Abstract

Background: Madura Island is often left behind in health development in East Java Province, including in the health sector. Poverty and poor education dominate this region. Aims: The research examined the role of education in National Health Insurance (NHI) membership among Indonesian Madurese. Methods: The study employed 791 respondents. We used NHI membership as an outcome variable, education level as an exposure variable, and seven control variables: regency, residence, gender, employment, age, wealth, and marital status. In the last stage, we employed a binary logistic test. Results: The results showed that 58.2% of Madurese people in Indonesia are members of the NHI. Regarding education level, Madurese with primary education was 1.672 times more likely than those without formal education to be an NHI member (95% CI 1.662-1.683). Meanwhile, Madurese with secondary education was 2.329 times higher than those uneducated to be an NHI member (95% CI 2.306-2.352). Moreover, Madurese with higher education was 4.593 times more likely to be an NHI member than uneducated Madurese (95% CI 4.517-4.669). Conclusions: Education level was associated with NHI membership among Madurese in Indonesia. The higher the education level, the higher the possibility of being an NHI member. Abstract

Jember Regency was in the spotlight for the prevalence of stunted toddlers, reaching the highest rank in East Java with a figure of 34.9% in 2022. Teaching Factory Nutrition Care Center (NCC) has nutritional catering services with Managed Health Meal and Kids Meal packages. However, the ordering process was still done via telephone or chat from social media groups. The research objective was to generate an online application for Nutrition Care Center (NCC) called NCC-Food to encourage purchases of Nutrition Care Center products. It used the waterfall method, consisting of system investigation, system analysis, system design, system implementation, and system maintenance. Meanwhile, this article is limited to system design. The results showed that Delivery NCC Food Apps facilitates clients/patients to order nutritious food online according to nutritional adequacy rate needs, particularly for stunted toddlers. The research is expected to promote and improve the accessibility of healthy foods, in particular for stunted toddlers; therefore, the prevalence of stunting is expected to decrease significantly.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR), infant mortality rate (IMR), and stunting rate in the Jember regency have not reached the standards set by the government. Efforts to reduce made through early detection of risk factors using the continuum of care model at to develop an e-Posyandu system. The purpose of this study was to develop an e-Posyandu information system into a “Kelor Gateway e-Posyandu” information system based on the continuum of care and equipped with a reminder system. This was a research and development study. The sample were 15 cadres from integrated service posts Manggis 15, 15A, and 18. The system was developed using the waterfall method. The results showed that the system’s development e-Posyandu based on the continuum of care reports could be automatically recapitulated and adjusted according to the manual report. This means that the cadres could send the health data reports as soft copies (PDF) or hard copies (print) to the midwives. The Kelor Gateway e-Posyandu was also equipped with a reminder system to send the integrated service posts’ acitivity schedules via SMS to pregnant women and mothers. This system has been implemented by the research subjects at their integrated service posts. and the system has facilitated the early detection of MMR, IMR, and stunting. For future studies, the Kelor Gateway e-Posyandu needs to be implemented simultaneously at all integrated service posts in the Kemuning Lor village.

Abstract

The main activity of Posyandu is to improve the health status of maternals and infants in accordance with the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, based on the Convergence Report on the Prevention of Stunting at the Village Level against the Household Target of 1.000 HPK in 2019, Kemuning Lor Village has 8 children aged 0-23 months who are at risk of stunting (25%) and indicated stunting (37.5%). The registration and reporting health status of maternals and infants at the Posyandu Dusun Darungan, Kemuning Lor Village, Jember is still done manually, making writing difficult to read. Information technology-based E-Posyandu information systems can facilitate early detection of the risk of maternal, infant mortality and stunting. The method used to develop the E-Posyandu information system is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model. The results showed that E-Posyandu made it easier for cadres to input, report and store data on the health status of maternals, infants and toddlers, also perform early detection of maternal, infant mortality and stunting. Early detection of pregnant women with LILA less than 23.5 cm will show red colour and lack of nutrition information. Meanwhile, early detection in infants/toddlers can be seen from the Zscore TB/PB per Age in red for stunting and Zscore BB per Age in red for malnutrition. Complete data filling by cadres at the E-Posyandu is required so that early detection of maternal, infant mortality and stunting can run well.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition where a toddler has less length or height compared to age. The prevalence of toddlers with nutritional problems is highest in East Java, namely Jember Regency with a prevalence of stunting (34.9%), wasting (12.7%) and underweight (24.1%). Kemuning Lor Village, Arjasa District, Jember Regency has quite high cases of nutritional problems among toddlers, reaching 80 toddlers, so efforts are needed to reduce these nutritional problems. The community service team has created the E-Posyandu Kelor System which must be implemented continuously by all posyandu in Kemuning Lor village to carry out early detection of stunting. Apart from that, there is a need for quality nutritional care to meet the nutritional needs of toddlers. This service activity took place at the Kemuning Lor village hall and was attended by health cadres from 11 posyandu in Kemuning Lor village and accompanied by the village midwife. The activities carried out include 1) training of Posyandu cadres regarding the operation of the e-Posyandu kelor, 2) assisting cadres in implementing Posyandu data recording into the e-Posyandu kelor application, and 3) training of posyandu cadres in making MP-ASI and PMT with diversification of local food ingredients. After the service activities, there was an increase skills in making MP-ASI and cadres were able to record posyandu data on the e-posyandu kelor application. Furthermore, cadres are expected to record posyandu data periodically on the e-posyandu kelor application and make quality MP-ASI/PMT to reduce the incidence of stunting
