Abstract

Manggis memiliki potensi di bidang ekonomi, data statistik tahun 2015 menunjukkan bahwa ekspor manggis mencapai nilai USD 17.2 juta. Kecamatan Pauh dipilih sebagai sentra pengembangan perkebunan manggis di Kota Padang. Pengembangan ini harus didasari dengan kesesuaian lahan sehingga tanaman manggis dapat tumbuh selaras dengan iklim dan kondisi lahan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Pauh Kota Padang. Metoda yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metoda survei dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu persiapan, pra survei, survei utama, analisis di laboratorium, dan pengolahan data. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan dilakukan dengan metoda matching yaitu membandingkan nilai kualitas dan karakteristik lahan dengan persyaratan tumbuh tanaman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapatkan kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman manggis diklasifikasikan ke dalam kelas sesuai marjinal (S3) dengan sub kelas S3nr untuk SL1,2,3,4,7,8,9,11,15; sub kelas S3nr,eh untuk SL5 dan SL10; subkelas S3eh untuk SL14. Namun, pada satuan lahan SL6,12,13, dan 16 didapatkan kelas kesesuaian cukup sesuai (S2) dengan subkelas S2wa,nr untuk SL6 dan SL16; S2wa,rc,nr,eh untuk SL12; dan S2wa,rc,nr untuk SL13. Faktor pembatas yang umum pada masing-masing lahan adalah retensi hara (nr) dan bahaya erosi/lereng (eh). Terdapat 3 kelurahan (Lambung Bukit, Limau Manis, dan Limau Manis Selatan) di Kecamatan Pauh yang memiliki potensi paling besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai wilayah pengembangan perkebunan manggis dengan total luas 5,862 ha.

Abstract

This study was aimed to examine the classification of soil in Nagari Sungai Kamuyang, Luak District, Limapuluh Kota Regency by the USDA Soil Taxonomy up to the level of family and synchronized with the National Soil Classification. This study was conducted in Nagari Sungai Kamuyang. Soil analysis conducted at the Laboratory Soil Department Faculty of Agriculture Andalas University, Soil Chemistry Laboratory and the Mineralogy Laboratory of Soil Research Institute in Bogor. This study used a survey method with purposive sampling random sampling based on unit land. This study consisted of preparation, pre-survey, the main survey, laboratory analysis, and data processing. Based on the results of research on the study of the soil classification in Nagari Sungai Kamuyang, Luak District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, showed soil classification based on Soil Taxonomy on the profile 1 was classified as the Ordo: Inceptisols, Sub Ordo: Udepts, Great Group: Dystrudepts, Sub Group: Andic Dystrudepts, Family: Fine Dust, Kaolinite, Isohypertermik, Andic Dystrudepsts. The profile 2 was classified as an Ordo: Andisols, Sub Ordo: Udands, Great Group: Hapludands, Sub Group: Typic Hapludands, Family: Medial, Amorfik, Isohypertermik, Typic Hapludands. Based on the National Soil Classification, profile 1 was classified as Type: Latosol, Various: Latosol Umbrik. Profile 2 was classified as Type: Andosol, Various: Andosol District.

