Abstract

Entrepreneurship education in universities is very important for its role today, especially in strengthening the mindset, fostering interest and the ability to compile entrepreneurial planning. Moreover, in the biology department, which incidentally rarely understands the concept of entrepreneurship, it is necessary to strengthen the ability to compile entrepreneurial planning. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the determinants of entrepreneurial planning ability in biology students. This research is a quantitative research survey method with a cross sectional design. The sample of this study was 90 students who took entrepreneurship courses. Data analysis using logistic regression tests. The results showed that knowledge (p =0.007) and the presence of entrepreneurial companions (p=0.001) affected the entrepreneurial planning ability of students majoring in biology. Universities in addition to developing entrepreneurship courses practically, must also be able to provide mentors for students to discuss the business plan they will run.

Abstract

The training and mentoring of Desa Sena’s village apparatus in establishing the Merah Putih Village Cooperative were driven by the national priority of empowering village economies through healthy and accountable cooperative institutions. This study aimed to enhance the technical capacity and regulatory literacy of village officials in drafting foundational cooperative documents, facilitating the legalization process, and monitoring the sustainability of cooperative operations. Methods included intensive socialization and training on cooperative concepts and the latest regulations, technical field mentoring for drafting the Articles of Association/Bylaws and preparing the General Meeting of Members, and post-legalization monitoring and evaluation through group discussions. Findings revealed the completion of comprehensive Articles of Association drafts, the democratic election of cooperative management, and the formulation of a medium-term business development roadmap. Implications underscore improved effectiveness in village cooperative governance and recommend a sustainable mentoring model for replication in other villages.

Abstract

Peningkatan prevalensi penggunaan smartphone di kalangan pelajar telah membawa peluang akses informasi dan juga kekhawatiran tentang dampak kesehatan.pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Swasta Amanah Tahfidz, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap siswa terhadap penggunaan smartphone yang sehat melalui pendekatan terpadu menggunakan ceramah dan video. Pengabdian ini menargetkan untuk mendidik siswa tentang pengelolaan penggunaan telepon mereka secara efektif untuk menghindari hasil kesehatan yang buruk. Intervensi dirancang untuk meningkatkan kesadaran tentang risiko yang terkait dengan kebiasaan telepon yang tidak sehat dan membekali siswa dengan strategi praktis untuk keterlibatan yang lebih sehat dengan ponsel mereka. Hasil lmenunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dalam pengetahuan (p=0,0009) dan sikap (p=0,0102) di antara peserta, menunjukkan efektivitas pendekatan edukatif gabungan dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan digital yang lebih sehat

