Abstract

Teluk Rhu Village is a village that has potential in terms of fisheries and marine tourism. Some of the people in this village are fishermen, and the rest are fish farmers. The minimum knowledge and competence have fishermen in Teluk Rhu Village cause the welfare to be relatively low. To improve the fishermen's income needed knowledge improvement through food diversification technology based on fishery products. There are four methods used in this program, such as observation, material delivery, product manufacturing practices, and program evaluation. Twenty fishermen were participants and were involved very enthusiastically and actively in this program. There were two materials presented to increase fishermen's knowledge, including digital literacy and food innovation products. Lastly, all participants were trained to make several processed food products such as fish balls, nuggets, and fish sticks. The questionnaire data show that the community service program had several benefits for most participants. Thus, it's hoped that the new knowledge can make them more enthusiastic and motivated to begin a new businesses to increase family income.

Abstract

Sembilan keluarga diwakili, yaitu: Polyporaceae (tujuh genus: Microporus, Polyporus, Earliella, Daedaleopis, Pycnoporus, Trametes, Ganoderma); Crepidotaceae (satu genus: Crepidotus); Tricholomataceae (dua genus: Mycena, Marasmius); Agaricaceae (dua genus: Cystolepiota, Lepiota); Russulaceae (satu genus: Russula); Auriculariaceae (satu genus: Auricularia); Genus Cantharellaceae 1 Cantharellus, gen Lycoperdiaceae 1 yaitu Calvatia, dan genus Xylariaceae 1 yaitu Daldania. Berdasarkan tempat pertumbuhannya, 68% ditemukan tumbuh di kayu mati dan 16% ditemukan tumbuh di tanah atau sampah.

Abstract

Potential of marine photosynthetic bacteria (MPB) and their biopigment extracts as antimicrobial agents against two major aquatic pathogens, Aeromonas hydrophila and Staphylococcus aureus. The research was conducted from February to April 2025. Six MPB isolates were cultured under laboratory conditions to induce pigment production. Biopigments, natural pigments produced by microorganisms, exhibit antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Pigment extraction was performed using acetone and ether, followed by evaporation to obtain concentrated pigment extracts. The antimicrobial activity of both MPB suspensions and their biopigment extracts was tested using the disc diffusion method on Mueller-Hinton Agar (MHA) media. The results showed that the MPB suspensions produced no inhibition zones against either pathogen. In contrast, the biopigment extracts demonstrated weak antimicrobial activity, with inhibition zone diameters ranging from 1 to 4 mm, a classification of weak. However, the ability of biopigment extracts to inhibit bacterial growth, even at low levels, suggests the presence of bioactive compounds with potential antimicrobial activity. These findings suggest that MPB-derived biopigments may serve as a natural alternative in future antimicrobial development

Abstract

Microorganisms that live in extreme conditions in mangrove ecosystems have unique defence mechanisms that enable them to produce secondary metabolites that function as antibiotics. One of them is the wood ant (Camponotus melanus), which is commonly found in mangrove ecosystems and plays a significant role in these ecosystems. This study aims to identify bacteria associated with C. melanus based on morphological characteristics and biochemical tests, and to test their antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria (Aeromonas hydrophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus). This study was conducted from September to November 2025. The method used was a survey method. The research was conducted from September to November 2025. C. melanus samples were taken from the Marine Station mangrove forest, Dumai City, Riau Province, and analyzed at the Marine Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. The isolation and identification results yielded three bacterial isolates: C1 and C2, suspected to be Bacillus sp., and C3, suspected to be Citrobacter sp. The antibacterial activity test results of the three isolates produced inhibition zones. This indicates that the three isolates have the potential to serve as sources of promising antibiotic compounds for further development
