Abstract

This study aims to analyze the farming conditions and value chain of pineapple commodities in Bangkit Baru Village. The focus of this research includes farmer characteristics, production patterns, distribution channels, and strategies to improve the competitiveness of pineapple commodities through the value chain approach and SWOT analysis. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation involving farmers, collectors, and marketing actors. The results of the study show that most pineapple farmers in Bangkit Baru Village are male, with the majority having a senior high school (SMA) educational background. Land ownership and production outputs are fully privately owned, and farming management systems are still simple and largely depend on family labor. The average farming experience ranges from 10 to 20 years, with the dominant land area owned being 1 hectare. Production costs range from Rp1.000.000 to Rp5,000.000 per planting season, while the selling price of pineapple ranges from Rp3.500 to Rp5.000 per kilogram. The pineapple value chain shows a relatively stable marketing pattern, with established relationships between farmers, collectors, traders in local and external markets, and final consumers. However, product improvement strategies are still considered less aggressive, as there are several weaknesses that may become threats, such as rat pests and unpredictable weather conditions that hinder the production process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the income of market traders at Talang Banjar Market, Jambi City, and to formulate income improvement strategies through SWOT analysis. The research employed a quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires and interviews with market traders. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the assistance of Eviews software, as well as SWOT analysis to formulate business development strategies. The results of the study show that the variables of capital, labor, and working hours have a significant effect on traders’ income, while the type of merchandise has no significant effect. Based on the SWOT analysis, the position of traders at Talang Banjar Market is located in Quadrant I, which indicates that the appropriate strategy to apply is an aggressive (S-O) strategy. This strategy emphasizes the utilization of internal strengths—such as product quality, competitive pricing, and customer service—to seize external opportunities, including government policies and broad market potential.

Abstract

In the contemporary digital economy, entrepreneurial development has become a crucial factor in strengthening national competitiveness. Higher education institutions are therefore expected to cultivate entrepreneurial capacity among students, particularly those from Generation Z, who face increasingly dynamic economic challenges. This study aims to analyze the effects of financial literacy, financial inclusion, and demographic factors on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial intention. The study employed a quantitative approach using survey data collected from students of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Jambi. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results indicate that financial inclusion has a significant positive effect on both entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial intention, while demographic factors significantly influence entrepreneurship but do not directly affect entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurship itself exerts a strong, significant effect on entrepreneurial intention, suggesting that entrepreneurial engagement serves as the primary pathway through which background characteristics and access to financial services are translated into entrepreneurial intention. In contrast, financial literacy does not show a significant direct effect on either entrepreneurship or entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight that access to financial services and experiential entrepreneurial engagement are more decisive than financial knowledge alone in fostering entrepreneurial intention among Generation Z students, implying that universities should prioritize practice-based entrepreneurship education supported by inclusive financial access.

Abstract

Abstract

Women often bear the primary responsibility for managing household waste, facing challenges due to inadequate waste policies, limited facilities, and economic dependence. To address these issues, a community engagement program in Maro Sebo Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, was implemented to to provide mentoring for women in household waste management. The program aims to empower women as agents of change in promoting sustainable waste practices through improved awareness and technical skills in recycling, material reuse, and simple technologies aligned with circular economy principles. Additionally, it focuses on developing sustainable business models that allow women to generate income while reducing household waste. Expected outcomes include the formation of a women-led waste cooperative, increased recycling rates, and reduced waste sent to final disposal sites. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to create a replicable model for other communities, contributing to environmental sustainability and local economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socio-economic characteristics of farmers and examine the influence of land area, selling price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), plant age, and production costs on production volume and its impact on oil palm farming income in Suko Awin Jaya Village, Sekernan District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The analysis methods used include descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis using the Multiple Linear Regression model, complemented by classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing (F-test and t-test). The results showed that simultaneously, all independent variables had a significant effect on production volume with a coefficient of determination (R 2) of 0.836550, meaning these variables explain 84% of the production variation. Partially, land area and production costs have a positive and significant influence on production volume. Conversely, the plant age variable has a negative and significant effect, indicating that older plants tend to have declining productivity. The average income of farmers in the study location reached IDR 12,780,474 per month, indicating that this farming business is financially viable as it is well above the minimum wage standard of Jambi Province.

Abstract

The development of e-wallets, mobile banking, fintech, and paylater features facilitate transactions and expand consumption choices for Generation Z students. This study aims to (1) describe the socioeconomic characteristics of parents of Generation Z students in Jambi City, (2) analyze the influence of digital financial literacy on student consumption expenditure, and (3) examine the influence of parents' socioeconomic conditions on student consumption expenditure. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method and primary data through questionnaires on 156 respondents. The variables of digital financial literacy (X1) and parents' socioeconomic conditions (X2) were measured using the Guttman scale (1/0), while student consumption expenditure (Y) was measured on a ratio scale. The analysis was carried out through validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination. The results showed that digital financial literacy had a positive and significant effect on student consumption expenditure, while parents' socioeconomic conditions did not have a significant effect partially. However, both variables simultaneously had a significant effect on consumption expenditure with a very high model explanatory power. This finding confirms that in the context of Generation Z students, the intensity and ease of digital transactions are more dominant factors in explaining variations in spending than family background