Abstract

Riset ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk olahan jeruk Brastagi yang inovatif berdasarkan kebutuhan dan preferensi wisatawan melalui pendekatan riset berbasis pelanggan. Ketidakstabilan harga panen jeruk yang kerap menyebabkan kerugian bagi petani menjadi latar belakang utama penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 200 responden wisatawan untuk mengidentifikasi preferensi terkait rasa, bentuk produk, kemasan, harga, dan keinginan khusus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wisatawan lebih menyukai rasa asam manis (65%), bentuk produk berupa minuman segar (45%), dan kemasan praktis dan ramah lingkungan (70%). Harga yang paling populer berada di kisaran Rp 20.000 - Rp 30.000 (50%), sedangkan 40% responden menginginkan klaim kesehatan pada produk tersebut. Produk jeruk yang unik dan inovatif, seperti minuman berbahan dasar jeruk dengan kombinasi rempah-rempah, camilan sehat, atau manisan daerah, dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah jeruk Brastagi sekaligus memperkuat identitas lokal. Dengan mendiversifikasi produk, ketergantungan petani terhadap penjualan jeruk segar dapat diminimalisir sehingga membuka peluang baru di pasar oleh-oleh wisata. Selain itu, strategi pemasaran berbasis asal dan kelestarian lingkungan memberikan daya tarik yang lebih besar bagi konsumen modern. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti pentingnya kolaborasi antara petani, pelaku usaha, dan pemerintah dalam memberikan dukungan teknologi dan pelatihan untuk pengembangan produk olahan. Dengan pendekatan holistik ini, diharapkan produk jeruk Brastagi dapat menjadi ikon lokal yang kompetitif di pasar regional dan nasional. Lebih lanjut, penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi berbasis kebutuhan wisatawan tidak hanya berdampak pada peningkatan daya tarik produk, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi ekonomi yang signifikan bagi petani lokal dan pengusaha kecil di sektor ini. Riset ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya sinergi antara inovasi produk, kelestarian lingkungan, dan strategi pemasaran berbasis digital untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk lokal di pasar yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku saku sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Rekayasa Industri di Program Studi Tata Boga Universitas Negeri Medan. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang bersifat ringkas dan aplikatif dalam mendukung pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang kompleks dan teknis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), dengan validasi oleh ahli, uji kepraktisan oleh mahasiswa dan dosen, serta uji efektivitas melalui desain one-group pretest-posttest. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa buku saku memiliki tingkat kelayakan sangat tinggi dari aspek isi, media, dan bahasa. Uji kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa buku saku dinilai sangat praktis oleh mahasiswa dan praktis oleh dosen. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan gain score sebesar 0,67 pada kategori sedang menuju tinggi. Kesimpulannya, buku saku ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif yang efektif, praktis, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran vokasional. Media ini direkomendasikan untuk diintegrasikan dalam mata kuliah lain yang bersifat prosedural dan aplikatif, serta dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut ke dalam format digital interaktif.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran kontekstual, Desain visual, Efektivitas

Abstract

The trend of a healthy lifestyle is increasing among urban communities, including in Medan City, driving the growth of the healthy fast food industry. This study aims to analyze the business model and factors influencing the growth of the healthy fast food industry in Medan City using multiple regression analysis. Data were collected through a quantitative survey of 200 healthy food consumers and in-depth interviews with business owners. he findings indicate that digital marketing strategy has the most significant impact on business growth, followed by product pricing and product innovation. Healthy food businesses that optimize marketing through social media, online ordering applications, and digital promotion strategies have a greater opportunity to expand their market share. Meanwhile, although healthy food is relatively more expensive than conventional fast food, consumers are still willing to purchase if the product provides clear health benefits. Product innovation also contributes to increasing customer loyalty. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of digital marketing strategies and innovation in accelerating the growth of healthy food businesses, as well as the need for government policies to support this industry, such as incentives for healthy food entrepreneurs

Abstract

The availability of healthcare workers in remote areas is a major challenge within the healthcare system in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the motivation factors and retention strategies of healthcare workers in remote regions through a systematic literature review method. A total of 21 relevant scientific articles were analyzed to understand the factors influencing the motivation and retention of healthcare workers. The study results show that healthcare workers' motivation is influenced by financial incentives, career development, as well as social and work environment factors. Policies such as the Nusantara Sehat Program and special capitation have helped improve the distribution of healthcare workers, although there are still challenges in their implementation. Non-financial factors, such as job satisfaction and support, also play a role in the sustainability of healthcare workers in remote areas. Therefore, more comprehensive policies are needed to ensure the sustainability of programs and the equitable distribution of healthcare workers across Indonesia.

Abstract

The Craft subject in the Culinary Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Medan plays a crucial role in shaping students creativity, innovation, and aesthetic sensitivity. However, conventional teaching methods are often less effective in fostering active student engagement. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in the Craft course and its impact on the development of students innovation and aesthetics. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews with two lecturers and six students, and documentation in the form of project reports and photos of students works. The learning process was conducted over one semester through stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The findings reveal that PjBL encouraged students to become more active, creative, and innovative. The projects produced, such as beaded tissue boxes, keychains, graduation flowers, and braided bags, demonstrated significant improvement in innovation and aesthetics. Challenges such as limited materials and time did not diminish the quality of the outcomes; instead, they motivated students to develop creative solutions. Overall, the application of PjBL proved effective in enhancing students collaborative skills, aesthetic abilities, and problem-solving capacities, making it a suitable method for sustainable implementation in Craft learning.
