics course on the creative thinking abilities of Sastra Indonesia study program students. The research method used is classroom action research. The research was conducted on students of the Sastra Indonesia program, Department of History, Art and Archeology, Class R002 for the 2022/2023 academic year with results of increasing creative thinking abilities in the Semantics subject. This can be seen from the increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle after implementing the Project based Learning learning method. At the pre-cycle stage, it was found that the average student score was 67.5. After implementing the PJBL method in the first cycle, it was found that the class average value increased to 69.78. Then there was another increase in the average value in the second cycle, namely to 72.8. Based on the results of cycle 2 reflection, data was obtained that there were 28 students who got a score of 70 and above with a percentage of 81.25% of the total 32 students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of inclusion and exclusion of social actors in the film Filosofi Kopi: 3 Ben & Jody by Angga Dwimas Sangsoko usingTheo van Leeuwen’s critical disourse analysis approach. This research uses a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The author obtained the data sources in this research from several internet platforms such as Netflix which can be accessed online. The results of this research show that there are 36 inclusions in the form of differentiation, objectivation, abstraction, nomination, categorization, assimilation, individualization, association, dissociation and 1 form of exclusion in the form of using passive constructions and no form of using nominalization constructions. Through this analysis, it was found that in the story of the film “Filosofi Kopi 3: Ben & Jody”, it shows more about the identity of social actors and shows how marginalized groups such as farmers experience oppression that they should not have, while the actors who is the main actor is the company not shown. The producer favors actors helping farmers to fight for their customary land by showing unpleasant acts such as oppression and forced labor. This can be seen from the large amount of inclusion data obtained by showing actors playing the role of victim. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripiskan bentuk-bentuk Inklusi dan Eksklusi aktor sosial dalam film Filosofi Kopi 3: Ben & Jody karya Angga Dwimas Sangsoko menggunakan Pendekatan analisis wacana kritis milik Theo van Leeuwen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sumber data yang ada di dalam penelitian ini penulis peroleh dari beberapa platform internet seperti Netflix yang dapat di akses secara online. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat sebanyak 36 inklusi dalam bentuk diferensiasi, objektivasi, abstraksi, nominasi, kategorisasi, asimilasi, individualisasi, asosiasi, disosiasi dan 1 bentuk eksklusi dalam bentuk penggunaan kontruksi pasif serta tidak ada bentuk penggunaan kontruksi nominalisasi. Melalui analisis tersebut, ditemukanlah pandangan bahwa dalam tuturan film “Filosofi Kopi3: Ben & Jody” ini, lebih banyak menampilkan bagaimana identitas aktor sosial dan memperlihatkan bagaimana kaum marginal seperti petani mendapatkan penindasan yang seharusnya tidak mereka dapatkan, sedangkan aktor yang menjadi pelaku utama yaitu perusahaan tidak diperlihatkan. Sang produser lebih memihak para aktor membantu para petani untuk memperjuangkan tanah ulayatnya dengan menampilkan perbuatan-perbuatan tidak menyenangkan seperti penindasan, dan kerja paksa, ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya data inklusi yang diperoleh dengan menampilkan para aktor yang berperan sebagai korban.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the values of Islamic education in the short story Robohnya Surau Kami by A.A. Navis. This research with a qualitative approach with the concept of content analysis research.  Based on the problem formulation, this research focuses on what are the values of Islamic education contained in the short story Robohnya Surau Kami by A.A. Navis.  In collecting data, the hermeneutic analysis was used to research and examine short stories, to obtain data to determine the values of Islamic education in the short story.  The collected data are grouped and then described. The data that has been collected will be identified, analyzed, and described, which the author then interprets according to the research objectives.  The results of this can be used as initial data for future researchers in examining different issues related to this context. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam cerpen Robohnya Surau Kami karya A.A. Navis. Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan konsep penelitian analisis isi. Berdasarkan rumusan masalah, penelitian ini berfokus pada apa saja nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam yang terkandung dalam cerpen Robohnya Surau Kami karya A.A. Navis. Dalam pengumpulan data, analisis hermeneutika digunakan untuk meneliti dan mengkaji cerpen, guna memperoleh data untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam cerpen. Data yang terkumpul dikelompokkan kemudian dideskripsikan. Data yang telah terkumpul akan diidentifikasi, dianalisis dan dideskripsikan, yang kemudian penulis tafsirkan sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai data awal bagi peneliti selanjutnya dalam mengkaji berbagai permasalahan terkait konteks ini.

Abstract

Background. Humans as social creatures use language to interact with each other. In the interaction process, language can be spoken and written. Spoken language is expressed in direct speech, while written language is expressed in written form. The Toba Batak people have local wisdom in the form of expressions, namely Pantun hangoluan, tois hamagoan. This means that if we live our lives with polite and courteous behavior, we will have a good life. Purpose. This research aims to determine language politeness in the Toba Batak community in Jambi City. Method. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source for this research is Toba Batak speakers in Arisan Marga, Parsahutaon, Martandang, and Lapo. Data collection techniques in this research used listening and note-taking techniques. The listening technique is carried out by listening and recording the speech, then the note-taking technique is by recording important data from the informant's speech. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman method, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. Results. The results of this research found 94 data that complied with the principles of language politeness maxims. In Arisan Marga there are 29 data, in Parsahutaon there are 22 data, in Martandang there are 19 data, and in Lapo there are 24 data. Compliance with language politeness is mostly dominated by the maxim of wisdom with 39 data, the maxim of agreement with 17 data, the maxim of respect with 16 data, the maxim of generosity with 14 data, the maxim of sympathy with 6 data, and the maxim of humility with 2 data. Conclusion. From the research results it can be concluded that there are more maxims of wisdom than the maxims of humility and the maxims of sympathy.

