Abstract

In the nineteenth century, the Muslim ummah faced an intellectual decline exacerbated by colonial domination, creating an urgent need for renewal. This study examines the thoughts of Muhammad Abduh and Jamaluddin al-Afghani through a qualitative library-based approach. The research was conducted in several stages, including data collection from documents related to the thinkers’ ideas, data reduction, analysis, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that both figures emphasized rational thought, educational reform, and social awareness. Al-Afghani promoted political mobilization and Muslim solidarity, while Abduh focused on rational theological discourse and institutional educational reform. Their ideas provide a crucial foundation for contemporary da’wah management, and combining al-Afghani’s activist vision with Abduh’s rational reformism can create an organized, adaptive, and effective da’wah strategy that responds to both social and spiritual challenges in modern society.

Abstract

Peranan teungku inoeng merupakan aspek penting dalam membentuk kepribadian remaja putri agar sesuai dengan ajaran Islam. Namun, realita menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak remaja putri yang kurang memiliki kesadaran beragama terhadap nilai keagamaan. Kehadiran teungku inoeng sebagai pengajar dan panutan memiliki kontribusi signifikan dalam membina pemahaman keagamaan. Atas dasar tersebut maka penelitian ini berfokus pada peran teungku inoeng dalam meningkatkan kesadaran beragama remaja putri, dan tantangan teungku inoeng dalam meningkatkan kesadaran beragama remaja putri di Gampong Lamteungoh. Metode penelitian ini tidak terlepas dari penelitian lapangan (field research) dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah sembilan orang dan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teungku inoeng memiliki peran penting sebagai pendidik, motivator, dan teladan dalam kehidupan beragama di Gampong Lamteungoh. Hal ini terlihat dari kesadaran beragama pada remaja putri yang semakin baik dengan memahami dasar-dasar dari implementasi ketauhidan, ibadah dan muamalah. Sebagai contoh dimulai dari thaharah, praktik ibadah shalat, puasa, sikap dan perilaku seorang muslim baik menyangkut sopan, santun serta bertutur kata. Berbagai metode pembelajaran diterapkan seperti hafalan, tanya jawab, dan cerita, serta pendekatan personal melalui nasihat langsung dan komunikasi digital. Namun, teungku inoeng juga menghadapi tantangan dari remaja yang menjalani pengajian seperti kurangnya kedisiplinan, rasa malas, pengaruh lingkungan, serta kesibukan sekolah dan pekerjaan. Beberapa remaja juga berhenti mengikuti pengajian karena merasa tidak cocok dengan sistem pengajian atau merasa terbebani oleh aturan yang ada.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to various aspects of human life, including education, social, economic, and religious fields. This phenomenon raises fundamental questions about the relationship between intelligent technology and Islamic theology, a scientific discipline that addresses the relationship between humans, God, and the universe. This article analyzes the relationship between Islamic theology and Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that arise in contemporary Muslim society, particularly within the State Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKIN). The research method used is a literature review with a normative-philosophical approach and a conceptual analysis of Islamic theological literature and studies on the ethics of technology. The results of the study indicate that AI poses theological challenges regarding the authority of knowledge, humanitarian ethics, and the meaning of moral responsibility. However, AI also opens strategic opportunities for the development of contextual Islamic theological studies, for strengthening humanitarian values, and for integrating science and religion within PTKIN. This article emphasizes the crucial role of Islamic theology in providing an ethical and spiritual framework for the responsible development and utilization of AI.

Abstract

Students of the Islamic memorization program at Ummul Qura Islamic boarding school experience various academic pressures that can lead to stress. This pressure arises when students experience difficulty memorizing, are unable to achieve memorization targets, and face dense learning activities in the Islamic boarding school environment. This condition requires students to have good stress coping skills in order to be able to manage the pressure experienced adaptively. In this context, the role of ustazah as educators and mentors is very important in helping students develop stress coping skills during the process of memorizing the Qur'an. This study aims to determine the forms of stress experienced by Islamic memorization students, the stress coping strategies used, and the role of ustazah in developing stress coping for students at Ummul Qura Islamic boarding school, Tanah Jambo Aye District, North Aceh Regency. The scope of the study focuses on the experiences of stress among Islamic memorization students and the role of ustazah in providing guidance, mentoring, and emotional and spiritual support. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects consisted of 2 ustazah and 6 Islamic memorization students selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that students experience stress in the form of academic, emotional, physical, and behavioral pressure. To overcome this stress, students use problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and spiritual coping strategies. In addition, the female teacher acts as a guide, motivator, and role model through a personal approach, emotional support, and reinforcement of spiritual values that help students manage stress and maintain emotional balance during the process of memorizing the Quran.