Abstract

Pauh District was chosen as mangosteen plantation development centre in Padang City. This development should be based on the land suitability so that the mangosteen plant are able to grow according to the climate and soil conditions. This research was conducted in Pauh District, Padang City and Soil Science Laboratory Andalas University. This study used a survey method that consisted of preparation, pre-survey, the main surveiy, laboratory analysis, and data processing. Evaluation of land suitability was done with matching method which compare the characteristics of land suitability for mangosteen growth. The results of research showed that land suitability for mangosteen was classified into S3 (marginally suitable) with subclass S3nr for land unit SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4, SL7, SL8, SL9, SL11, SL15; subclass S3eh for land unit SL14; subclass S3nr,eh for land unit SL5 and SL10. Land unit SL6, SL12, SL13, and SL16 were classified into S2 (moderately suitable) with subclass S2wa,nr for land unit SL6 and SL16; subclass S2wa,rc,nr,eh for land unit SL12; subclass S2wa,rc,nr for land unit SL13. The limiting factors was common to each land unit were nutrient retention (nr) and erosion (eh). There are 3 villages (Lambung Bukit, Limau Manis, and South Limau Manis) in Pauh District which have the greatest potential to be developed as mangosteen plantation development areas with total area was 5,862.42 ha.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat merupakan upaya untuk memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat dengan menerapkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dimiliki. Dalam konteks ini, pembuatan produk sabun cuci piring dapat menjadi salah satu bentuk kegiatan pengabdian yang bermanfaat. Produk sabun cuci piring memainkan peran penting dalam kebutuhan sehari-hari masyarakat, dan melalui pelatihan yang tepat, siswa ekonomi lemah dapat belajar tentang bahan-bahan yang digunakan, langkah-langkah produksi, dan teknik pemasaran yang sesuai. Metode pelatihan untuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam pembuatan produk sabun cuci piring ialah metode demonstrasi dengan tahapan persiapan, pelakanaan dan eloborasi serta simpulan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan program ini telah berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan wirausaha siswa-siswa dan pemahaman mereka tentang proses pembuatan sabun cuci piring. Evaluasi dampak untuk jangka panjang menunjukkan potensi peningkatan jumlah peminat pelatihan wirausaha, potensi pertumbuhan ekonomi bagi siswa dan masyarakat, dan munculknya keinginan untuk terlibat dalam pemberdayaan sosial-ekonomi di masyarakat setempat. Rekomendasi yang diberikan meliputi peningkatan kualitas pelatihan dan ekspansi program ke wilayah atau sekolah lain.

Abstract

Dedication to improving the productivity and welfare of coffee farmers in Rindu Hati village by using biochar made from coffee husk waste. The aim is to coordinate and socialize coffee farmers in increasing production and soil quality in coffee plantations in Rindu Hati village. The method used in this non-profit activity is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) to share information within coffee farmer groups. Social service activities occur in Rindu Hat Village, Central Government of Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province. The target group is the Simpang Bening Farmer Group. The service was carried out through observation and field school to bio-talk coffee husk waste for members of coffee farmer groups in Rindu Hati Village, Central Bengkulu Administrative Region. The objectives of the activities carried out are to increase the understanding of Simpang Bening farmer groups about the utilization of coffee bean shell waste and the use of coffee biochar to increase production and soil fertility in the coffee plantation of Rindu Hati village.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze trends in palm oil production and productivity in the PT Perkebunan Nusantara VI Pangkalan Unit. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The data in this research uses secondary data in the form of time series data for 10 years from 2013 to 2022. Secondary data was obtained directly from PTPN VI Pangkalan Unit. This research uses trend projection analysis with a regression approach. Based on research results, palm oil (FFB) production data for 2013-2022 tends to experience production fluctuations. As predicted for the next 5 years, palm oil production and productivity tends to decline every year. Production and productivity problems which tend to decline at PTPN VI Pangkalan Unit require special attention for improvement in the future.

Abstract

Organic waste management in rural communities, especially those dependent on the agricultural sector, is still a big challenge. Organic waste such as crop residues, leaves and household waste are often not utilized optimally, resulting in environmental pollution and wasted potential. Meanwhile, farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers increases production costs and reduces soil quality in the long term. This service program aims to provide education and assistance to farmer groups in Nagari Harau regarding the use of simple composters as a solution for managing organic waste. A simple composter is a method that is easy to make, cost effective, and can produce compost that is rich in nutrients. A participatory approach is used in implementing this program to ensure active community involvement in the entire process, from waste collection, composting, to utilization of the results. Through this program, it is concluded that communities can be more independent in managing organic waste, reduce negative impacts on the environment, and increase productivity and overall welfare of farmers.

