ABSTRAK Kegiatan pembelajran IPA di SD masih berpusat pada guru dimana guru memberikan materi kepada siswa sehingga siswa hanya mendengarkan dan mencatat apa yang disampaikan oleh guru, sumber belajar IPA hanya buku paket tematik saja, kegiatan pembelajaran IPA kurang memberikan pengalaman belajar seperti melaksanakan proses pemecahan masalah yang berkaitan dengan gejala-gejala alam sekitar, kegiatan pembelajaran IPA masih bersifat hafalan. Hal ini menyebabkan hasil belajar siswa rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI sebanyak 31 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes berbentuk pilihan ganda dengan jumlah soal sebanyak 10 butir. Data hasil belajar dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu dengan mencari rata-rata nilai siswa dan ketuntasan belajar. Data siklus I menunjukan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar mencapai 70 ketuntasan belajar mencapai 62,5% dengan kriteria cukup. Pada siklus II menunjukan rata- rata nilai hasil belajar mencapai 74,69 dan ketuntasan belajar 84,38% dengan kriteria tinggi. Maka, penerpan model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas VI. Adanya penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning yaitu siswa berperan aktif memecahkan berbagai persoalan yang dihadapi, pengalaman langsung saat belajar, keterlibatan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, pembelajaran bersifat konstruktivisme, peningkatkan daya ingat siswa dan pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa.
