Abstract

Tellasen topak, which is identical to ketupat, is a culture of choosing, weaving, and processing janur into a medium for ketupat food. This culture is full of spatial skills activities, because it turns two-dimensional objects into space objects (three-dimensional). The purpose of this study is to explore the idea of spatial skills activities from ketupat in mathematics learning. The research method is qualitative research. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation, and internet search. Data analysis is in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results concluded that in choosing, weaving, and processing janur into a medium for ketupat food, there are spatial skills activity ideas in the form of spatial visualization, spatial orientation and spatial rotation. In math learning, these ideas play a role in explaining the concepts of geometry, measurement and number. The results of this study contribute to mathematics learning, namely in developing culture-based teaching modules.

Abstract

A spatial imaginative learning model to develop elementary school students' spatial skills has been developed by researchers, but its implementation requires a teaching module. This research aims to describe the process and results of developing teaching modules that have valid criteria for developing the spatial skills of elementary school students. The type of research chosen is development research. The development theory chosen is Plomp theory with stages: 1) initial investigation, 2) prototype development, and 3) assessment. The results of the research are teaching module products that have valid criteria and have been assessed by experts through reliable teaching module validation sheets. Implementation of research shows that teaching modules can be used as supports for spatial imaginative learning models and can be applied in geometry learning.

Abstract

The tanjan game is believed to be one of the cultural games in Madura. In addition to being an enjoyable game, this game also requires spatial skills, as players are able to engage with spatial images directly. This research employs a qualitative approach, with the researcher as a participant. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and a literature review on spatial skills components. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display, and verification. This study has identified eleven spatial skill activities from the traditional tanjan game. These activities are in line with the spatial skill components, starting from before the game starts or when drawing tanjan to when the tanjan game takes place. In addition, this study determines the mathematical elements contained in each spatial skill activity.

Abstract

The learning model was developed to answer the issue of solving learning problems. At elementary school level, one of the models that has been developed is a geometry learning model, such as a spatial imaginative learning model with learning syntax in the form of introduction, demonstration of spatial concepts, facilitation of spatial activities and closing. The learning model syntax will work well if it is equipped with learning model products such as model books, teaching modules, student worksheets, teacher books, etc. To obtain validity and answer whether the product model has valid criteria or not, a validation sheet needs to be developed. The aim of this research is to develop a validation sheet for the learning model product. This research is development research using the Plomp model. The development stages of Plomp are: initial investigation, prototype development, and assessment. The results of the research are in the form of a learning model product validation sheet format. The implication of the research results is the applicability of the learning model product validation sheet format as a tool for obtaining the validity of the learning model product.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji kesalahan mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah geometri melalui penelusuran prior knowledge. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus tipe instrumental melibatkan 185 mahasiswa PGSD Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Subjek menyelesaikan instrumen pelacak prior knowledge dan dilanjutkan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 71 (38,37%) gagal menyelesaikan masalah segitiga dan 124 (67,02%) subjek gagal menyelesaikan masalah jajar genjang. Kesalahan menyelesaikan masalah tersebut dikarenakan kesalahan memahami prior knowledge. Kesalahan pemecahan masalah dapat dikelompokkan menjadi empat bentuk yaitu: (1) kesalahan representasi; (2) kesalahan menggambar garis tinggi, (3) kesalahan dalam menggunakan teorema phytagoras, dan (4) kesalahan memahami konteks berbeda. Sebaran kesalahan prior knowledge: 87,75% kesalahan memahami aksioma, definisi dan representasi dalam geometri sebesar; dan 26,49% kesalahan representasi gambar.   Kata kunci: Prior Knowladge, Pemecahan Masalah, Geometri Abstract: This study examines students' mistakes in solving geometric problems through searching prior knowledge. This research is an instrumental type case study involving 185 PGSD students at Trunojoyo University, Madura. The subject completed the prior knowledge tracking instrument and continued problem solving. The results showed that 71 (38.37%) failed to solve the triangle problem and 124 (67.02%) subjects failed to solve the parallelogram problem. Errors in solving these problems are due to errors in understanding prior knowledge. Problem solving errors can be grouped into four forms, namely: (1) misrepresentation; (2) mistakes in drawing heights, (3) mistakes in using the Pythagorean theorem, and (4) mistakes in understanding different contexts. Prior knowledge error distribution: 87.75% error in understanding the axioms, definitions and representations in geometry by; and 26.49% image representation error. Keywords: Prior Knowladge, Problem Solving, Geometry.