Abstract

The main aim of this research is to reveal the form and meaning of threatening speech in the Mahabharata novel by Nyoman S. Pendit. This research is worth carrying out considering that there is no research which discusses about the threat speech in ancient Javanese classical epics through a pragmatic perspective. The methodology approach is a mixed methods which refers to combine a qualitative and quantitative research techniques. The data of threatening speech is analysed using Miles and Huberman techniques (1984). The theory used to determine the indicators of threatening speech is based on Fraser's (1998) theory, to analyze the form using Searle's (1979) theory, and to explain the meaning using Lí¶bner's (2013) theory. The results of the data analysis showed that the forms of threatening speech that tended to be used is expressive illocutions. This  illocution aims to express the psychological attitude or feelings of the speaker towards his/her interlocutor. So, the power of speech that reaches the interlocutor is a form of feelings of inferiority and humiliation due to the use of diction that tends to be negative such as the statements of "˜perempuan jahannam', "˜manusia jahannam', "˜lelaki penuh dosa','manusia celaka', "˜najis',  and "˜pengecut'. Finally, the meaning of threatening speech that tends to be found is the meaning of speech. This indicates that the meaning of a threatening speech cannot be understood easily. So,  it is necessary to consider the context of the utterance to understand it.

Abstract

Abstract  Few realize that swearing is not always used to express negative emotions. It can also be utilized to convey positive feelings, such as compliments. Swearing in compliments is a phenomenon identified on X, the social media platform that was formerly known as Twitter. The purpose of this study is to examine the pragmatic meaning and the pragmatic function of racial swearing in compliments on X. This study is classified as descriptive qualitative research. The data of this study consisted of racial swearing in the compliment utterances on X. The observational method was used to gather the data. In the meantime, the data were analyzed using the identity method by referring to the theories of Hughes (2006), Kreidler (2002), Ljung (2011), and Spears (2000). The results of the data analysis are presented by using informal method. The study's findings demonstrate that the racial swearing in compliments on social media X has the pragmatic meaning of ‘guy’. In addition, it has pragmatic functions as noun supports and anaphoric use of epithets. As a noun support, the racial swearing was used to assist the compliment word, which was usually in the form of an adjective. On the other hand, as the anaphoric use of epithets, the racial swearing was used as an anaphoric pronoun, a pronoun that refers back to another noun in the utterance. It is anticipated that this study would lessen the misunderstanding that Indonesian EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students may have when interacting with other English speakers on social media X.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze lexical variations of isolects in Banjar and Minangkabau languages and to calculate the relationship percentage of the two languages. The method used in this research is a comparative method with a qualitative and quantitative approach to find phonemic and lexical correspondences of the relative lexemes. The data consists of 115 action verbs (glosses) at four observation points of Minangkabau language and two observation points of Banjar language. The data was collected by using non-participation method through notetaking and recording techniques. The Lexicostatistic calculation method is used to calculate inter-language relationships. The results of the analysis show that there were 265 total lexemes of 241 etymons with: 9 cognate (exact-similar), 79 inheritance (minimal-pairs), and 182 different variations of lexemes (considered as borrowing and by chance). The result of the lexicostatistic calculation indicates that the two languages are related by 66.38% and is classified as languages in the same language based on 116 verbs analyzed.

Abstract

Menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang penting untuk dikuasai oleh para peserta didik di samping membaca, menyimak, dan berbicara. Menulis tidak hanya sekadar mentranskripsikan ujaran, tetapi lebih jauh dari itu menulis adalah proses menuangkan pikiran berupa ide dan gagasan. Namum, bagi banyak peserta didik menulis masih menjadi keterampilan yang sulit untuk dikuasai terutama menulis karya sastra seperti puisi dan cerpen. Masalah yang seringkali muncul dalam kepenulisan adalah ide tentang apa yang ditulis dan kosa kata baku apa saja yang mesti digunakan. Hal inilah yang terjadi pada peserta didik SMP 5 Kota Jambi. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya penggunaan media yang representatif dalam keterampilan berupa flashcards elektronik. Pembelajaran memadukan metode ceramah untuk menjelaskan kata baku dan metode latihan sebagai bentuk praktik penulisan kata baku. Melalui penggunaan media flashcards elektronik dapat momotivasi para peserta didik menulis dalam kaidah yang tepat dan menumbuhkan rasa cinta kepada bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mensosialisasikan penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz kepada mahasiswa sastra Indonesia sebagai media evaluasi pembelajaran mata kuliah pragmatik. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk terobosan dalam proses pembelajaran agar tidak cenderung monoton. Evaluasi pembelajaran merupakan hal yang cukup krusial karena sifatnya untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang telah dipaparkan maupun didiskusikan bersama. Sehingga salah satu caranya adalah dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Quizizz dalam proses evaluasi. Target peserta dalam kegiatan ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Sastra Indonesia yang memprogram mata kuliah pragmatik pada semester genap tahun akademik 2022/2023. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan digolongkan menjadi dua tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan dan tahap pelaksanaan. Di dalam tahap pelaksanaan, diaplikasikan dua metode yaitu metode ceramah guna memaparkan materi cara penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz, dan metode tanya jawab guna mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman mahasiswa terkait pemaparan materi Quizizz. Kemudian, dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz dengan menggunakan gadget masing-masing. Hasil kegiatan ini mendapatkan antusiasme dari mahasiswa yang dapat dilihat dari presentase nilai rata-rata kelas R001 sebesar 84 %, dan kelas R002 sebesar 80%.
