Abstract

Kondisi area wisata kemumu masih menjadi perhatian wisatawan saat menuju ke air terjun. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh anak tangga dengan jumlah 1000 dan tangga yang licin diserta jurang pada sisi kanan tangga.  Permasalahan yang kerap terjadi di area wisata Kemumu adalah cedera kepala, cedera tulang belakang, perdarahan, tenggelam, fraktur, sesak napas, henti napas dan jantung sampai kondisi kegawatdaruratan. Pemecahan masalahnya adalah melakukan pemberdayaan remaja dengan pelatihan penanganan kegawatdaruratan. Sasaran kegiatan adalah 10 orang.  Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk mengetahui pengetahuan gemu gadar tentang penanganan kegawatdaruratan di area wisata Kemumu.  Metode kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang dilakukan adalah pemberdayaan remaja dengan pelatihan penanganan kegawatdaruratan. Kegiatan tanggal 14-15 Juli  tahun 2021, dilaksanakan di balai desa Kemumu dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 10 orang. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan pre dan post test pelatihan sebesar 18.40 poin dengan p: 0.00 peningkatan keterampilan  sebesar 8.70 poin dengan p : 0.00 dan sebagian besar remaja menyatakan semakin memiliki rasa percaya diri untuk melaksanakan penanganan kegawatdaruratan di area wisata Kemumu. Direkomendasikan agar pelaksanaan penanganan kegawatdaruratan pasca kegiatan PPM dapat dilakukan pendampingan dan dimonitoring oleh kelurahan, PMI dan Puskesmas Kemumu.

Abstract

Kalamansi orange (Citrus microcarpa Bunge.) has the potential as a source of antimicrobials because the skin of the fruit contains flavonoid compounds, tannins, and alkaloids which have been shown to be able to inhibit the growth of gram-negative bacteria. This study aimed to obtain information on the effect of ethanolic extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) on the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria land the minimum inhibitory concentration of ethanolic extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) on the growth of S. ltyphi bacteria. Experimental research with a completely randomized design, the results were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test. Calamansi orange peel ethanol extract with concentrations of 0%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5%, and 15% was tested for antibacterial activity against the growth of S. typhi bacteria using the disc diffusion method. The parameters observed were the diameter of the inhibition zone formed around the lpaper disc. The results of this study showed that ethanol extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) had a significant effect on the growth of S. typhi bacteria, with a 95% confidence level and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ethanolic extract of kalamansi orange peel (C. microcarpa Bunge.) on bacterial growth. S. typhi was at a concentration of 10%, to be precise, MIC was at a concentration of 5% with an average inhibition zone diameter of 5.27 mm. Abstract

Sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kompetensi peserta didik maka diperlukan suatu perencanaan agar pelaksanaan pembelajaran berjalan optimal. Salah satu wujud dari kompetensi guru dalam perencanaan, yaitu guru mampu membuat bahan ajar yang dapat memotivasi peserta didik dalam pemecahan suatu masalah. Perencanaan tersebut dapat tertuang pada lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis masalah (PBL). Berdasarkan hasil data pendahuluan terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru–guru IPA Kota Pagaralam, didapatkan hasil bahwa 78% guru–guru biologi IPA menggunakan metode ceramah melalui media conference seperti zoom meeting. Penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah jarang dilakukan mengingat saat ini masih berada di kondisi pandemi covid-19. Selain itu sebagian besar guru–guru IPA kota Pagaralam menggunakan LKPD yang terdapat di buku saja. Hal ini kurang sesuai dengan kondisi nyata yang ada lingkungan peserta didik sehingga peserta didik kurang memiliki kemampuan dalam pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu, upaya yang harus dilakukan, yaitu melakukan perencanaan dengan mendesain LKPD berbasis PBL yang dirancang secara digital menjadi E-LKPD Berbasis PBL. Tujuan pelatihan ini: (1) guru dapat mengurutkan langkah–langkah pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning); (2) guru dapat merancang E-LKPD berbasis pembelajaran PBL; (3) guru dapat menghasilkan E-LKPD berbasis pembelajaran PBL. Model kegiatan yang akan dilaksanakan yaitu model pendampingan yang ditujukan kepada guru IPA MGMP kota Pagaralam, berjumlah 20 orang yang berasal dari beberapa SMP Negeri dan Swasta di kota Pagaralam.  Berdasarkan hasil Evaluasi PreTest dan Posttest menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru dalam pembuatan E-LKPD berbasis PBL setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Peningkatan pemahaman terlihat melalui peningkatan nilai rata–rata hasil tes awal dan tes akhir sebesar 47,44%. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, setelah kegiatan pelatihan ini diharapkan adanya kegiatan lanjutan berupa integrasi E-LKPD dalam rancangan pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP)

Abstract

Bioedutainment strategies can be integrated with various methods, models, and approaches. The group inquiry learning model or group investigation is one approach that combines learning with bioedutainment techniques that can be used in biology learning. This study aims to determine student learning outcomes and activities after the application of the group investigation learning model using the bioedutainment strategy on the basic biology concepts. The research was carried out with the research sample being students of the Department of PGSD FKIP Sriwijaya University even semester 2021/2022, totaling 89 students. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique based on the research objectives. This type of research is pre-experimental with a one shot case study research design. Test instruments and observation sheets were used to analyze the data quantitatively which consisted of 20 multiple choice questions and 5 essays. The results showed that the average increase in student learning outcomes who achieved classical completeness was 84.90% for the Indralaya class and 91.17% for the Palembang class. This shows that student learning outcomes have reached the expected classical completeness of learning ≥ 80%.

