Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of understanding and perceptions of the people of Gampong Meureubo, West Aceh District, regarding the profit-sharing concept in Islamic savings products. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven purposively selected Islamic bank customers. The findings reveal that the community’s understanding of profit-sharing mechanisms remains low to moderate. Customer perceptions are categorized into three groups: positive, neutral, and critical. Internal factors such as educational background, banking experience, and religious motivations, as well as external factors such as bank communication strategies and social community influences, significantly shape customers’ understanding of the profit-sharing system. This study highlights the importance of transparency and community-based education to enhance functional financial literacy, rather than relying solely on symbolic loyalty towards Islamic banking labels. These findings contribute both empirically and theoretically to the development of Islamic financial literacy strategies, especially in regions with formally mandated Islamic financial systems like Aceh

Abstract

In the long term, the Indonesian government has set a target to achieve an entrepreneurship ratio of 8% by 2045. This is certainly not an easy feat and requires the right approach to produce resilient entrepreneurs who are ready to compete in the digital and global era. Digitalization is not only about entering digital markets but also involves using smart factories and the Internet of Things (IoT). This community service activity was carried out with the aim of fostering the spirit and ability of digital marketing-based entrepreneurship among students of the Sharia Banking Study Program at STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh. The activity was motivated by the low level of student awareness regarding entrepreneurial opportunities in the digital era, even though access to and the potential of digital technology are widely available. Through a participatory training approach, students were provided with fundamental knowledge about entrepreneurship, digital marketing strategies, the use of social media as a promotional tool, and an introduction to marketplaces as business platforms. The implementation methods include interactive lectures, case studies, and hands-on practice in creating content and digital marketing strategies. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding and interest in digital entrepreneurship, as well as the emergence of initiatives to start online-based businesses individually or in groups. This activity is expected to serve as a starting point in shaping the entrepreneurial spirit of students who are adaptive to the development of the digital economy.

Data collection was carried out by accessing bank financial report data through the Bank Aceh Syariah website from the period 2020-2024. Data analysis in this study includes classical assumption test, multiple linear regression test, and hypothesis testing. The findings indicate that FDR and NPF have no effect on Profitability (ROA), while CAR is known to have a significant effect on ROA. Abstract

The development of information technology has given a new face to the financial and banking industry, such as the presence of digital banks. Implementation of Aceh Qanun Number 11 of 2018 concerning Sharia Financial Institutions (LKS) also does not become an obstacle for digital banking, because digital banks do not require physical services to carry out their activities. Currently, more than 90% of digital banks in Indonesia use conventional systems. The movement in the development of digital banks has shown quite significant growth in Indonesia, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic when demands for physical meetings were implemented. This research aims to look at the determinants of digital bank use among generations Y and Z Muslims in Banda Aceh City by analyzing the relationship between eight independent variables, namely economic value, ease of use, social influence, company reputation, promotion, features, curiosity and appreciation. The population in this research is all generations Y and Z Muslims in Banda Aceh City who have used digital banking services for at least 4 months. The sample used was 100 people using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale instrument, which was then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The research results show that all variables except the sales promotion and curiosity variable have a significant effect on the intention to use digital banking in the city of Banda Aceh. Abstract

This study seeks to examine customer opinions of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) business capital finance in West Aceh Regency. This study employs a qualitative methodology utilising in-depth interviews with seven informants purposefully recruited from diverse business sectors. The results indicate that most customers have a positive perception of BSI’s financing, particularly regarding procedural ease, contract transparency, flexible installment tenors, and positive impacts on business growth. However, varied experiences were found concerning post-disbursement services. The discussion connects these findings with the Theory of Planned Behavior and prior studies, emphasizing that positive perceptions are shaped through the integration of functional, procedural, and relational dimensions. This study concludes that BSI’s financing model represents a participatory and contextual application of Islamic finance and offers strategic implications for strengthening service models based on local values.

Abstract

Supervision in Islamic banking is a fundamental aspect to ensure that operational activities comply with sharia principles. However, despite the rapid development of Islamic financial institutions, various challenges still hinder comprehensive sharia compliance. This study aims to analyse the challenges of supervision in Islamic banking, particularly regarding the competence of the Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB), institutional independence, effectiveness of the supervisory system, and regulatory disharmony between OJK (Financial Services Authority) and DSN-MUI (National Sharia Council). The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, using content analysis and thematic analysis methods on various academic literatures and official documents published within the last five years. The findings reveal that the SSB still faces limitations in both expertise and strategic roles, supervision tends to be administrative in nature, and there is a lack of regulatory harmonization aligned with sharia objectives (Maqashid Syariah) and global standards. Therefore, sharia supervision reform should be directed towards strengthening competence, restructuring the SSB’s authority, and integrating both national and international standards into the Islamic banking governance system in Indonesia.
