Abstract

ABSTRACT Following the 1945 Constitution, the state is obliged to preserve the arts and culture of Indonesia. Kabinet Kerja commemorating 88 Years of Sumpah Pemuda with Nusantara Berdendang show at Istana Merdeka on October 28, 2016. This study discussesa multiculturalism discourse presented in the performance based on the Cultural Studies paradigm with the support of Stuart Hall's representation theory and power theory of Foucault. The research usesa qualitative method with descriptive and interpretative analysis.The multiculturalism discourse is produced by the Kabinet Kerja through performing arts that appear in Nusantara Berdendang. Performing arts are used by the state as a tool to show diversity, as well as a unifying symbol. The state ceremony becomes a discursive area of multiculturalism to implement the unity and unity of Indonesia. Multiculturalism discourse is used to facilitate the success of the Nawacita program. The implication is that Indonesia's image is a bhinneka state, (2) a tolerant and peaceful image of Indonesia,and (3) obedience to the government authorities. Keywords: multiculturalism, Kabinet Kerja, performing art, diversity, ethnicity ABSTRAK Sesuai dengan Undang-undang Dasar 1945, negara berkewajiban memelihara kesenian dan kebudayaan Indonesia.Kabinet Kerja memperingati 88 Tahun Sumpah Pemuda dengan pergelaran Nusantara Berdendang di Istana Negara pada 28 Oktober 2016. Penelitian ini membaca diskursus multikulturalisme yang dihadirkan dalam pergelaran tersebut dengan paradigma Kajian Budaya dengan dukungan teori representasi Stuart Hall (2003)  dan teori kuasa/pengetahuan. Penelitian menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan interpretatif.Diskursus multikulturalisme diproduksi oleh Kabinet Kerja melalui seni pertunjukan yang tampil di Nusantara Berdendang.Seni pertunjukan digunakan oleh negara sebagai alat untuk menunjukkan keberagaman, sekaligus sebagai simbol pemersatu.Seremoni negara menjadi area diskursif multikulturalisme untuk merawat kesatuan dan persatuan Indonesia. Diskursus multikulturalisme dilakukan oleh Kabinet untuk memperlancar suksesnya program Nawacita. Implikasinya, citra Indonesia merupakan negara bineka, (2) citra Indonesia yang toleran dan damai, serta (3) kepatuhan pada penguasa pemerintahan. Kata kunci: multikulturalisme, Kabinet Kerja, kesenian, keberagaman etnik

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the morphological process which focused on reciprocal prefix ko- and to find the word class of the base word that could attach with that prefix in Loloda language. The sources of data were Loloda language used by Lolodanese in the field research. The data were clauses or sentences that contained base word with reciprocal prefix ko-. The data obtained through several methods and techniques, such as observation and conversation, elicitation technique, recording, taking notes, and introspection technique. Introspection technique was used because the researcher is the speaker of this language. The data were analyzed by a qualitative descriptive method. The researchers used morphologic perspective to analyze the data. The results show that reciprocal prefix can attach with base words that have vocal /o/ in the first syllable. Moreover, there are several categories of the base word can attach with reciprocal prefix ko- such as the verb, noun or noun phrase, adjective, and interrogative. The function of the reciprocal prefix is to form the active verb.

Abstract

The aim this research was to describe the names of the tools used in salt farming in Rembang district, which was viewed from an ethnolinguistic perspective. This research was a qualitative research using the Spradley ethnographic method. Data collection used participatory observation and interview techniques. The collected data were analyzed using the ethnosains analysis model. The results show that salt farmers in Rembang regency know at least 13 names of tools in salt farming, namely: ebor, sirat, kincir, desel, garuk, kusut, slender, ekrak, tolok, mbatan, angkong, dium, and ukuran banyu. The thirteen tools can be classified according to their functions, such as (1) to move seawater; (2) to flatten the pond bottom; (3) to compact the pond bottom; (4) to move the salt into a sack or conveyance; (5) to transport the salt in storage area; (6) for coating the bottom of the pond; (7) to determine the density of seawater in the pond.

