Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competitive and comparative advantages of mangosteen farm in Tanggamus Regency. The respondents were 45 farmers. Sample based on the age of the plant, from a number of farmers who have the same age plants and selecting a simple random sampling. The data was analyzed by PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) analysis model. Assumption for the economic age of the mangosteen plant was 20 years. The results showed that the private revenue was Rp164,288,020 and social revenue was Rp397,293,431. Private profit was Rp35,207,465 and social profit was Rp266,725,184. Based on the analysis of competitiveness, it showed that   mangosteen farm in Tanggamus Regency had comparative and competitive advantages, in which PCR values ​​0.764 and DRCR 0.300. Mangosteen farm in Tanggamus was sensitive to a decrease in output production by 20%, and a decrease in output prices by 30%. Keywords: competitiveness, mangosteen, PAM, sensitivity

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) the factors that affecting the number of tourist visits, (2) the economic value of the Slanik Waterpark in South Lampung District, (3) the visitor satisfaction with tourism cost attribute. This study uses survey method involving 70 respondents. The first objective uses multiple linear regression analysis, the second objective uses consumer surplus analysis, and the third uses the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) analysis. Data was collected in June until July 2020. The research shows that the factors that influence the number of tourist visits Slanik Waterpark are travel costs and days of visits, the economic value of the Slanik Waterpark tourist attraction is Rp13,060,150,376 every year, the visitors are satisfied with the cost attributes incurred when traveled to Slanik Waterpark. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the basic cost production of processed coffee in Tirto Kencono Cooperative. The method used in this research was the case study. The respondent in this study was the chairman of the cooperative. This research was conducted at Tirto Kencono Cooperative located in Talang 20 Village, Air Naningan District, Tanggamus Regency. The collection data was conducted in March 2019 and analyzed in qualitative and quantitative descriptive.  The result showed that the basic cost production used full-costing determination method by using assistance equipment and non-assistance equipment, the result was the cost production of four products using assistance equipment was lower than non-assistance equipment in order to gain higher profit than current selling price.  Government assistance had different impacts in terms of the production cost structure particularly the depreciated cost of using assistance equipment which had a percentage of 0,80% and non-assistance equipment of 1,20%.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the competitiveness of corn farming in South Lampung Regency. This research was conducted in Penengahan and Ketapang Districts, South Lampung Regency. The respondents in this study were 71 farmers; 48 farmers from Ketapang District and 23 farmers from Penengahan District. The respondents in this study were chosen randomly. Analysis of the competitiveness of corn farming in South Lampung Regency employed the PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) method. The results showed that corn farming in South Lampung Regency has already had competitiveness (PCR = 0.54 and DRCR = 0.80). The government policies such as fertilizer subsidies, reduction in the amount of corn imports, and corn import tax of 5 percent had protected domestic corn’s farmers.

Abstract

Turmeric has been known as one of Indonesia’s prospective commodity for years. It has great value for food, medicine, and pharmaceutical purposes.  The turmeric production of Indonesia from 2008 to 2019 was tent to increase since the harvested area for turmeric has been extended. This progress indicates that Indonesia’s turmeric may has a great chance to developed. This research aimed to measure the competitiveness of Indonesia’s turmeric in the international market. Competitiveness analysis employs the Revealed Comparative Advatage (RCA) and Export Product Dynamic (EPD). The study suggests that that Indonesia’s turmeric commodity is highly competitive in global market using RCA analysis. Using EPD calculation, Indonesia export on turmeric accid is in falling star position.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the impact of P-LDPM on Gapoktan performances and rice farmers incomes member of Gapoktan in Natar District South Lampung Regency.  The sample of this research includes two Gapoktan’s chairman, and 26 rice farmers from Gapoktan Pendowo (P-LDPM recipient) and Gapoktan Mekar Sari (non P-LDPM recipient).  The data collection was conducted from April to May 2015.  Performance of Gapoktan was analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis; income of rice farmers was analyzed by independent t-test of two samples.  The result of this research showed that P-LDPM gave impact on Gapoktan performance.  This could be seen from the recipient of P-LDPM Gapoktan performance that showed a good performance, in two performance indicators set by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2013.  While, non recipients P-LDPM Gapoktan only showed good performance in one indicator.  Income of the farmer was not impacted by P-LDPM  yet, this could be seen from the results of independent t-test of two samples analysis that showed no significant difference in the average income per hectare between recipients and non-recipients of Gapoktan members.Key words: gapoktan performance, impact, rice farmer’s income, P-LDPM

Abstract

The objectives of this research were  to identify factors affecting tourist visit frequencies, estimate economic value, and identify factors affecting in attractiveness of Angke Kapuk Nature Park.  This research employed quantitaive descriptive method.  The research data were collected in January 2017 using  a survey method.  Sample size was 77 respondents who were selected by using accidental sampling.  Poisson regression was used to analyze factors affecting tourist visit frequencies, travel cost method was used to estimate economic value and Partial Least Square was used to analyze attractiveness of Angke Kapuk Nature Park.  The study showed that tourist visit frequencies was affected by travel cost, visitor’s age, income per month mangrove forest condition, facilities, and services; based on travel cost method,  economic value of Angke Kapuk Nature Park was Rp.10,606,271,602 per year; Attractiveness of Angke Kapuk Nature Park was affected by natural beauty directly. Key words:  mangrove forest, tourism attarctiveness, travel cost method

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence productivity and the profitability of large red chili farming in Way Sulan District. This research used a survey method and was carried out in Way Sulan Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency in March - April 2019. The 56 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method. The first objective was analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas production function with variables namely NPK fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, labor, and seed on the productivity of large red chilli farming. The second objective was analyzed by the analysis using the UOP or Cobb-Douglas profit function, which is a derivative of the production function but normalized by the output price. The study suggests that the productivity of large red chili farming was determined by NPK fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, fungicide, labor which can increase the productivity. The second result suggests that the profit function of large red chili farming is influenced by land size, NPK fertilizer price, and labor wages that are normalized with output prices significantly and can increase the profit of large red chili production.Key words: production, profit, red chili

Abstract

The growth of coffee shop is very fast recently in Bandarlampung with different characteristics that causes various consumer preference.  This research aims to analyze consumer preferences as well as the level of performance and importance of coffee shop attributes in Bandarlampung.  This study used a survey method involving 100 respondents with analytical tools, namely Conjoint Analysis, Customer Satification Index, and Important Performance Analysis.  The research location was determined randomly, namely Bun Kopi, 20 Kopi, Diskusi Kopi, Kala Senja Café, and Rencana Kopi.  The study shows that consumer preferences for coffee shops in Bandarlampung City were include complete facilities, such as cool and comfortable atmosphere, the taste of soft coffee drinks, modern industrialist building design, and fast service.  The study also shows that customers are satisfied with the coffee shop.  The taste attribute has the highest level of performance.  Furthermore the attributes of facilities, services, and atmosphere have less performance, suggesting that these attributes need improvements.  Meanwhile building design attribute is not priority for costumer. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze the impact of El Nino phenomenon in 2015 on rice farming income and on cropping pattern of farmers and to figure out mitigation efforts of farmers to anticipate the impact of the phenomenon. This research was conducted in two villages in Natar Subdistrict South Lampung Regency in August - November 2016. They are Pancasila Village which represents a pump irrigation area and Negararatu Village represents a technical irrigation area. Respondents were 76 rice farmers who were chosen simply randomly. The study used a quantitative descriptive analysis method. The study showed that El Nino phenomenon had no effect on farming income, and on cropping pattern.  Farmers mitigated by increasing the costs of water pump.Key words: cropping pattern, el Nino, farming income, mitigation
