Abstract

The author's background in conducting this research is the problem of polite character education. The aims of this study were: 1) To find out the Implementation of Polite Character Education for Grade VIII Students to Teachers at MTsS Irsyadul Wathan Nagari Baruah Gunuang 2) To find out the Implementation of Polite Character Education for Grade VIII Students to Friends at MTsS Irsyadul Wathan Nagari Baruah Gunuang. This research is an empirical research using a source of knowledge obtained from observation and also findings in the field, using a qualitative approach. The author's data collection is done by observation, interviews and documentation. The key informants in this study were students and supporting informants, namely principals and teachers at MTsS Irsyadul Wathan. As for data analysis using data reduction, data presentation and temporary conclusions in this study using data triagulation. Based on the results of the study it can be found that, the implementation of character education of class VIII students' courtesy towards the teacher 1. Students' polite attitude in respecting the teacher, 2. Students sit politely and speak respectfully, 3. Students listen to the teacher when talking and do not interrupt the teacher's conversation. 3. Shiva does not offend the teacher. While the implementation of politeness character education for class VIII students to friends is 1. Students say hello every time they meet friends, 2. Avoid hostility with friends, 3. Insult and belittle friends, 4. Forgive each other if they forget or accidentally make mistakes, 5 Advise friends if there are friends who are stingy and arrogant.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kondisi kecerdasan spiritual siswa yang masih jauh dari nilai-nilai keislaman. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan masih banyaknya peserta didik yang lalai dalam shalat dan sering mengundurkan waktu shalat, siswa yang tidak ikut serta dalam pelaksanaan shalat zhuhur berjamaah, siswa yang kurang pandai dalam baca tulis al-qur’an, siswa yang masih banyak berbicara kasar sesama teman serta siswa yang tidak amanah dalam menjalankan tugas yang diberikan kepada siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian deskritif kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah menggunakan observasi langsung ke sekolah dengan cara melihat kreativitas guru Pendidikan Agama Islam mengembangkan kecerdasan spiritual siswa di kelas VII, wawancara dengan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam, Wakil Kurikulum dan Siswa kelas VII serta dokumentasi seperti RPP dan Absebsi Shalat Dhuha dan Shalat Zhuhur siswa kelas VII. Adapun analisis data dilakukan dengan menelaah seluruh data, kemudian melakukan penyeleksian kembali terhadap data yang ada, kemudian melakukan display data, verifikasi data dan mengklarifikasikan data yang telah didapat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas yang dilakukan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki rasa ingin tahu terhadap siswa, mengajukan pertanyaan berbobot, memberikan gagasan dan usulan terhadap suatu masalah, mempunyai daya imajinasi, dan mengembangkan atau merinci suatu gagasan. Selain itu ditemukan faktor penghambat dan faktor pendukung dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan spiritual siswa, faktor penghambat yaitu siswa yang cepat terpengaruh terhadap lingkungan tempat bergaul dan juga kebiasaan siswa atau lingkungan sekitar. Faktor pendukung dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan spiritual siswa yaitu pihak keluarga, pihak sekolah, serta adanya sarana dan prasarana dan respon siswa yang begitu baik.

Abstract

The background for writing this research is because in the environment where the researchers live, many children are of poor moral character, this causes many children in the research environment to be far from religious teachings, such as not praying, not fasting, and other things that deviate from religious teachings. Even though in the researcher's environment there is a place for education, both formal and non-formal schools such as MDA. This is also due to the increasing sophistication of information and communication technology that everyone gets through their respective gadgets whether they are adults or children. Especially for children who get more negative things through these gadgets. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach, meaning that researchers will look at phenomena that occur in society. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative research. The key informants in this study were TPA teachers, while the supporting informants were TPA administrators and TPA students in Nankodok Village. Research techniques to collect data used in this thesis are interviews and observation and also supported by documentation. The collected data were then analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study concluded that: (1) The role played by the MDA Arsyad teacher in fostering morals for his students cannot be said to be successful. Because there are still Ar arsyad students who have not implemented how to behave properly in accordance with the moral development that has been given by the teacher to students. What's more, teachers also have to be even more active in eliminating bad habits that their students get from gadgets. (2) Factors that influence teachers in fostering student morals at MDA Ar-Arsyad consist of supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors consist of parents at home, then motivation and finally the environment. Meanwhile the inhibiting factors consisted of peers and also the mass media. Both have their own impact in the moral development carried out by the teacher.
