Abstract

than other populations with the same body mass index (BMI). Fat accumulation is suspected of mediating the rise and fall of Vitamin D levels linked to BMI. However, the results of studies assessing the association between BMI and Vitamin D serum in Asian population still varied. This study is conducted to determine the association between BMI and vitamin D serum in the Asian population. Methods: This study was conducted with a systematic review method to identify scientific articles reporting the association between BMI and Vitamin D serum in the Asian population. The data collected for this systematic review were from 5,477 studies filtered with the inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in eleven studies presenting 7,496 respondents. Results: Nine studies concluded an association between increasing BMI from the normal range and decreasing Vitamin D serum (p<0,05). One study has concluded an association between decreasing BMI from the normal range and decreasing Vitamin D serum (p<0,05). Another has concluded there is no association between BMI and Vitamin D serum (p>0,05). Conclusion:This systematic review study concludes an association between increasing and decreasing BMI with decreasing Vitamin D serum in the Asian population. Further study using clinical trial in obese people and control to compare the metabolism of Vitamin D should be conducted.

Abstract

Background and purpose: Studies have investigated that Vitamin D serum level is associated with sleep quality and circadian rhythms in pregnant women in Asia, but the results remained controversial. This systematic review is conducted to explore the association between Vitamin D serum level and sleep quality among pregnant women population in Asia. Methods: We conducted systematic literature review based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Relevant studies that discussed the association between Vitamin D serum level and sleep quality was retrieved from Pubmed, EBSCO, and Proquest. The outcome variable was sleep-quality which measured with Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaires and the independent variable was the serum 25(OH)D levels. A total 2,285 articles were excluded, leaving 3 final articles to be analyzed. The risk of bias was assessed with the New-Castle Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale (NOS).  Results: Three studies included in this review with a total of 1,359 pregnant women in Asia, ranging from 18 to 68 years old. All three studies were controlled for covariates. Out of three studies, two studies showed a significant result of the association between Vitamin D serum level with sleep quality with a p-value <0,05. Causal reasons remained unexplained considering the studies were completed in cross-sectional and cohort design. Conclusion: This study gives an overview of the role of Vitamin D in the sleep quality of pregnant women in Asia. Future research should focus on conducting more comprehensive studies with stringent criteria to further explore this association in diverse Asian populations

Abstract

This study examines the factors that affect the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar in Indonesia between 2013-2022. The observed factors include interest rates, inflation, and money supply. Annual data was used from legitimate sources such as Bank Indonesia and the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results show that interest rates have a significant influence on the rupiah exchange rate, with an increase in interest rates causing a depreciation of the rupiah against the US dollar. Inflation has no significant effect on the exchange rate, although high inflation can affect purchasing power and confidence in the local currency. Money supply also has a significant effect, where an increase tends to cause rupiah depreciation. An increase in money supply causes inflation and decreases purchasing power, thus decreasing the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar