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze pornography discourse in the reception of Enny Arrow’s stencil novels between two millennial men. This was a qualitative research. The research sample focused on two millennial men in Surakarta who read the stencil novels intensively. Data were obtained by interview, and observations were conducted over six months. The research observed two newly recognized millennial men to read and interpret the stencil novels. After that, the research looked at the effect on the social relationships of the participants. The theory used to analyze the data was Normand Holland’s psychoanalytic literary reception. After data analysis process, it is revealed that pornography discourse makes the participants think that the stencil novels are entertaining but can be a taboo subject to discuss with others. Because of the pornography discourse, participants also think that story on the stencil novels should not be used as a general topic conversation.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the typicality and uniqueness of master of ceremony ‘pambiwara`s’ language in the panggih temanten procession of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution`s wedding ceremony in Surakarta. This research is a qualitative- descriptive with a stylistic approach. The data resources are the text of pambiwara`s speech in the panggih temanten procession of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution`s wedding ceremony. The research data are an orthographic transcription of pambiwara`s speech, which is broadcasted live by national televisions. The scrutinizing technique was used to collect the information by scrutinizing the language use of pambiwara. In this context, scrutinizing techniques consist of extracting the uniqueness of language use, encompassing the uniqueness of speech sound and the typicality of morphology in the language of pambiwara. The data was then analyzed through scrutinizing technique and note-taking technique. The result of the research shows that pambiwara in the panggih temanten procession of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution`s wedding ceremony has an aesthetic language use, which accentuates on the uniqueness and the typicality of speech sound and morphologic of language. (Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kekhasan bahasa pada bahasa pewara ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta. Penelitian ini berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika. Sumber data data tertulis yang berupa satu teks ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta. Sumber data tersebut berupa sumber data lisan yang disampaikan oleh ‘pambiwara’ yang berasal dari informan. Data berupa transkipsi ortografis ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta yang disiarkan langsung di TV nasional. Teknik dasar yang dipakai adalah menggunakan teknik simak, yaitu teknik mendapatkan data dengan cara menyimak penggunaan bahasa. Dalam hal ini menyadap analisis tentang kekhasan pemakaian bahasa meliputi kekhasan bunyi bahasa dan kekhasan morfologi bahasa dalam bahasa ‘pambiwara’, dan lanjutannya menggunakan teknik simak dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta mempunyai keindahan bahasa yang berfokus pada kekhasan aspek morfologi bahasa.)

Abstract

The local agricultural spirit of Osing people of Banyuwangi district, East Java produced many of various rites. These function as mediation between human community and supranatural forces to influence the fertility of soils even to guarantee the welfare of the community. Seblang is the oldest among these traditions, still kept and implemented by the villagers of Bakungan as a part of yearly village purification ceremony. The entity of woman as spiritual being associated to fertility and to the food-giving Mother Earth (pertiwi)and rice field goddess (Mbok Srindani)is essential in the Seblang ritual. Woman is also the preserver of local wisdom about ecological equilibrium as the part of the traditional agricultural worldview. In the last two decades myths, beliefs and discourses of Seblang changed, in parallel with the social-, cultural- ecological changes of the regional development leaded by Banyuwangi`s post-reformation government. This changes modificate elements in the original implementation of this rite. One of these changes was the arbitrary exchange of the Seblang`s female gamelan’s players by male ones five years ago. This paper analyzes how the changing power structures of center and periferic caused the marginalisation of female gamelan’s players of Seblang, in a concrete way, howthe dominant patriarchal class ignored the importance of female entity in the Seblang rite through the act of banishing the female gamelan’s players. After five years of their banishment, in 2018 Bakungan women got the opportunity to join again as gamelan’s player in Seblang. Present paper examines how the awareness of community about cultural competency the female gamelan’s players changed positively after Bakungan women were able to articulate their need to participate as musicians in the Seblang rite. This new awareness presents the emerging self-image of Osing woman and forming a change in the earlier male-dominant perspective.

