Abstract

Abstract:Had done research on the types of aquatic macrophytes in retention ponds around the industry PT Semen Baturaja OKU which can be used as scientific basic data to conservation and improvement of environmental quality. The research method that has been done exploratory and descriptive method, with sampling using exploration technic. The results showed 4 types of macrophytes found in the waters of an retention pond I PTSB OKU classified into 4 parts which family Poaceae, Cyperaceae, Convolvulaceae and Gentianaceae comprising each one kind. Then also found 17 species of macrophytes waters retention pond II PTSB OKU. The macrophytes classified into 11 parts which family Cyperaceae consists of 4 types, Poaceae 2 types, Pontederiaceae 2 types, Araceae 2 types, and comprising each one kindButomaceae, Hydrocharitaceae, Ceratophyllaceae, Polygonaceae, Gentianaceae, Convolvulaceae and Onagraceae. The results of this research expected to be a contribution biology learning for second semester of 2nd grade senior high school on the basic competence 3.7 which described the characteristics divisio of world plants and its role for the survival of the earth in the form of making herbarium, preserved wet, booklets and Worksheet Students. Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this study was to find out the information about local material covered local wisdoms, local potentials, and environmental local problems of Muara Enim regency as a requirements to fill the learning sources of Biology course in junior high schools. This study has been conducted in Muara Enim regency and involved five subdistricts that have been choosen based on its topography condition. Ujan Mas and Lawang kidul represented the lowland. Tanjung Agung, Semende darat Tengah and Semende Darat Ulu represented the highland. Descriptive method was applied in this study and the information about local material was found out through observation, interview and related literature. The result of this study showed that there were 15 local materials that has been identified and can be used as the learning sources covered local wisdom, there were people that were accustomed to live in rumah panggung; saving the agriculture outcome in tengkiang; and people habit to keep tebat mandian as a place that used for saving clean water. Meanwhile, for the local potentials, there were freshwater fish cultivation, tree nurseries in PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk; variety plants around Curup Tenang Bedegung waterfall ; fish cultivation in fish seed center; rice field; and waste processing in PT Bukit asam (Persero) Tbk. In addition, for the environmental local problems were air pollutions that caused by rubber production in a rubber factory; burning and producing process of brick; bathing process and domestic waste in the river; vast growing of water hyacinth; the effect of sand and river stone mining; and the effect of coals mining that damage the ecosystem. The significant of this study hopefully can be used as the reference for the teachers doing biology teaching and learning process in junior high school and also can be used for developing the learning material of local material in Muara Enim regency. Abstract

Research on the use of celery extract (Apium graveolens L.) was carried out to determine its effect on the effect of sedation on mice (Mus musculus L.). The research method used is an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications with the Traction Test method. The Traction Test method is done to see the decrease in work / muscle power of the test animal. This study consisted of a control treatment (distilled water) and celery extract treatment with a dose of 1 mg / 10gBB; 2 mg / 10gBB; and 4 mg / 10gBB. Data were analyzed using variance calculation and Duncan Real Distance Difference Test (BJND). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the celery extract dose of 2 mg / 10gBB was the most effective dose in effecting sedation in mice. Information on the results of this study can be an alternative example of learning material and the contribution of teaching materials in learning Biology Class XI Semester II on Basic Competencies 3.10 Analyze the relationship between the structure of the compiler organ network in the coordination system and link it to the coordination process so that it can explain the role of nerves and hormones in the coordination mechanism and regulation and functional disturbances that may occur in human coordination systems through literature studies, observations, experiments, and simulations. Key word : Apium graveolens L., Sedation, Traction test.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian mengenai ampas kelapa sebagai campuran media tanam untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan jamur tiram telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ampas kelapa dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan jamur tiram (Pleurotus ostreatus). Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, terdiri dari empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuan berupa takaran  yang terdiri dari 0, 10, 15, dan 20 g. Data dianalisis dengan uji sidik ragam dan BJND. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata pertumbuhan panjang stipe, jumlah, dan berat basah basidiokarp paling rendah pada takaran 0 g dan paling tinggi pada takaran 20 g, sedangkan pada parameter diameter pileus basidiokarp didapatkan rata-rata diameter paling rendah pada takaran 20 g dan rata-rata paling tinggi pada takaran 15 g. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ampas kelapa pada media tanam berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap pertumbuhan panjang stipe dan berat basah basidiokarp, berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah basidiokarp, dan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan diameter pileus basidiokarp. Pemberian ampas kelapa sebanyak 20 g (P3) memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan panjang stipe, pemberian ampas kelapa sebanyak 15 g (P2) memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan jumlah dan berat basah basidiokarp. Informasi hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi alternatif contoh kontekstual pada pembelajaran Biologi Kelas X pada Kompetensi Dasar 4.10 Memecahkan masalah lingkungan dengan membuat desain produk daur ulang limbah dan upaya pelestarian lingkungan.   Kata kunci: ampas kelapa, Pleurotus ostreatus, pertumbuhan jamur

