Abstract

Advertisement prevalence in society has been increasing throughout its growth. The field of advertising is always evolving in society, with settings and characteristics that are continually advancing. Advertisements has a formidable capacity to captivate individuals by using compelling language in suitable written content. In this scenario, advertising no longer serves as a supplementary component, but rather has evolved into a crucial aspect. The interpretation that arises in individuals' brains about a document or commercial often transforms into a collective and universally comprehended meaning. Deconstruction is a method that involves dissecting established meaning into smaller components, analyzing them, and reconstructing a new meaning that deviates from the commonly accepted understanding. Deconstruction fundamentally reconfigures established meanings into novel interpretations that may be seen as identical, like, or divergent significations. This article examines the principles of deconstruction from the viewpoint of Derrida. Through the adoption and use of advertising and deconstruction, one may get fresh perspectives on the significance and utility of deconstruction in the selection of language and text for commercials.

Abstract

In an era of unprecedented information proliferation, post-truth dynamics, democratic principles, and critical media literacy are central for philosophical exploration. The rapid dissemination of information brings both opportunities and challenges to global democracies. The digital age has fundamentally altered how information is spread, intensifying competition for attention and accelerating information generation. Post-truth's influence, where emotions often overshadow facts in shaping public opinion, raises concerns about the very foundation of democracy. In this dilemma, mass media and journalism, crucial in shaping public opinion, sometimes prioritize attention-grabbing narratives over objective truth. Democracy, facing challenges in the age of limitless information, requires imparting critical media literacy skills to the populace. Media literacy involves not just technological understanding but also the ability to assess sources, understand context, and analyze motives.

Abstract

One sees language as an arbitrary system of symbolic sounds in the language of Love. Learning a language does not only mean learning to use existing tools to refer to a familiar world; it also means becoming familiar and intimate with the world itself and how it confronts us. The methods used are based on literature analysis, text analysis, and perspective analysis approaches. The results of this study show that Hans-Georg Gadamer has improved our understanding of the language of love. Abstract

The “post-truth” phenomenon that shakes the foundations of democracy by prioritizing emotional and ideological narratives over objective facts, especially in the context of social media and ideology, threatens healthy political processes and participation in society in political decision making. The aim of this research is to understand the impact of ideology-based post-truth on the stability and integrity of democracy. The research methods used in this article are based on a comprehensive literature review. The results of this research are that ideology-based post-truth poses a serious threat to the health of democracy. This phenomenon not only creates deeper political polarization and results in the spread of damaging misinformation, but also adds to the foundations of democracy such as trust in institutions, political stability, and freedom of thought and expression. The public must understand that when ideology dominates the political narrative and objective facts are ignored, democracy becomes vulnerable to manipulation and power manipulation.

Abstract

Pernikahan adalah suatu proses persatuan emosional dua individu yaitu laki-laki dan perempuan. Konsep pernikahan, dipengaruhi oleh berbagai aspek, seperti aspek sosial, aspek hukum, aspek institusi, dan aspek spiritual. Studi ini melihat bagaimana Jacques Derrida membuat kontribusi terhadap kritiknya terhadap konsep biner gender dan hierarki patriarkal dalam konteks pernikahan dengan menggunakan metode analisis filosofis yang dikenal sebagai dekonstruksi. Metode ini menantang dan membongkar struktur oposisi biner yang menjadi dasar banyak konstruksi sosial, termasuk konsep gender dalam institusi pernikahan. Melalui analisis teks utama Derrida dan literatur sekunder yang relevan, penulis ingin menunjukkan bahwa dekonstruksi memungkinkan pemahaman yang lebih inklusif dan kritis tentang peran gender dan menawarkan metode untuk mengatasi dan menghapus hierarki patriarkal dalam pernikahan. Oleh karena itu, penulisan ini diharapkan dapat membantu mengembangkan teori feminis dan studi gender, serta memberikan landasan teoritis yang kuat untuk mendukung kesetaraan gender dalam pernikahan dengan landasan pemikiran dekonstruksi yang memungkinkan pemahaman secara lebih inklusif dan kritis tentang peran gender, serta menawarkan metode untuk mengatasi dan mengurangi hierarki patriarkal dalam pernikahan.

Abstract

This study investigates the notion of comprehension and significance in communication via the perspective of Hans-Georg Gadamer. The subject matter revolves on hermeneutics, which pertains to the aptitude for precisely understanding the message sent by an individual via language. Gadamer defines hermeneutics as a process of interpretive understanding used to extract an interpretation of the transmitted information. This study highlights the importance of understanding in hermeneutics for interpreting the present situation. This study delves further into the influence of Gadamer's viewpoint on the notion of significance and understanding in the field of communication.