Abstract

Tanah Kampus II Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Payakumbuh, Sumatera Barat, memiliki kemiringan lahan 3-15% dengan topografi perbukitan dengan curah hujan sekitar 2000 mm/tahun. Tanah berbukit rentan terhadap erosi, mengakibatkan degradasi lahan, yang mempengaruhi penurunan kesuburan tanah. Salah satu strategi untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan produktivitas lahan dapat dilakukan dalam studi evaluasi kesuburan tanah. Satuan lahan yang diteliti ditentukan dengan metode survei dengan stratified random sampling berdasarkan Ketinggian di atas permukaan laut sebanyak 10 unit lahan sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan c-organik tanah bervariasi dari sangat rendah hingga sangat tinggi sebesar 0,52-6,00%. Total kandungan N diklasifikasikan rendah-sangat tinggi pada 0,20-1,55%. Kandungan P2O5 tergolong sangat rendah yaitu 0,25-16,40 ppm. Kandungan K-dd 0,10-0,20 me/100 g, Ca-dd 0,50-2,00 me/100 g, Na-dd 0,05-0,1 me/100 g, dan Mg-dd 0,31-1,30 me/100 g. Klasifikasi saturasi alkali sangat rendah yaitu 2,33-11,1%. Kapasitas pertukaran kation diklasifikasikan sebagai sedang hingga sangat tinggi pada 14,20-73,10 me/100 g. Saturasi aluminium diklasifikasikan sangat rendah hingga sedang pada 3,42-18,30%. Status kesuburan tanah di lokasi penelitian tergolong rendah.

Abstract

Sorghum is a perennial food crop that has great potential for development in Indonesia. The development of sorghum will increase land productivity, supporting the development of sustainable agriculture and enhancing Indonesian food production. The research findings establish sorghum as an ideal choice for enhancing the productivity of arid, acidic, or otherwise unproductive lands, including former mining areas reclaimed. Through the assessment of land characteristics suitable for sorghum development as biomass energy crop in West Sumatra, Indonesia, this research endeavors to facilitate the sustainable growth of sorghum cultivation within the region. This research aims to evaluate the suitability of land for sorghum in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Regency uses purposive sampling and survey methods. The results showed that peatland in West Sumatera, Indonesia has potential for the development of sorghum plants with average temperature characteristics 25-27 º C, rainfall <200 mm, air humidity <75%, good drainage, soil depth of peatland > 60 cm, pH 4.4 - 5.1 but low N, P and K nutrient availability. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji karakteristik kimia tanah sawah di Nagari Tanjung Haro Sikabu-Kabu, Kecamatan Luak, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode survei dengan pengambilan sampel secara acak pada tiga lokasi lahan sawah yang sedang mengalami fase penggenangan. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi pH tanah, P₂O₅ tersedia, N-total, C-organik, bahan organik, kapasitas tukar kation (KTK), aluminium dapat ditukar (Al-dd), dan nisbah C/N. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pH tanah berkisar antara 5,26-5,71 (masam hingga agak masam), P₂O₅ tersedia 45,92-70,99 ppm (sangat tinggi), N-total 0,61-0,812% (tinggi), C-organik 2,22-3,08% (sedang hingga tinggi), bahan organik 3,81-5,29% (sedang hingga tinggi), KTK 13,52-26,39 cmol/kg (rendah hingga tinggi), Al-dd tidak terukur, dan nisbah C/N 3,37-4,05 (sangat rendah). Karakteristik kimia tanah sawah ini dipengaruhi oleh kondisi penggenangan yang menyebabkan perubahan pH, peningkatan ketersediaan P, perlambatan dekomposisi bahan organik, dan stabilisasi nitrogen dalam bentuk amonium. Rendahnya nisbah C/N mengindikasikan ketidakseimbangan antara karbon dan nitrogen yang dapat menyebabkan percepatan mineralisasi N dan peningkatan risiko kehilangan N melalui pencucian dan volatilisasi. Strategi pengelolaan yang direkomendasikan meliputi pengapuran, penyesuaian dosis pemupukan, penerapan sistem irigasi berselang, integrasi pupuk organik dan anorganik, serta penerapan rotasi tanaman untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan keberlanjutan lahan sawah.