Abstract

Stencil novels were so popular in the 1970s until the end of 1990s, precisely when the new order was existed. One of the most popular stencil novels was written by Enny Arrow. Her masterpiece gives abig impact for the generation. Her works present details of sexual relation and descriptionsof the human body, especially the female body, which can be able to awaken the reader's libido. The cover and illustration of the books often present pictures of sexy women. Uniquely, Enny Arrow's novels were able to get away from the tightness of the New Order regime which conditions for banning and censorship. Historically, during the New Order era women seemed to be printed in the culture of ‘controlled by husband'.That’s why the author sees the discourse of alienation in Enny Arrow's works, but how the discourse of alienation described in Enny Arrow's stencil novels? By using theory of power by Foucault, discourse of alienation is understood by the writer as a form of resistance from patriarchal domination that shapes women's understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the uniqueness and uniqueness of the use of language style (sounds of language, morphology aspect, diction, and imaging) in pambiwara panggih temanten style Surakarta. In this research, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative by using stylistic approach. Sources of data in this study is a source of written data in the form of a text pambiwara Surakarta.  The data source is in the form of oral data source delivered by pambiwara from informants. The data in this research is orthographic transcription of pambiwara panggih temanten in Javanese Surakarta. The basic technique used by using the listening technique, it is obtained data by listening the use of language. In this research, the researcheruses stylistic analysis of sentences in the Javanes language, and also using listening techniques and record techniques. The results of this study shows that the temanten style Surakarta style has the beauty of the language text: (1) Sound beauty aspect (asonansi (purwakanthiswara), alliteration (purwakanthi sastra), repetition (purwakanthilumaksita), (2) Diction beauty aspect (usage of various tembung kawi, dasanama), (3) morphological beauty aspect (prefix, suffix, confix, dwipurwa / iteration), and (4) imagery to describe the bride.

Abstract

Identitas adalah ciri khas dari seorang individu yang membedakan dengan individu yang lain. Pembentukan identitas dipengaruhi berbagai faktor misalnya  lingkungan. Masa modernisasi saat ini juga turut andil dalam pembentukan identitas ditandai dengan kecanggihan teknologi informasi. Kecanggihan teknologi informasi telah membawa manusia memasuki era media baru dengan menghadirkan smartphone. Namun, dengan hadirnya smartphone telah mempengaruhi pembentukan identitas yang bersifat palsu. Karya tulis ini mengungkapkan seperti apa pengaruh smartphone terhadap pembentukan identitas yang dapat menimbulkan chaos. Permasalahan yang dibahas yaitu (1) apa yang dimaksud dengan chaos identitas? (2) bagaimana pengaruh era media baru pada pembentukan identitas? (3) bagaimana mengantisipasi chaos identitas pada era media baru? Simpulan pada tulisan ini adalah mendeskripsikan dampak adanya era media baru pada jaman smartphone dalam pembentukan identitas maka perlu adanya perhatian khusus untuk menampilkan identas diri yang sesungguhnya. Selain itu identitas yang dibentuk dalam dunia maya dan dunia nyata itu berbeda maka perlu untuk menunjukkan identitas diri agar manusia tidak terjebak dalam dunia simulakra.

Abstract

This study discusses the wise advice related to Sufism aspects conveyed by Raden Panji Natarata which is packaged in Sêrat Bayanullah based on the character of each têmbang. The purpose of this research is to describe Raden Panji Natarata’s mindset as outlined in the rhetoric of têmbang-têmbang macapat. The method employed descriptive qualitative. The results showed that Raden Panji Natarata was quite skilled at mixing and matching his stories into a da’wah field according to the characteristics of the têmbang. Of the various têmbang macapat presented in this Sêrat Bayanullah, Raden Panji Natarata did not use têmbang durma. This was because têmbang durma has a character that tends to be harsh and angry so that it is not in accordance with the content of the da’wah proclaimed by Raden Panji Natarata. Thus, this locality nuanced da’wah element has an aesthetic and humanistic impression. As the title embedded in this literary work, Sêrat Bayanullah means the explanation of the chapter of Allah. Thus, it is hoped that this literary work can be a reference for understanding the nature of the chapter of Allah.
