Abstract

Graduates of the Vocational Education in Mechanical Engineering (PVTM) program at Ivet University have predominantly pursued careers in relevant fields of expertise. A total of 87% of alumni work as educators. According to the graduate profile, PVTM alumni are also projected to become industry instructors and entrepreneurs. However, a key issue arises regarding the implementation of the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) curriculum in PVTM, which remains focused on less adaptable skills, leading to concerns about graduates' competencies in the industry. By integrating the concept of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) in the technical schema, graduate competencies are expected to be strengthened and better recognized in the industry. This study aims to design an OBE-integrated curriculum aligned with SKKNI to support the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative in the Vocational Education in Mechanical Engineering program at Ivet University. The research employed the Borg and Gall research and development methodology, culminating in a hypothetical model represented by a draft curriculum ready for trial implementation. The findings resulted in an OBE-integrated curriculum draft aligned with SKKNI, targeting the Level IV Welding Inspector occupational schema, comprising: (1) Eighteen study topics forming eight core courses within the program; (2) A curriculum integrated with three key concepts: OBE, SKKNI, and Welding Inspector; (3) Study topics applicable to Merdeka Belajar activities such as independent studies, student exchange programs, and projects; (A survey of 10 expert respondents, where 83% strongly agreed, 12% agreed, and 5% were neutral regarding the draft curriculum's feasibility. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed curriculum draft is suitable for trial implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a virtual reality-based learning model for automotive competence. The study was conducted using research and development method with the following steps: (1) analyzing the factual model; (2) constructing a conceptual model; (3) conducting model validation; (4) revising the model and determining the hypothetical model. The results indicated that: (1) factually virtual reality was still implemented in classical manner without using the right learning model; (2) the conceptual model was organized by incorporating elements of problem solving, flipped classroom, focusing on automotive competence, providing syntax for model implementation; (3) with a score of 85.7%, validators strongly agreed to implement this model, but with some improvements; (4) the concept was improved by providing information about competencies, reinforcing the steps of flipped classroom, focusing on automotive competencies, and clarifying the model steps. In conclusion, a hypothetical model was obtained through the following steps: (1) Preparation; (2) Simulation and Confirmation; (3) Exploration or Virtual Action; (4) Review of Material Exploration; and (5) Evaluation. Steps 1 to 3 were conducted out of class while steps 4 and 5 were conducted in class. This hypothetical model is ready to be applied in further study, specifically in limited trials.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a portfolio assessment instrument based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and the National Higher Education Standards (SN-DIKTI) to support the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program in the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum. The research subject is the Mechanical Engineering Vocational Education (PVTM) study program at IVET University. The research method uses the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), which consists of the stages of needs definition, instrument design, validation, and development. The developed instrument was designed in a five-level Likert scale format, covering three main aspects: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. The results of validation by experts showed a high level of validity with an average score of 0.85 (very valid). Testing was conducted in the Research Methods course involving 30 students, resulting in an average portfolio assessment score of 78.5 (good). Feedback from lecturers showed that this instrument increased the accuracy of the assessment, while students found the instrument easy to understand and use. Abstract

This research aims to: 1) Find out the application of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) based method in Basic Automotive Engineering (TDO) subjects with Measurement Subjects 2) To find out student learning outcomes after implementing the Project Based Learning (PJBL) based method in the subject Basic Automotive Engineering (TDO) with Measurement Subjects. This type of research is Class Action Research. This research was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this action research were 30 class X TKR TKR students at Patriot Pituruh Purworejo Vocational School. After the data was obtained, it was analyzed using the percentage description technique. Based on the results in cycle II, it has been shown that student learning outcomes have increased, this can be seen from the increase in learning scores of students who scored more than 75 by 80%. Student learning outcomes in cycle II have achieved the desired indicators of success, namely students who get a score of 75 or more reach a percentage of 80%. The research results show that: Student learning outcomes and activeness increase with each cycle. This can be seen from the average value of the class in cycle I of 71.54, which increased in cycle II, namely 78.97. The percentage of student completion also increased, in cycle I the percentage of completion was 51.43%, increasing to 80% in cycle II.
