Abstract

Abstract

Environmental conditions around the individual is very influential in this type of social learning patterns. The aims of this study were to identify the influence of self and peer assessment on science learning. This research used post test only control design. The result of the analysis of data Showed that; (1) 50% of the 30 students in the experimental class were able to do a self-assessment activities well; 56.67% of the 30 students in the experimental class were able to do peer assessment activities well; and 26.67% of the 30 students in the control class were able to do self-assessment activities well. (2) 100% of the 30 students in the experimental class were able to do a self-assessment of the science learning outcomes well; 93.3% of the 30 students in the experimental class were able to do peer assessment of the science learning outcomes well; and 73.3% of the 30 students in the control were able to obtain a good score of science learning outcomes according to the teacher assessment. The result results show that the application of self and peer assessment has an effect on students' learning activity and outcomes. The conclusion is that the application of self and peer assessment has an effect learning of science. It is necessary to exercise this assessment periodically during the learning activity. The research should combine students' assessment with that of reviews their teacher by 50% to obtain accurate learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to improve students problem-solving abilities and self-confidence in the problem-based learning model and to describe the ability of students to solve mathematical problems through a problem-based learning model regarding students' confidence. This research is a mixed methods research, with an embedded experimental model. Data collection techniques used tests of problem-solving skills, confidence questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using N-Gain, Correlation Pearson and Triangulation of qualitative data. The subject of research amounted to 67 students. The results showed that there was an increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities and students' self-confidence significantly. Students' confidence have N-Gain score of 0.40 was included in the medium category, meanwhile, the students' problem-solving abilities with N-Gain scores of 0.36 included in the medium category. Students with high confidence can understand the problem, develop a problem-solving plan, implement a problem-solving plan, and recheck the results of problem-solving well, students with confidence moderate can understand the problem, develop a plan good problem solving, but less able to recheck the results of problem-solving, students with low self-confidence can understand problems, develop plans for problem-solving well, but are less able to implement problem-solving plans and are unable to recheck results of problem-solving.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce teaching material for human skeleton material in 5th grade class Elementary School Mahad Islam. The research used research and development models (R&D) with ten stages, i.e. (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revisions, (6) product trials, (7) product revisions, (8) usage trials, (9) final products, (10) dissemination. Comic are declared valid by obtaining scores from media experts, namely 4.0 with good categories and obtaining scores from material experts, namely 3.91 including good categories. Comic are declared effective by obtaining a score of learning interest that is 86% including in the high category. N-Gain measurements show a result of 6.7 including medium category. Learning outcomes of students classical completeness has a percentage of 90.9% already above 80% requirement. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the comic material with the material of human skeleton in science subjects is valid and effective so that it is suitable to be used as teaching material. In this study, comic teaching materials has the benefit that are creative, innovative and fun for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the difference improvement of critical thinking skills by using inquiry model assisted with monopoly media with direct instruction learning model in Primry Schools. The method used in this research was a type of quantitative research methods especially Non equivalent of pre-test and post-test control group design was used with 77 students as the research subjects of Diponegoro distric at Sempor Kebumen. The data collection techniques used were test, interviews, observation. The results of the present research showed that the critical thinking skills of students by using inquiry model assisted with monopoly media is better than those taught by direct instruction learning model and the result of the t-test obtained significance value of 0.003 < 0.05. The percentage of critical value of subject matter of Science Learning based on students worksheets (LKS) and experiments for high critical criteria are 13.88%, critical criteria 66.67%, moderate critical criteria 19.44%. Then, the average final scores of students in the experimental class was 80.52% and the control class was 74.63%, While the stage of average critical thinking was at the level 4 which is to formulate arguments and determine the outcome of the consideration by the integration between initial concept and experiment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of inquiry model assisted with monopoly media is more effective used than that of direct instruction learning model.

Abstract

Social learning is necessary in daily life to meet human needs through identifiable problem solving. However, what happened was students did not have learning experience that connects the theories with real life, learning was focused on giving materials to the students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) model and role playing assisted by audio-visual media in learning outcomes of social studies at fifth grade state elementary school Sulang 2. The research method was used a quasi- experimental design with a non-equivalent group design. The sample for experiment 1 was thought by usingPBL model assisted by audio-visual media, while the sample for experiment 2 was used role playing assisted by audio-visual media. Data analysis was performed by using kolmogorov-smirnov test with SPSS 23 aids. The mean score of post-tests in experiment class 1 increased with 77.4 point and experiment 2 with 68.4 point. The results of the t-test analysis were homogeneous, with sig value = 0.130, so that p> 0.05, so as Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted. The results showed that 21 students in the experiment 1 and 14 students in the experiment 2 reached minimum completeness criteriaat social science in the fifth grade by 75. The results of the N-gain analysis for the experimental class 1 showed a result of 0.965 and the experimental class 2 of 0.525. Based on these findings, it was shown that learning in the experimental class 1 which experience PBL assisted by audio-visual media was more effective and could improve learning outcomes than that of the experimental class 2 which experience role playing assisted by audio-visual media.
