Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media video animasi untuk mata pelajaran IPAS guna meningkatkan hasil belajar serta mengevaluasi kelayakannya melalui validasi oleh ahli, guru, dan siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelas IV MI Al-Falah Andamui dengan melibatkan 27 siswa dan satu pendidik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE, yang terdiri atas lima tahap: Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, dan Evaluasi. Pada tahap Analisis, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Tahap Desain menghasilkan rancangan video animasi yang divalidasi oleh tiga ahli. Pada tahap Pengembangan, media divalidasi dan disempurnakan. Tahap Implementasi dilakukan dengan menguji media pada pendidik dan siswa, sedangkan tahap Evaluasi mencakup perencanaan perbaikan berdasarkan hasil uji coba. Hasil validasi menunjukkan skor rata-rata sebesar 82%, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Selain itu, uji efektivitas dengan siswa menghasilkan skor N-gain sebesar 88,20%, yang tergolong sangat efektif. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media video animasi yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mata pelajaran IPAS

Abstract

The three-dimensional geometry topic in mathematics is inherently abstract, requiring students’ imagination and active engagement in conceptually constructing spatial structures. However, the instructional strategies implemented by teachers have not yet resulted in optimal student participation. To describe the effectiveness of using Magic Straws in enhancing students’ engagement and learning outcomes in Three-Dimensional Geometry. Employ the Classroom Action Research method, following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, with 34 students as subjects. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively through a reflection phase in each cycle. The success criteria were determined based on a minimum 10% increase in learning activity, an average test score of at least 75, and a minimum classical learning mastery rate of 85%. Using Magic Straws significantly enhances students’ active participation in learning. The percentage of student activity increased by 14% from Cycle I to Cycle II. The average learning outcome improved from 52.06 in Cycle I to 86.26 in Cycle II, while the classical learning mastery rate increased from 20.59% to 85.29%.  Magic Straws have proven effective in improving student engagement and learning outcomes in Three-Dimensional Geometry. Therefore, further creativity and innovation are needed in designing mathematics learning strategies to enhance students’ understanding of abstract concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ reading comprehension skills using the text summarization technique in the 5th grade of SDN Kasunyatan. The subjects of this classroom action research (CAR) involved forty students. The data was collected using learning observation, reading comprehension tests, and documentation. The analysis of these data uses both qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. This study uses a text summarization technique as an action. The text summarization technique has four syntaxes. First is monitoring, which means that students read the text until they understand the reading material. Next is trimming down to take keywords from each paragraph, then combining these keywords and creating mind mapping. The last is calling; it means that students rewrite all things they remember about the reading text. This research shows that the text summarization techniques improved students’ reading comprehension skills, indicating an increase for each indicator.

Abstract

This study tackles the complex challenge of lecture timetabling by incorporating lecturer day-off preferences, a crucial constraint often neglected in traditional scheduling methods. Given the NP-hard nature of the problem and the need for scalable solutions, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) was employed with a population size of 10, a crossover probability of 0.70, a mutation probability of 0.20, and a maximum generation of 10000. The proposed GA-based method, implemented using PHP and MySQL, is applied to a real-world scenario involving 25 courses, 22 lecturers, and six classrooms over a 5-day weekly schedule at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training for the Even Semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year. Experimental results, validated through the Mann-Whitney test, show that incorporating lecturer preferences enhances scheduling flexibility without significantly increasing computational time. Comparative analysis with Simulated Annealing and Tabu Search demonstrates the competitive performance of the GA-based method in optimizing lecture schedules. This study provides a practical solution for educational institutions seeking to improve their timetabling processes.

