Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the key criteria for Taipei Creative City of Design (TCCD) as a business center in Taiwan according to the experts in terms of creative city of design. The methodology of this study consists of searching for the creative city of design indicators, which worked as alternatives for applying a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), called the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on criteria derived from the literature, data collection and analysis that has been done, the researcher found that the human-oriented, design week/month, and city development are relatively high and should be given priority at the current stage. These results could provide a theoretical foundation for designing further the Taipei Creative City of Design.

Abstract

Penyampaian informasi dan komunikasi menjadi sangat penting, ketika manusia mengutarakan maksud, ide, atau tujuannya. Pengembangan tekhnologi yang pesat dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang melahirkan media cetak sebagai alat penyampaian pesan, untuk mendapatkan informasi yang lebih cepat dan praktis. Salah satunya adalah karya seni poster atau desain grafis yang memuat komposisi gambar, huruf di atas kertas dan keselarasan warna. Pada era digital saat ini menjadi sangat penting dalam mempromosikan sekolah terutama pada masa Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB). Pihak sekolah dituntut untuk mempromosikan sekolah sehingga dapat menarik calon siswa baru. Salah satu permasalahan pada mitra kegiatan pengabdian adalah sebagian besar Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) di Sekolah Nasional KPS Balikpapan belum mahir dalam penggunaan warna dan tipografi untuk mendesain poster maupun flyer. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, sehingga dipandang perlu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Pengajar dan Tenaga Pengajar dalam hal pemilihan warna dan tipografi poster. Metode pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan berupa persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kompetensi. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 30 orang peserta yang dilaksanakan pada ruang perpustakaan Sekolah KPS Balikpapan. Pada pelaksanaan kegiatan workshop, masing-masing peserta membuat poster dengan tema PPDB kemudian poster yang dihasilkan dilakukan proses review agar peserta mendapatkan informasi yang lebih jelas tentang hasil desain mereka. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan kemampuan peserta dalam menentukan warna dan tipografi dalam pembuatan poster PPDB di Sekolah KPS Balikpapan sebesar 80%.

Abstract

In the 21st century, numerous phenomena have significantly influenced spatial behavior, particularly in urban areas. These changes in behavior are attributed to various factors, one of which is the substantial increase in urban residents since the industrial era. The surge in urban population has led to a state of disorder within cities, resulting in the emergence of slums and a strain on social and cultural dynamics. In response to these challenges, it is essential to adopt an approach that can effectively engage urban communities in the proper development of cities. One such approach, endorsed by UNESCO as a modern urban concept, is the Creative City concept. The Creative City is believed to empower communities by providing them with opportunities for active participation in city development, facilitated by diverse facilities and activities. Consequently, researchers are conducting a case study on Medan City to identify key elements, particularly from a social perspective, that define a city as a creative city of design. The method employed in this study is Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), which will prioritize the main indicators to assess the factors involved. By analyzing survey data and conducting a thorough analysis, it has been determined that human orientation, exhibition space, and professional exchange are the top three social factors contributing to Medan's transformation into a creative city of design. The findings of this study can significantly contribute to shaping the design of a creative city of design and provide valuable support to stakeholders in formulating policy recommendations for realizing a creative city of Design.

Abstract

The mentoring or training activities for designing digital media to promote the admission of new students (PPDB) represent a successful collaboration between teaching staff of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology with the KPS National School in Balikpapan. This training involves teams of lecturers, students, and the KPS National School in Balikpapan, who are provided with a deep understanding of the concepts and strategies involved in designing digital media to promote PPDB. In a collaborative atmosphere, participants actively engage in discussions and practical exercises to design digital media. The success of these activities is reflected in the high level of participation and concrete results, expected to enhance the visibility and attractiveness of schools to prospective students and the general public, thereby supporting the long-term growth of educational institutions.

Abstract

TK Bina Anaprasa 006 Cempaka II di Karang Joang, Balikpapan adalah salah satu sekolah dengan fasilitas belajar mengajar yang kurang memadai. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membenahi fasilitas sekolah agar dapat mewadahi aktivitas pembelajaran yang aman, ramah dan nyaman untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Berdasarkan hasil survey diperoleh tiga permasalahan yang ada di TK tersebut yaitu dari segi aspek prasarana belajar, seperti kondisi atap sekolah sudah banyak yang bocor, akses penyeberangan jalan yang kurang aman saat murid menuju sekolah, papan informasi yang berfungsi sebagai tanda pengenal TK sudah rusak sehingga kurang bisa terbaca dan tidak adanya fasilitas berupa tempat sampah sehingga menyebabkan kurangnya tingkat kebersihan pada sekolah. Aspek kedua adalah dari segi sarana belajar yang masih kurang, seperti tidak adanya fasilitas membaca. Aspek ketiga adalah dari segi tenaga pengajar yang jumlahnya masih sangat kurang sehingga proses belajar mengajar menjadi kurang optimal. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan renovasi fasilitas sekolah seperti atap, papan nama sekolah, pembuatan jembatan kecil sebagai akses penyeberangan, pembuatan pojok baca, dan membantu guru dengan menjadi sukarelawan pendidik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pengadaan fasilitas sekolah dapat meningkatkan layanan pendidikan dan dapat menciptakan suasana yang nyaman bagi kegiatan belajar mengajar siswa sehingga mereka bisa mendapatkan pendidikan bermutu dan berkualitas yang baik.

