Abstract

Public spaces, including green open spaces, play a major role in improving the quality of life of the surrounding community. However, the mismatch between urban planning and actual utilization triggers negative perceptions of such spaces, because it can affect their functionality, aesthetics, and social comfort. Previous studies have documented the benefits of ecology, social, and mental health in humans from green open spaces, but previous observations have paid little attention to the less functional or neglected parts (negative spaces). In addition, students' opinions on green open spaces are less considered. This observation uses a quality method by exploring how students' perspectives and opinions on less functional or neglected green open spaces (negative spaces) and encouraging students towards urban planning. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and visual documentation in green open spaces frequently visited by students in Malang. Thematic analysis revealed diverse student experiences, with common concerns about neglected areas, lack of maintenance, and suboptimal functions, which reduce feelings of joy and comfort. The results of the study provide an answer that negative space indicates a sense of discomfort and lack of social interaction, and is contrary to the purpose of green open space which can provide restorative benefits. These findings provide valuable advice in planning a more inclusive and functional urban spatial plan in the future, ensuring that green open space is used effectively and improves social cohesion and quality in the midst of the urban environment

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the main pillars of Indonesia’s economy, contributing significantly to the national GDP and employment absorption. However, MSMEs face serious challenges such as limited access to capital, low digital literacy, and marketing constraints that are still predominantly carried out through traditional methods. Janji Manaon Village, Batang Angkola District, South Tapanuli Regency, has great potential in developing MSMEs based on local products. Unfortunately, most business actors still market their products in a limited way through traditional markets, making it difficult to reach a wider range of consumers. Changes in consumer behavior in the digital era open up great opportunities for MSMEs to enhance competitiveness, especially through digital marketing strategies that have proven to be more effective, affordable, and capable of expanding markets. This community service activity aims to empower MSMEs in Janji Manaon Village through training and mentoring in digital marketing. The methods used include a participatory approach, digital literacy training, hands-on practice in using social media and marketplaces, as well as continuous mentoring. The results of the activities show a significant increase in the community’s digital literacy, the establishment of online business accounts, improved skills in creating promotional content, and the expansion of product marketing reach beyond the village. Several MSME actors also experienced increased sales, and local change agents emerged to serve as mentors for other business actors. Overall, this program has proven effective in strengthening the capacity of village MSMEs to utilize digital technology for product marketing, reinforcing community economic independence, and generating positive impacts on local economic development. This success is expected to serve as a best practice that can be replicated in other villages with similar conditions.

Abstract

Kasus Kenneth Lay, pendiri dan CEO Enron Corporation, mencatat titik penting dalam sejarah bisnis global sebagai salah satu skandal keuangan terbesar yang melibatkan manipulasi laporan keuangan dan pelanggaran etika korporat. Dampak dari kasus ini meluas ke seluruh dunia, termasuk di Indonesia, di mana implikasinya terhadap tata kelola perusahaan memunculkan perhatian serius. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki implikasi kasus Kenneth Lay terhadap praktik tata kelola perusahaan di Indonesia. Melalui pendekatan analisis deskriptif dan interpretatif, artikel ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana skandal Enron yang dipimpin oleh Lay menggambarkan kekurangan dalam sistem pengawasan dan penegakan hukum perusahaan. Dengan menggali pelajaran yang dapat dipetik dari kasus tersebut, tulisan ini juga mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi perusahaan di Indonesia dalam menjaga integritas dan transparansi dalam tata kelola mereka. Selain itu, artikel ini menawarkan pandangan tentang bagaimana perusahaan dan regulator di Indonesia dapat memperkuat kerangka tata kelola perusahaan mereka untuk mencegah terulangnya skandal serupa dan meningkatkan kepercayaan investor. Melalui pemahaman yang mendalam tentang implikasi kasus Kenneth Lay, diharapkan bahwa tulisan ini dapat memberikan panduan bagi pemangku kepentingan bisnis dan regulator untuk memperkuat fondasi bisnis yang sehat dan berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Gigi sensitif menjadi permasalahan kesehatan oral yang cukup biasa terjadi di masyarakat. Dengan beragamnya produk pasta gigi di pasaran, konsumen seringkali kesulitan dalam memilih produk yang paling efektif. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan guna mengembangkan suatu Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) yang mampu membantu konsumen membuat pilihan yang lebih informatif. Metode Borda dipilih sebagai metode pengambilan keputusan karena kemampuannya dalam mengolah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif secara simultan. Beberapa kriteria yang akan dipertimbangkan dalam SPK ini meliputi efektivitas produk dalam meredakan nyeri, kandungan potassium nitrate, harga, dan testimoni pengguna.Selain itu, metode Borda memungkinkan penyusunan peringkat yang mencerminkan preferensi konsumen berdasarkan data dari berbagai sumber. SPK ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alat yang praktis bagi konsumen dalam memilih pasta gigi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Dengan memanfaatkan data yang valid dan terstruktur, sistem ini juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran konsumen terhadap faktor-faktor penting dalam memilih produk kesehatan oral. Penelitian ini tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi konsumen, tetapi juga bagi produsen untuk lebih memahami kebutuhan pasar. Hasil dari pengembangan SPK ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam membantu pengambilan keputusan yang lebih rasional dan efektif.
