Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the skills of using pattern finding strategies in solving mathematical problems in terms of gender differences. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study are grade VIII students of Baiti Jannati Middle School, Sunggal sub-district, Deli Serdang district. The research subjects consisted of four students with high mathematical ability consisting of two male students and two female students. The data collection technique used a problem-solving ability essay test instrument which consisted of two questions and a non-test instrument in the form of an interview. The data analysis technique in this study uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of four stages, namely data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that both male and female students are able to find and use patterns in solving mathematical problems. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is no difference in the skills of using pattern finding strategies between male and female students.

Abstract

The team quiz learning method is tested to see if it improves math learning for Mts Tri Bakti Al-Ikhlas Seputih Agung pupils. This research uses quantitative quasi-experimental methods. This study included Mts Tri Bakti Al-Ikhlas Seputih Agung class VII pupils. For this study, class VIIA was experimental, and class VIIB was control. The practical and control classes each have 20 students. Students took multiple-choice pretests and posttests in this study. This study processed data using normality, homogeneity, and t-tests. Data processing showed that the experimental class posttest> control class posttest (0.539> 0.149), indicating that the team quiz learning method had an impact on class VII mathematics learning at Mts Tri Bakti Al-Sincere Bumi Mas Seputih Agung.

Abstract

Students often need help acquiring information about mathematics delivered in class within a limited timeframe, without the opportunity for repeated discussions or comprehensive review. Additionally, retaining previously taught material might be challenging. Hence, educators must establish efficacious instruction that stems from pioneering pedagogy. One of the advancements is the utilization of educational media. This study examines the existing literature about using video blogs (vlogs) as a medium for educational purposes. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology. Data was gathered by systematically collecting and scrutinizing articles about vlogs as an educational medium published between 2013 and 2023. This research utilized eight papers, theses, and dissertations from reputable national journals or conferences. The materials were collected through the Publish or Perish tool. The research findings indicate that including vlog media in the learning process can enhance the efficacy of instruction and positively impact students' learning outcomes. Thus, vlogs can be utilized as an educational tool for mathematics instruction. The essay provides a comprehensive analysis of the practicality of this innovation in enhancing mathematics education.

Abstract

-In today's digital era, educational innovation is crucial for improving student learning, particularly in mathematics, which is often perceived as challenging. This study explores students' experiences and perceptions of the use of mobile-based mathematics learning media at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level in Pasuruan Regency. Using a qualitative approach, nine ninth-grade students were selected as primary participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and focus group discussions (FGDs), allowing researchers to understand the dynamics of students' interest, engagement, and challenges during mobile learning. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify patterns in student experiences, perceived ease of use, and the impact of mobile media on understanding mathematical concepts such as algebra and geometry. The results showed that the majority of students experienced increased interest and engagement in learning thanks to the interactive features and flexible access offered by mobile media. Students also reported improved understanding of previously difficult material. However, several challenges remained, such as the need for technical assistance and adaptation to new methods. This study emphasizes the importance of a qualitative approach in understanding student learning experiences and provides recommendations for developing digital learning media that are responsive to student needs. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for educators and educational technology developers in designing more effective and meaningful learning innovations.