Abstract

A comfortable garden can be realized by paying attention to aspects of circulation, aroma, shape, safety, cleanliness and beauty. The goal to be achieved in this research is to provide directions for increasing the comfort of Venus Park based on visitor perceptions. Comparative descriptive analysis is a method used to formulate directions for increasing park comfort by comparing the results of the analysis with existing literature and policy studies. The output obtained is increasing the comfort of the park in the circulation variable by widening the pedestrian area and arranging the vehicle parking area, the aroma variable by planting shrubs in the area around the rubbish dump, the shape variable by recommending chairs made of anti-corrosion material and the addition of a prayer room, the security variable by adding CCTV at several points and the addition of pedestrian lights, the cleanliness variable by managing rubbish disposal, the beauty variable by redesigning garden lights and garden chairs with the addition of batik carvings and planting shrubs in areas experiencing drought, as well as managing the cleanliness of fish ponds and repairing fountains.

Abstract

City parks are part of public green open spaces whose effectiveness can be assessed through the functions of city parks. Kota Raja Park is one of the city parks in Tenggarong Sub-district whose existence is considered as an aesthetic function of the city even though the city park has other functions to be able to make it a successful public green open space. However, there has been no measurable research on the effectiveness of Taman Kota Raja as a public open space in Tenggarong District which can be used to see the performance of the city park function. Based on this, the researcher has the aim of knowing the level of effectiveness of Taman Kota Raja in Tenggarong District as a public green open space. The analysis in this study used scoring analysis with a rating scale on indicators and variables. The results of the scoring analysis show that the overall function of Taman Kota Raja is included in the effective category with the socio-cultural function having an effectiveness value of 2.5; the aesthetic function has an effectiveness value of 2.51; and the economic function has an effectiveness value of 2.57. The research shows that the economic function is the most effective function where economic activities and facilities in the park are rated very well by visitors. Based on age groups, the variables of cultural expression activities, park infrastructure design, and park accessibility are variables that have the best effectiveness value. Abstract

Transportation is a major element in urban and economic development, but the rapid growth of transportation and the complexity of its problems create an urgent need for effective solutions, especially regarding significant traffic accidents in Indonesia, including in Balikpapan City. This study aims to analyze the spatial pattern of traffic accidents in Balikpapan using the Getis-Ord Gi* method to identify areas with high (hotspot) and low (coldspot) accident frequency. Secondary data from various sources are used in this analysis. By spatial modeling using ArcGIS, the results show that the highest accident hotspots are located in the sub-districts of North Balikpapan West, Balikpapan City, Central Balikpapan, and South Balikpapan. The findings are expected to help in designing more effective accident prevention strategies to improve road safety in Balikpapan City. Abstract

The population growth of Balikpapan city is influenced by in-migration. The population growth of Balikpapan City certainly has a big impact on the movement system in Balikpapan City. Balikpapan City has a high economic growth rate, which can be seen from the increase in investment and infrastructure development from year to year, thus encouraging an increase in the travel of people and goods using transportation facilities. In addition, the development and changes in land use functions that affect the generation, attraction and movement system as well as traffic characteristics of Balikpapan City. Based on this, in planning the transportation system of Balikpapan City, a transportation development plan is needed using the TOD Concept which has the function of utilizing dense mixed space with moderate to high space utilization intensity to reduce uneven distribution of population, prevent problems transportation in the form of congestion, and maintaining the availability of land in Balikpapan City, especially Batu Ampar Terminal and to find out the Development Potential of TOD-based transportation mode transfer node areas (Case Study: Batu Ampar Terminal). The goal is achieved by fulfilling 3 stages. First, analyze the characteristics of the Balikpapan city mode transfer node descriptively. Second, analysis of the pairing between the characteristics of the existing condition of the Batu Ampar terminal with the TOD Standard BPN ATR Regulation No. 16 of 2017. Finally, analyze the results of targets one and two to obtain a scenario for the development of TOD-based transportation mode transfer node areas in the Batu Ampar Terminal Transit Area. Abstract

Isu keberlanjutan merupakan sebuah isu global yang cukup sering dibahas, keberlanjutan dapat dicapai dari berbagai sektor terkhusunya pada sebuah bangunan. Keberlanjutan pada bangunan dapat diimplementasikan dari berbagai cara seperti penerapan konsep Smart Building. Konsep Smart Building merupakan sebuah konsep arsitektur modern dimana memanfaaatkan teknologi dalam meminimalisr konsumsi energi yang berkelebihan demi mencapai keberlanjutan pada bangunan. Konsep Smart building memiliki cakupan yang sangat luas, namun pada penelitian ini peneliti menekankan pada desain kinetic facade sebagai strategi dalam mencapai keberlanjutan bangunan melalui konsep Smart Building. Metode perancangan kinetic façade yang diimplemtasikan pada penelitian ini adalah melalui pendekatan algoritma grafis Rhinoceros and Grasshoper. Metode algoritma diyakini mampu memberi ruang ekpresi perancangan yang bervariatif karna fleksibilitas hingga penerapan teknologi terbaru yang mengikuti tren perancangan global. Melalui kajian literatur, pengumpulan data hingga proses simulasi yang telah dilakukan, telah dihasilkan hasil desain kinetic fasade yang dapat diimplentasikan pada gedung yang telah menjadi studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini merupakan sebuah temuan perancangan fundamental, sehingga akan sangat berguna dalam perancangan serta pertimbangan dalam penerapan kinetic facade.
