Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of visual training and drills on the dribbling skills of 15-year-old football players at Football Academy Perbi. Dribbling is an important basic technique in football that requires the integration of motor, perceptual, and cognitive abilities. Visual training plays a role in improving perception, focus, and decision-making, while drills serve to strengthen basic techniques through structured repetition. The research method used was an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 17 players. The measurement instrument used was a dribbling test. The training program was given for four weeks with a frequency of three times per week. The results showed a significant increase in dribbling skills after the treatment was given. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, which means there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The average dribbling time decreased from 23.17 seconds to 19.54 seconds. Thus, the combination of visual training and drills has been proven to have a significant effect on improving the dribbling skills of young football players.

Abstract

Maltodextrin, a high-glycemic carbohydrate, is believed to maintain energy and delay muscle fatigue in rowing, a sport that relies on both aerobic and anaerobic energy sys-tems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of maltodextrin supplementation in maintaining energy and anaerobic performance in rowing athletes. The research with a randomized pretest–posttest control group design involved eight rowing athletes from West Bandung Regency, divided into an experimental group (receiving 0.25 g/kg maltodextrin) and a control group (water). The main instrument used is the Concept-2 rowing ergometer which is equipped with a digital monitor to record power output, stroke rate, and mileage for each sprint. Data were analyzed descriptively to see the mean and difference between groups, followed by the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the Levene homogeneity test. The results showed that maltodextrin supplementation did not have a statistically significant effect on the increase in anaerobic power of rowing athletes, but physiologically had a positive ef-fect on performance. The group that received maltodextrin had a lower fatigue index (13.5%) than the control group (17.6%), indicating a better ability to maintain strength during repeated sprints. Conclusion This study showed that maltodextrin supplemen-tation at a dose of 0.25 g/kg body weight given two hours before activity had a practi-cal positive effect on the anaerobic power of rowing athletes in West Bandung Re-gency.

Abstract

Rowing requires cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, technical efficiency, and consistent performance throughout the 2000-meter run. Unfortunately, training programs are still dominated by land-based training, which does not accurately reflect the specific conditions and demands of rowing in water. The combination of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Resistance Training (RT) has been shown to improve physiological capacity; however, its direct application in water is rarely studied. This study aims to analyze the effect of the combination of HIIT and RT performed in water on improving the performance of rowing athletes. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design involving active rowing athletes in Bandung City. The research instrument was a 2000-meter on-water rowing test. The results showed a significant increase in 2000-meter rowing performance after participants received a combination of HIIT and RT training compared to before receiving the training. The combination of HIIT and RT in water has proven to be an effective and applicable training model for improving the performance of rowing athletes. Therefore, we recommend that trainers integrate both HIIT and RT training methods into their performance coaching programs. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the balance of training load and recovery at each stage of the Kharisma Bandung volleyball team's periodization, which includes the general preparation, special preparation, pre-match, and match stages. This study used a descriptive analytical approach with a case study method, where data were collected through a review of the periodization master plan document and interviews with the team's physical conditioning coach. The object of analysis was a training program consisting of 17 microcycles, with details of 5 microcycles in the general preparation stage, 7 microcycles in the special preparation stage, and 5 microcycles in the pre-match stage. Increases and decreases in training load were calculated using the formula for percentage changes in volume and intensity between microcycles. The results showed that there was a difference in the calculation of training volume between the author and the physical conditioning coach in the first to second microcycles in the general preparation stage of 1%. Furthermore, a more significant difference was found in the 17th microcycle, where the author recommended a volume of 50%, while the coach set a volume of 90% — a value considered too high and unable to accommodate the high intensity in the final microcycle of traditional periodization. Differences were also found in the rate of intensity increase, with the authors suggesting a 3% increase per microcycle, while the physical conditioning coach implemented a 6% increase per microcycle. The study concluded that the Kharisma Bandung volleyball team's periodization master plan did not fully reflect the principles of optimal load balance and recovery, particularly in the final phase of the training cycle. These findings recommend adjustments to the volume determination during peak microcycles and control of the rate of intensity increase to conform to traditional periodization principles that are measurable and safe for athletes. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of small-sided games training with different field sizes on the dribbling skills of 15-year-old soccer athletes. The study used a quantitative approach with a pretest–posttest control group experimental design. The study subjects were 20 15-year-old soccer athletes who were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group with an equal number. The experimental group was given small-sided games training with varying field sizes, while the control group underwent small-sided games training without varying field sizes. Dribbling skills were measured using a zig-zag dribbling test at the pretest and posttest stages. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as prerequisite tests and independent t-tests. The results showed that small-sided games training with different field sizes provided more effective dribbling skill improvements than training without varying field sizes. Variations in field sizes created more diverse technical and situational demands, thus encouraging more optimal adaptation of ball control, agility, and player decision-making. These findings confirm that field size adjustment is an important factor in the application of small-sided games in the development of adolescent soccer athletes.

Abstract

Talent identification is a fundamental stage in developing competitive sports because it plays a role in determining the direction of long-term athlete development. In finswimming, the talent identification process requires a specific and multidimensional approach considering the different physical, technical, and physiological demands from conventional swimming. However, finswimming talent identification practices are still often carried out subjectively and have not been integrated into a systematic decision-making model. The goal of this study is to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process approach to perform a comprehensive literature evaluation and synthesis of scientific literature on finswimming athlete talent identification based on important criteria and talents, using a systematic literature review design guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework. The research process involved searching for publications published between 2015 and 2025 in the PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases using the PRISMA 2020 criteria as a guide. Based on the selection process, four studies were determined to meet the inclusion criteria and a narrative and descriptive analysis was conducted. The synthesis results showed that physical and physiological characteristics, especially muscle strength and aerobic endurance, were the most important factors in determining finswimming skills, with technical and psychological factors coming in second. These findings show how the Analytic Hierarchy Process approach can help identify athletic talent in finswimming in an objective, methodical, and evidence-based manner.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the continued decline in the physical performance of female futsal players when performing repetitive explosive movements during matches, which highlights the need for appropriate training methods to improve power endurance. This study aims to retrospectively analyze the application of Short Interval Training based on Maximum Aerobic Speed (MAS) on the power endurance capacity of female futsal players at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI), as well as to examine the relationship between aerobic endurance capacity and power endurance. The method used was a quantitative descriptive approach with a retrospective ex post facto design. A sample of 5 athletes was selected via purposive sampling from a population of 40 athletes. Data were obtained from documentation of the Balke Test and 1-Minute Hurdle Jump Test results before and after the training program, which consisted of 16 sessions. Analysis results showed that the average Hurdle Jump count changed from 79.2 repetitions (pre-test) to 78.0 repetitions (post-test), with an average of 78.6 repetitions. Spearman’s correlation test indicated a moderate positive relationship (r = 0.600), but it was not statistically significant (p = 0.285). In conclusion, aerobic endurance capacity has not been shown to have a significant relationship with power endurance in this sample; therefore, the development of power endurance should be pursued through a training program that combines aerobic, anaerobic, strength, and explosive power training.