Abstract

The coordination system is one of the biology materials that students find difficult to remember (retention) let alone understand the concept because many have scientific terms. This study aims to determine the effect of student retention on biology learning on nervous system material through the application of Direct Instruction (DI) and Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R). The method used is a Quasi-Experimental Design category Posttest Group Design. Data was collected through 2 stages of testing. The first stage is short-term retention in the form of final test 1 taken after the learning process, then the second stage (long-term retention) through the 2nd final test is taken 3 weeks after final test 1. The results show that the percentage of long-term retention short students use DI of 62.5% and SQ3R of 78.125%, which means that both are categorized very well. The same is true for the category of students' long-term retention percentage when using DI of 56.25% and SQ3R of 68.75% which are also classified as very good categories. The use of DI and SQ3R in biology learning can be said to have a positive effect, but student retention is more enhanced through SQ3R learning than the application of DI. Abstrak. Sistem koordinasi merupakan salah satu materi biologi yang dianggap sulit oleh siswa untuk diingat (retensi) apalagi memahami konsepnya karena banyak memiliki istilah ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh retensi siswa terhadap pembelajaran biologi pada materi sistem koordinasi melalui penerapan Direct Instruction (DI) dan Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R). Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Design kategori Postest Group Design. Data dikumpulkan melalui 2 tahapan tes. Tahap pertama merupakan retensi jangka pendek berupa tes akhir 1 diambil setelah proses pembelajaran, kemudian tahap kedua (retensi jangka panjang) melalui tes akhir ke 2 diambil 3 minggu setelah tes akhir 1. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa persentase retensi jangka pendek siswa menggunakan DI sebesar 62,5% dan SQ3R sebesar 78,125% yang artinya keduanya terkategori sangat baik. Hal yang sama pada kategori persentase retensi jangka panjang siswa saat menggunakan DI sebesar 56,25% dan SQ3R sebesar 68,75% yang juga tergolong kategori sangat baik. Penggunaan DI dan SQ3R dalam pembelajaran biologi dapat dikatakan memiliki efek positif, namun retensi siswa lebih ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran SQ3R daripada penerapan DI.

Abstract

Tingkat literasi lingkungan siswa di Indonesia secara kumulatif masih perlu ditingkatkan. Penyebab utamanya karena pada tingkat pengambilan keputusan di pusat dan daerah sering mengabaikan kepentingan pelestarian lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi lingkungan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi menggunakan skor nela. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian yakni mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi yang berada di semester 2, semester 4 dan semester 6 kelas yang berjumlah 137 mahasiswa. yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Tes literasi lingkungan menggunakan lembar instrument tes yang diadapatasi dan dimodifikasi dari Middle Schools Environmental Literacy Survey/ Instrument (MSELS/ I). Teknik pengumpulan data  terdiri dari 75 soal. Analisis tingkat literasi lingkungan ditransformasikan menggunakan pensekoran dari NELA (National Environmental Literacy Assessment). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa kemampuan literasi lingkungan mahasiswa berada pada kategori “sedang”. Implikasi penelitian ini siswa dapat bersikap, bertanggung jawab, peduli dan sadar akan keberadaan lingkungan. Proses pembelajaran sebaiknya memperkenalkan anak untuk belajar langsung dengan lingkungan atau belajar di luar kelas, mengamati masalah lingkungan dan perilaku yang dapat berdampak positif bagi lingkungan.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the effect of post-production storage time on antioxidant activity in soy milk. Antioxidants are compounds that can ward off free radicals, so it is important to know their stability over time. The storage time used in this study was 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13 hours post-production. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. Qualitatively, the color change of the DPPH solution was observed from purple to light yellow, while quantitatively the absorbance value was measured using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. The inhibition value and IC50 were calculated to determine the strength of antioxidant activity in soy milk. The results showed that soy milk with a storage time of 1 hour had the best antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 28.19 μg/ml which was classified as very strong. At 4 hours of storage time, the IC50 value of 37.28 μg/ml is classified as moderate, while at 7 hours and 10 hours the IC50 values ​​were 146.95 μg/ml and 119.38 μg/ml, respectively, which are also classified as moderate. At 13 hours, the antioxidant activity decreased drastically with an IC50 value of 228.90 μg/ml, which is classified as very weak. The antioxidant activity of soy milk decreased with increasing storage time. Factors such as temperature, light, and components of soy milk contribute to the degradation of antioxidant activity. Therefore, consumption of soy milk should be done within a shorter time after production to obtain optimal antioxidant benefits.

Quantitative research method with an experimental research design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the results were analyzed using One Way ANOVA test and continued with the Tukey test. Test method with disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer) in antibacterial test with extract concentration 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; 0.5; and 0.6% (g/v) and liquid dilution method in Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) test with extract concentration 0; 0.02; 0.04; 0.06; 0.08; and 0.1% (g/v). The results showed that ethanol extract of wijaya kusuma leaves (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) had a significant effect on Salmonella typhi bacteria with the best concentration of 0.6% which had a mean inhibition zone area of 45.05 ± 4.80 mm2 and the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) was in the concentration range of 0 to 0.02% (g/v). The ethanol extract of wijaya kusuma leaves (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) has an effect as a growth inhibitor of Salmonella typhi bacteria.

Abstract

Learning tools based on local potential are prepared by knowing whether or not there is local potential in the South Sumatra region to then be used as a learning resource. This research aims to develop learning tools based on local potential and conservation attitudes for students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University. This research is development research (research and development). The research model refers to the Lee & Owens development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The design stage produces a needs analysis to design the learning tools that will be used. The development stage was carried out to produce learning tools that had been validated by 2 lecturers teaching environmental science courses. Limited trials were carried out on Palembang class students who taught environmental courses. Based on the research results, environmental learning tools have very valid, effective and practical criteria, so they can be implemented in learning.