Abstract

The decision-making process in choosing a study program is a crucial stage that is influenced by various factors, especially social support from parents. This study examines the influence of parental social support on the decision-making of first-year students in choosing the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education Study Program at Islamic higher education institution in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach and survey method, data were collected through a structured questionnaire. The research sample consisted of 60 first-year students from two Islamic religious colleges. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression and showed a significant influence of parental social support on student decision-making, as indicated by the R-squared value of 0.494. These results indicate that 49.4% of the variability in the decision-making process can be explained by parental social support. This finding confirms the importance of the role of parental social support in helping students make the right and responsible educational choices.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the implementation of classroom management, identify supporting and inhibiting factors in classroom management, and understand the efforts to improve the quality of learning through classroom management. This qualitative study, conducted at SD Negeri Cigelam 2 in Serang, Banten, involves 5th-grade students and a teacher. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The study employs the Strauss and Corbin Model for data analysis. The findings indicate that classroom management has been effectively implemented, employing principles and approaches in the learning process. Supporting factors include conducive facilities, adequate learning resources, student preparedness, and school-community collaboration. Inhibiting factors encompass the transformative impact of the pandemic, limited resources, human resource constraints, lack of result analysis, varying student qualities, and disruptions. Strategies for improving learning quality through classroom management involve adapting learning materials, creating a comfortable classroom environment, implementing meaningful disciplinary actions, and maximizing teaching effectiveness. The study contributes to the literature by providing insights into the practical application of classroom management principles in an Indonesian elementary school setting.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis pada era 5.0 menjadi keterampilan yang wajib dimiliki setiap siswa. Keterampilan ini membuat siswa menciptakan ide-ide baru yang dapat memecahkan permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, menurut data observasi di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Duri Kepa 17 Pagi, Jakarta Barat ditemukan bahwa masih terdapat siswa yang kurang tanggap memahami pembelajaran sehingga berdampak terhadap perkembangan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan problem bassed learning berbasis video interaktif dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap perkembangan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya pada pelajaran matematika Kelas IV. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metodologi kuantitatif, yaitu metode pra-eksperimen satu kelompok pretest-posttest. Sampling jenuh digunakan untuk memilih 21 sampel yaitu siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri Duri Kepa 17 Pagi, Jakarta Barat. Pengumpulan data melalui tes pretest dan posttest. Analisis data dilakukan melalui dua tahapan. Uji normalitas lilliefors untuk menguji distribusi data dan uji paired sample t-test untuk membandingkan perbedaan skor pretest dan posttest. Hasil analisis data dengan uji-t menunjukkan nilai (sig) 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, bahwa problem bassed learning berbasis video interaktif, secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa Kelas IV dalam pelajaran matematika yang diajarkan di sekolah dasar. Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is currently rampant in society. There are many cases such as brawls, acts of violence, and truancy at school; for this reason, character formation in children is very important to be implemented from an early age. The study aims to analyze the strategy of instilling character values through extracurricular pencak silat at MIN 2 Serang, an Islamic elementary school in Serang, Banten. MIN 2 Serang was chosen as the location of the study because it has shown a positive impact on the formation of student character through pencak silat activities, which are part of the local culture of Banten. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method, and this study found that instilling character values is carried out through three stages: moral knowing, feeling, and doing. The results of the study indicate that the Character Value Instillation Strategy instilled by the trainer, namely using the Moral Knowing Strategy, fosters discipline, Moral Feeling instills empathy, and Moral Doing instills the value of responsibility, but from this instillation, there are supporting factors, including adequate facilities. At the same time, challenges such as the distance of students' homes become obstacles to character formation. This study contributes to developing a character education model rooted in local culture.

Abstract

Background: In today's ever-changing landscape, students need strong numerical literacy skills to navigate life's complexities. Recognizing that students come with various learning capabilities, often referred to as "instructional levels," educators must think outside the box when it comes to teaching methods.Aim: This study aims to 1) gauge whether creative problem solving (CPS) or scientific learning is more effective in enhancing the numerical literacy skills of MA students; 2) assess the difference in the numerical literacy progress among MA students categorized at independent, instructional, and frustration levels; and 3) explore the interplay between teaching methods and instructional levels on students’ numerical literacy development.Method: Conducted as an experimental study, this research employs a 3x2 factorial design. Participants include students from Class X IPA at MAN 2 Serang. To collect data, we used tests focused on numerical literacy as well as assessments to categorize instructional levels. A two-way ANOVA serves as the statistical approach to test our hypotheses.Result: 1) MA students exposed to the CPS method showed greater improvements in their numerical literacy skills than those who engaged in scientific learning; 2) A noticeable variance exists in the growth of numerical literacy skills among MA students at independent, instructional, and frustration levels; 3) An interaction effect was identified between the chosen teaching method and the instructional level in shaping the numerical literacy skills of MA students.Conclusion: The study concludes that creative problem-solving is more potent than scientific learning in elevating the numerical literacy of MA students. Furthermore, instructional levels play a crucial role in this improvement. A synergistic effect between the teaching approach and instructional level was also found to influence the numerical literacy outcomes.

Abstract

Perkenalam masyarakat Desa Kadindi Dompu dengan perkebunan kopi sudah dimulai sejak lama. Masyarakat mengenal kopi mulai dari pola penanaman sampai pada proses pemasaran. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perkebunan kopi di Desa Kadindi Dompu dan dampaknya  bagi kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenalogi. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kehidupan ekonomi petani kopi di Desa Kadindi Dompu seiring dengan perkembangan zaman terjadi perubahan dari kehidupan sosial ekonomi yang kurang menjadi lebih baik. Kebutuhan perekonomian masyarkat dengan adanya perkebunan kopi sudah semakin baik. Adanya harga kopi yang tinggi, sudah tentu dapat membantu perekonoman masyarakat sehingga banyak orang yang berminat untuk menanam tanaman kopi.