Abstract

Abstrac: This study aimed to obtain information about local materials on Palembang covering local wisdom, local potential and local environmental problems that qualify as learning resources of biology science for junior high school. The experiment was conducted in Palembang with sample location includes Kecamatan Bukit Kecil, Ilir Barat I, Gandus, Sukarami, Kalidoni, Seberang Ulu I, Seberang Ulu II dan Kertapati, runs from February to May 2014 method used is descriptive and information regarding the material locally obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and related literature. The results showed that there are many local materials on Palembang is qualified as biology learning resource for junior high school consisting of local wisdom, local potential, and local environmental problems. On local wisdom include myths around the garden tombs Bukit Siguntang towards the preservation of ecosystems and habits of the people living in Rumah Panggung. At the local potential include the Musi River ecosystem; natural park ecosystems Punti Kayu; utilization of Kambang Iwak Besar as a place of sports; waste into a product that does not damage the environment; cultivation of fish in fish breeding centers; interaction pattern formed on the fields; cultivation butterflies in the butterfly garden; and diversity of living things in the area Agropolitan. On local environmental problems include changes in water quality from the disposal of liquid dye songket; silting up of rivers due to sand mining; water hyacinth population explosion as a result of fish farming cages; over the land of swamps to residential areas; and the impact of air pollution from vehicle fumes, factory smoke fertilizers, as well as a rubber factory smoke. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers in implementing the science learning biology for junir high school and in the development of teaching materials sourced locally on the material in Palembang.

Abstract

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Taksonomi Tumbuhan tak-Berpembuluh melalui Kegiatan Short Research Paper pada Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Unsri Endang Dayat, Khoiron Nazip, Kodri Madang, dan Mgs. M. Tibrani Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sriwijaya dayat_ed@yahoo.co.id ABSTRACT Classroom Action Research has been done to improve the learning achievement of non-vascular Plant Taxonomy for Biology Education Students through Short Research Paper (SRP). Subjects were 40 students in Semester 3, Academic Year 2013-2013. The experiment was conducted during two cycles, each consisting of three meetings. Data were analyzed descriptively and the success of the action is determined by the classical completeness ie ≥ 85% of students scored ≥ 75. The results show SRP activities can enhance learning activities that include reading, writing, and discussion. SRP can also improve learning outcomes to achieve 100% mastery learning classically.   Key words : learning achievement, Short Research Paper, non-vascular Plant Taxonomy   ABSTRAK   Telah dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar T3B bagi Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi melalui kegiatan Short Research Paper (SRP). Subjek penelitian adalah 40 orang mahasiswa Semester 3 Tahun Akademik 2013-2013. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan keberhasilan tindakan ditentukan dengan ketuntasan klasikal yaitu ≥85% mahasiswa mendapat nilai ≥75. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kegiatan SRP dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar yang meliputi kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan berdiskusi. SRP juga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar hingga mencapai 100% ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal.   Kata Kunci : prestasi belajar, Short Research Paper, T3B

Abstract

Research on the influence of biological fertilizer application on the growth of cuttings of green grass jelly (Premna oblongifolia Merr.) has been done. The research was conducted in Sekarjaya village, Ogan Komering Ulu, South Sumatra on December 2016 to January 2017. The method used was the experimental method with completely randomized design which consists of five treatments and five replications. The treatment includes 0,05% (P1), 0,10% (P2), 0,15% (P3), 0,20 (P4) and 0% (P0) as a control. The data were analyzed by ANAVA and BJND test. The results showed that giving biological fertilizer influenced the growth of green grass jelly. The difference in concentration of biological fertilizer gave real effect on a few of growth parameters which were the shoot length and root dry weight. 0.10% concentration of biological fertilizer was a treatment which recommended to increase the growth of green grass jelly, because it gave significantly different results from the control treatment on the growth of green grass jelly. The information of this study hopefully can be an alternative of contextual example on Biology lesson grade twelve, Semester 1 on Basic Competence of 3.1 and Basic Competence of 4.1.Keywords :biofertilizer, green grass jelly, growth

Abstract

Abstract: A studi about effect of Syzygium polyanthum W. leaves on Candida albicans was done. The objective of this experiment to know methanol S. polyanthum extract for impeding C. albicans growth as in vitro. The experiment used method of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and analytical examination using F test by 6 treatments that are concentration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, and 6% with 4 repetition. Pharameter was used namely transparant zone at aroung of papper disc. The result showed that methanol  S. polyanthum extract can impede C. albicans growth for concentration of 1%, 2% and 3% and the most active showed for concentration of 3%. Result also showed that methanol S. polyanthum extract can inhibi the growth of C. albicans with minimum inhibition concentration 1%. The conclusion that methanol S. polyanthum was potential as an antifungal toward C. albicans. Key words: Syzygium polyanthum W. leaves, antifungal, Candida albicans

Abstract

Abstract: Research on Types of Basidiomycota in waterfall Curug Pandan Lahat was conducted from February to March 2015. The purpose of this study was obtained information on the types Basidiomycota found in this region. The method used is descriptive. Sampling was done by means of exploration. The focus of this research is only at the macroscopic Basidiomycota. Collection observed Basidiomycota were identified based on morphological characteristics. Results of the study identified 20 types Basidiomycota included into the 5 orders and 10 Families. The type most commonly found was of the Orders Agaricales which disseminatus Coprinus (Pers.: Fries) JE Lange., Mycena chlorophos, Mycena rosella (Fr.) P. Kumm., Favolaschia calocera, Marasmius androsaceus (L.) Fr., Micromphale foetidum , Cyptotrama asprata, Psathryrella, and Schizophyllum commune var. Multifidium. Polyporales Orders that is Cymatoderma elegans Var Lamellatum, Lenzites elegans (Spreng.) Pat., Lentinus sajor-caju (Fr.) Fr., Earliella scabrosa (Pers.) Gilb. & Ryvarden, Trametes elegans, Pycnoporus sanguineus. (L.) Murrill, Lenzites sp, and Microporus xanthopus (Fr) Kuntze. Cantharellales Orders consists of Clavulina cinerea (Bull.) J. Schrot. Orders of Thelephorales consists of Thelephora vialis Schwein. Nation of Russulales consists of Stereum Ostrea. Information from this study contributed to instructional materials in Biology in high school learning basic competencies 2.4 Describe the characteristics and types of fungi based on observations, experiments, and review of the literature as well as its role for life. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran  kooperatif tipe The Power Of Two terhadap hasil belajar kelas X di SMA Negeri 11 Palembang  pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pre eksperimental design dengan bentuk desain one group pretest – posttest design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIA 1 dengan jumlah siswa 40 orang. Pengambilan sample dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar siswa kelas X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 11 Palembang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan hasil belajar  rata - rata  sebesar 31,92 sehingga diperoleh indeks gain sebesar 0,72 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dengan ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal mencapai  90,83%. Berdasarkan hasil uji –t menunjukkan  bahwa nilai pretest dan posttest berbeda nyata, dimana nilai postest lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai pretest. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran  kooperatif tipe The Power Of Two berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kelas  X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 11 Palembang pada materi pencemaran lingkungan.   Kata Kunci : Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Power Of Two, hasil belajar