Abstract

This article addressed the question, from a juridical empirical approach) to what extent the making and implementation of a new curriculum at formal educational institution at Madura containing lesson for the preservation and development of local corn cultivation and agriculture may have positive impact on the enhancement of the local economy.  Field study is conducted at the Sumenep district. The main finding is that the regional autonomy policy opens up the possibility for regional/local government to make and implement educational policy introducing a new curriculum containing lesson in local corn cultivation and corn agribusiness. This new curriculum may be implemented at the basic school up to the intermediate level with the purpose of strengthening local culture, i.e., traditional corn cultivation. With that in mind a regional regulation should be issued providing the legal basis for the above policy.

Abstract

Choosing the right learning media in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is important. This is done so that learning is able to answer the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0. This research aims to describe learning media and the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used is a literature study, namely reviewing based on or several sources of books, articles or journals. The results of the research are in the form of a description of learning media in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Implementation of research in the form of applicability of research results as a reference in choosing the right learning media in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan latar belakang fakta adanya kesenjangan skills pemecahan masalah perkalian antara siswa berkemampuan tinggi dan siswa berkemampuan sedang-rendah. Siswa berkemampuan sedang-rendah cenderung: 1) kesulitan memilih cara dalam menyelesaikan masalah perkalian, 2) kerap memerlukan waktu yang lama dalam menyelesaikan masalah perkalian, dan 3) tidak akurat dalam menyelesaikan masalah perkalian. Kecenderungan ini mengakibatkan skills pemecahan masalah perkalian siswa berkemampuan sedang-rendah kurang optimal. Sementara, skills pemecahan masalah perkalian merupakan salah satu aspek yang harus dikuasai siswa sekolah dasar. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan penggunaan batang napier untuk mengoptimalkan skills pemecahan masalah perkalian pada siswa kelas V SDN Getas 02 Nganjuk. Tahapan pelatihan berupa: (1) tahap persiapan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan, dan (3) tahap evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil pelatihan berupa skills pemecahan masalah perkalian yang berkembang dengan optimal. Dampak penelitian berupa kebiasaan siswa dalam menggunakan media batang napier dalam aktivitas pembelajaran sehingga memudahkan dalam menyelesaikan masalah perkalian. Implementasi pelatihan berupa penerapan media batang napier dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan spatial skill dan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa SDIT Al Kautsar Kebonduren, Kecamatan Ponggok, Kabupaten Blitar. Pelaksanaan kegiatan melibatkan siswa SDIT Al Kautsar khususnya kelas 3, 4, dan 5 dengan jumlah partisipan 60 siswa. Tahapan metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa spatial skills dan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa belum optimal. Hal ini karena siswa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan bangun datar dan bangun ruang, siswa kesulitan memandang obyek dalam orientasi tertentu, dan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa masih rendah, yaitu siswa mudah menyerah dan kurang berani dalam mengemukakan pendapat. Berdasarkan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan di SDIT Al Kautsar, kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu kegiatan pelatihan yang telah dilaksanakan mampu menumbuhkan spatial skill dan jiwa kewirausahaan dalam diri siswa melalui pelatihan pengasinan telur bebek. Berdasarkan evaluasi kegiatan, siswa dan dewan guru menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan. Pelatihan ini diadakan bukan hanya untuk mengajarkan keterampilan anak dalam melakukan pengasinan telur bebek, tetapi juga dapat mengaitkan teori-teori yang telah dipelajari dikelas dengan praktik nyata sehingga membuat pembelajaran jauh lebih bermakna dan kontekstual. Selain itu, siswa dapat dibekali keterampilan kewirausahaan dan spatial skill yang berguna dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the ideas of spatial skills activities in mathematics from tajin sobih culture. Spatial skills are one of the important skills used to help solve problems in the real world. Exploring spatial ideas in tajin sobih culture can be useful in learning geometry and mathematics. This research uses qualitative research methods with the researcher as a participant. The collection techniques in this study were obtained through observation and in-depth literature review. The data analysis technique used includes four main processes, including data collection through literature and documentation, data reduction, data presentation in the form of narrative text, and conclusion drawing. This research produced spatial skills activity ideas and mathematical ideas, especially in the field of geometry of flat and spatial shapes from the tajin sobih culture through the making process to the presentation process. Other mathematical ideas are number and measurement. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the shape of the tajin sobih container is hemispherical, the wooden ladle has a length that can be measured using standard units such as cm, tampah or woven basket is circular, and so on
