Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) collaborated with the Pincuran Ruyuang Farmers Group, which focuses on cacao cultivation and is located in Nagari Solok Bio-Bio, Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The main issue in cacao farming production is phytophthora fruit rot, while the management problems include marketing and financial management of the cacao farm. This program's focus was to provide farmer group members with training to address these issues. Several activities were conducted, including community outreach, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training for cacao, marketing management training, fruit rot disease control, and liming and fertilization training. The training results showed an 85.48% increase in partners' understanding of GAP and an 83.33% increase in GAP application. Additionally, a reduction in fruit rot disease was observed during the PKM activities. Partners' understanding of marketing and financial management also improved by 85.50%. This increased knowledge is hoped to enable partners to implement better marketing strategies, leading to higher sales and profits.

Abstract

Abstract

Cooperative health serves as a primary indicator of business credibility; however, the Koperasi Konsumen Syariah Pegawai Negeri Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Payakumbuh (KKSPN-PPNP) encounters significant obstacles in conducting systematic assessments due to limitations in human resource competence and the persistence of semi-manual reporting systems. The absence of such measurable evaluations negatively impacts the cooperative's internal accountability and its external bargaining position. This community service initiative aims to enhance the board's managerial capacity in independently compiling health assessment documents, in strict adherence to the Regulation of the Deputy for Supervision of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Number 06/PER/DEP.6/IV/2016. Employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program was implemented through a structured framework comprising socialization, classical training, and intensive mentoring to thoroughly analyze the seven vital aspects of health assessment. The results indicate a significant improvement in the administrators' technical understanding regarding financial ratio analysis and the implementation of early risk mitigation strategies. The primary output of this program is the generation of a valid Cooperative Health Assessment Report, which functions as an instrument of transparency during the Annual Members' Meeting (RAT) and serves as a strategic prerequisite for accessing banking financing. This achievement establishes a foundation for cooperative governance that is increasingly adaptive, accountable, and competitive.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study to construct an optimal stock portfolio of companies in the agricultural sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) using the Markowitz portfolio model. This model is applied to optimize the trade-off between expected return and risk through the mean-variance framework. The data employed in this study consist of secondary data in the form of closing stock prices of six agricultural sector companies. The analytical procedures include the calculation of return, expected return, variance, standard deviation, covariance, and correlation among stocks, as well as the determination of optimal portfolio weights. The findings indicate that four stocks constitute the optimal portfolio, namely NSSS with a proportion of 57.79%, TAPG at 25.56%, SMAR at 11.55%, and STAA at 5.99%. The resulting optimal portfolio yields an expected return of 0.43% with a risk level of 0.01866, which is lower than the individual risk of each stock included in the optimal portfolio. These results demonstrate that diversification within agricultural sector stocks is effective in forming an efficient portfolio that achieves an optimal balance between risk and return. Keywords: Optimal Portfolio; Markowitz Model; Agriculture Sector Stock; Risk and Return.

Abstract

Abstract

This research evaluates the degree of welfare among rice farmers in Harau and Luak Districts, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This research examines household income levels and consumption expenditures from December 2024 to February 2025. A quantitative and descriptive approach is employed to conduct the study. Data were collected from 75 rice farmer respondents who were selected by purposive sampling and active rice farming. Primary data on income and expenditure were obtained through direct interviews, while the level of welfare was measured using a structured questionnaire. Two leading indicators were used to assess the farmer household welfare threshold: the share of food expenditure (PPP) and the good service ratio (GSR). PPP helps determine the portion of income spent on food, which indicates food security status, while RJN assesses The capacity of the household to fulfill essential non-food requirements, including education, healthcare, and housing. The study's findings indicate that the majority of rice farmers are vulnerable to food security because most of the population uses most of their income for food needs. This indicates limited financial ability to meet non-food needs. The GSR results also show that most farmers are classified as less prosperous, especially in the Luak District, which shows that rice farming alone is not enough to achieve a decent standard of living. Several factors that influence the welfare of rice farmers include education level, health and nutritional status, number of dependents, land area, labor participation, and residential environmental conditions. In addition, farmers' ability to balance food and non-food needs is an important determinant of their welfare.
