Abstract

E-Commerce-Based Entrepreneur Pioneering by Online Commercial Sex Worker Group (PSK) in Denpasar City  Entrepreneurship mentoring and religious counseling can serve as alternatives for Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs) to transform their perspectives on life, enabling them to value life and attain more dignified income. The implementation of religious counseling is employed as one approach to assist CSWs in overcoming the challenges and problems they face. Religious counseling can provide moral and spiritual guidance to CSWs, helping them understand and improve their relationship with their religion and beliefs. Meanwhile, entrepreneurship mentoring can aid CSWs in acquiring new skills and knowledge about business opportunities beyond the prostitution industry. This allows them to transition into more diverse and income-generating work, thereby reducing the risks associated with prostitution. The entrepreneurship venture initiated through this community partnership program is an online store on Shopee named Coco La Mode, with products consisting of women's sleepwear from the distributor Lovera Official Shop. E-commerce-based entrepreneurship faces barriers and challenges. However, with careful planning, patience, and perseverance, the program partners are expected to overcome these challenges and achieve success in the online business on Shopee. The role of lecturers and students is also crucial in monitoring and evaluating online entrepreneurial ventures to ensure their consistent implementation as the primary source of income.

Abstract

Poverty is a crucial issue that affects various social and economic aspects in Indonesia, requiring severe attention to achieve sustainable development. This study aims to analyse the impact of economic growth, income distribution, human development index (HDI), government social assistance, and consumption on poverty levels in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research approach with secondary data from Statistics Indonesia for 2019-2023, this study employs panel data regression analysis using EViews 13 to examine the relationship between variables. The findings indicate that economic growth, income distribution, and HDI significantly impact poverty reduction, while government social assistance and consumption do not show a significant influence. These findings imply the need for inclusive economic growth, fairer income distribution, and investments in human capital development. Moreover, there is a need to improve the design of social assistance programs and strategies to promote productive consumption to be more effective in reducing poverty. This highlights the importance of targeted and integrated policies to address poverty in Indonesia comprehensively.JEL: I32, O15, H53.

Abstract

The transformation of digital payments has significantly reshaped Indonesia's monetary landscape, primarily through the widespread adoption of electronic money (e-money). This study investigates the relationship between e-money adoption and the velocity of money using comprehensive secondary time-series data from 2020 to 2024. An econometric approach was employed, utilizing data from Bank Indonesia, Statistics Indonesia (BPS), and industry reports. The findings reveal a strong negative correlation (-0.847) between e-money transaction volume and M1 velocity, indicating fundamental shifts in monetary circulation patterns. E-money transactions grew from 5.2 billion in 2020 to 13.76 billion in the first eight months of 2024 (CAGR: 27.4%), while M1 velocity decreased from 13.16 to 12.1. Granger causality testing confirms that e-money adoption significantly affects the velocity of money with a one-quarter lag. The study offers strategic policy recommendations for adapting monetary frameworks and optimizing the digital payment ecosystem. These findings provide important macroeconomic insights and can inform central bank strategies in emerging economies.