Abstract

Kriteria kebenaran dalam era modernism merupakan kesesuaian antara apa yang dinyatakan dengan fakta atau realitas yang ada di lapangan. Kriteria kebenaran ini kemudian beralih seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi dan kehadiran internet. Kehadiran media sosial menghasilkan fenomena post-truth yang mana kebenaran saat ini dilihat dari sisi viral atau tidaknya informasi yang disampaikan, bukan merujuk pada fakta. Kualitatif menjadi pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan didukung dengan metode literature review. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bagaimana fenomena post-truth dapat dilihat dan telah berkembang di berbagai bidang kehidupan manusia mulai dari politik, kesehatan, kehidupan sosial dan beragama. Peran dari media massa sangat dibutuhkan untuk mengontrol derasnya informasi yang menyesatkan. Pemerintah juga aktif dalam meningkatkan literasi media dari masyarakat dan menyiapkan layanan dan kerja sama dengan komunitas untuk menekan laju penyebaran post-truth.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology today has the effect of a change in various sectors of society. Along with the development of technology at this time, it is accelerating and developing faster and faster, for entrepreneurs with its presence technology can be utilized to promote their products. The research uses a qualitative method through a critical approach, namely by determining the problem. the results of the study based on Herbert Marcuse's thinking, criticism of the development of digital technology in digital capitalism on Instagram social media that digital technology has become a powerful control tool in the hands of large corporations. Marcuse highlights that social media such as Instagram has become a means to manipulate and control the thoughts and behavior of individuals, by strengthening the dominance of capitalism and reducing the space for critical thinking and freedom of opinion, which shows that digital capitalism in Instagram social media not only creates economic inequality, but also threatens individual freedom and encourages conformity.

Abstract

Gagasan Niklas Luhmann tentang komunikasi sebagai autopoiesis menafsirkan ulang komunikasi sebagai sistem otonom yang bersifat self-referential dan independen dari kognisi manusia. Studi ini menganalisis relevansi teori Luhmann dalam komunikasi digital modern, dengan fokus pada platform seperti media sosial dan teknologi algoritmik. Sistem-sistem ini memiliki karakteristik autopoietik, secara mandiri mengkurasi materi melalui umpan balik yang membentuk realitas unik alih-alih sekadar merepresentasikan fakta objektif. Platform digital mendobrak paradigma komunikasi linear konvensional dengan lebih menekankan pada logika operasional internal daripada faktor eksternal. Penutupan operasional ini menciptakan silo informasi yang terfragmentasi, membatasi kontak antar-sistem, dan membentuk ruang gema yang mengurangi eksposur terhadap pandangan alternatif. Studi ini menyoroti dampak sistem-sistem ini terhadap wacana publik dan norma sosial, menekankan perannya dalam mentransformasi pemahaman kolektif sesuai dengan teori Luhmann. Selain itu, studi ini menggunakan analisis literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif dalam mengkaji efek sosial yang lebih luas dari komunikasi autopoietik, terutama kontribusinya terhadap terciptanya ekosistem informasi yang terisolasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dampak transformasi sistem referensial diri terhadap pandangan individu dan kerangka sosial, serta menegaskan pentingnya teori Luhmann dalam memahami kompleksitas komunikasi di era digital

Abstract

Wilhelm Dilthey, a towering figure in the realm of philosophy, dedicated his life's work to unravelling the complexities of human experience. Dilthey believed that life is not merely a series of random events, but a tapestry woven from these experiences, which collectively influence our perspectives and sense of being. By examining Dilthey's thoughts on communication as a process of shared knowledge and meaning making, we gain valuable insights into how we bridge the gap between different perspectives and forge deeper connections. Through a quantitative approach and literature review Dilthey's perspectives are analyzed. Dilthey believed a text goes beyond its literal meaning; it symbolizes deeper significance. Understanding the true depth of a symbol requires venturing beyond its surface meaning and delving into its historical context. Symbols are not merely arbitrary signs; they are often imbued with layers of meaning accumulated over time. These layers reflect the cultural, social, and political landscapes from which the symbol emerged. To fully grasp the symbolic meaning, then, requires an exploration of its historical journey.  Despite the occasional inclusion of natural science objects in humanities, Dilthey saw a clear distinction between the two. He saw understanding as a process of grasping the intended meaning rooted in life experiences. Therefore, Dilthey's concept of meaning is historical highlighting the significance of personal and collective life experiences in interpretation.
