Abstract

Prof. dr.

Abstract

Background: Epilepsy in children causes memory problems in the learning process, so an early diagnosis of epilepsy is needed. The modality for determining the diagnosis of epilepsy is an electroencephalogram (EEG) examination. EEG recording results in epilepsy patients are epileptiform waves that can vary according to the type of epilepsy suffered. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship of epileptiform waves on an electroencephalogram (EEG) with the type of epilepsy in school-age epilepsy patients. Methods: This study is an analytical study that uses secondary data in the form of medical records with cross sectional design. The research subjects were 106 patients taken with total sampling technique. Data collection is done by recording medical record data on the data collection form made by researchers. Correlation analysis between variables in this study used the Fisher test. Results: The results of this study indicate there is a relationship between epileptiform waves on the electroencephalogram (EEG) with the type of epilepsy in school-age epilepsy patients, with p = 0.018 in 0.050 significance value. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a correlation between epileptiform waves on an electroencephalogram (EEG) with the type of epilepsy in school-age epilepsy patients.

Abstract

Traffic accidents (KLL) are the first cause of death for children and young adults aged 5-29 years. Indonesia is in the Southeast Asia region which ranks second with the highest traffic accident rate of 20.7/100,000 people. Motorcycles are the biggest contributor due to the minimum level of safety which results in head injuries and causes death, permanent disability, and other organ defects. Therefore, it is necessary to use personal protective equipment in crossing traffic, namely helmets to minimize the risk of death. This study aims to describe the level of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of Pattimura University students regarding the use of helmets as an effort to reduce head injuries due to traffic accidents in Ambon city. This research used a cross-sectional quantitative descriptive method. A sample of 108 respondents was taken by simple random sampling. Data obtained from the results of filling out the questionnaire. The results showed that 59 (54.6%) respondents had sufficient knowledge, 57 (52.8%) respondents confirmed positively and 57 (52.8%) respondents often used helmets when crossing traffic.

Abstract

Stunting is a disorder of growth and development of children due to chronic malnutrition, repeated infections, and has an impact on children's cognitive abilities. SSGI in 2022 shows that the stunting prevalence rate in Indonesia reaches 21.6% with Ambon City reaching 20.9%, which is still far from the 2024 national prevalence target of 14%. This is triggered by risk factors that cause stunting, one of which is comprehension of stunting. Hatalai as one of the countries in Ambon City has a stunting prevalence rate of <-3SD which reaches 0%, in fact, it is not allowed to stand idly by. Prevention efforts are urgently needed to continue to maintain and support the reduction in the national stunting prevalence rate. One effective way is the socialization of education about stunting and the implementation of stunting handling actions. Community service is carried out with health education methods and is carried out in Hatalai Country and produces positive benefits for the community. The socialization carried out provides understanding to pregnant and lactating women related to stunting and its prevention, and stunting actions provide awareness of the importance of physical activity and the implementation of balanced nutrition guidelines as an effort to prevent and handle stunting.
