Abstract

Green grass jelly (Cyclea barbata) leaves are one of the herbal plants found in Indonesia and have various potential health benefits. This plant is known to contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids that act as antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and help regulate blood sugar levels in the body. The utilization of green grass jelly leaves is not only as a refreshing traditional drink ingredient, but also as a source of natural medicine that is environmentally friendly and easily accessible to the community.This activity aims to increase awareness and knowledge of students and teachers about the benefits of green grass jelly leaves, as well as teach simple but effective processing techniques to produce value-added processed products.The research method used descriptive qualitative method.The results of this activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in processing green grass jelly leaves into products that are suitable for consumption, as well as fostering interest in utilizing herbal plants as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

his research examines the use of plastic bottle waste as a learning medium for water purification practices in the IPAS subject at MI Jami’yatul Mubtadi’in.The researcher also conducted direct observations at the school to see the actual implementation of this media.The results show that used plastic bottles are effective because they are easy to obtain, inexpensive, and relevant to environmental issues.This media helps students understand the concept of water purification concretely, as well as fostering environmental awareness and recycling skills.The integration of this media can enhance scientific understanding, critical thinking, and environmental awareness.Through observations at Mi Jamiyatul Mubtadiin, the children were enthusiastic in participating in the water purification practical.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of sunlight on the growth of mung bean plants (Vigna radiata) with cotton as the planting medium. The study was conducted using an experimental method, namely comparing the growth of mung bean plants that were exposed to direct sunlight with plants that were placed in the shade. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, and germination rate during a certain period. The results showed that mung bean plants that received sunlight grew faster and had more leaves than plants that did not receive direct light. This shows that sunlight plays an important role in the photosynthesis process that supports plant growth. Thus, it can be concluded that sunlight has a significant effect on the growth of mung bean plants, even though using simple cotton as the planting medium.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how effective the fermentation process is carried out by the microorganism Saccharomyces cerevisiae in a soluble sugar medium, and how the sugar concentration affects the volume of carbon dioxide gas produced. The fermentation process was observed using a balloon as a simple indicator to measure the gas produced. The study was conducted with an experimental approach at MI Jamiyatul Mubtadiin, using three variations of sugar concentration: 10%, 15%, and 20%. The results showed that the higher the sugar concentration, the more carbon dioxide gas was formed. This shows that S. cerevisiae is able to utilize sugar efficiently to produce gas in the fermentation process. In addition to providing scientific understanding, this study is also associated with legal, religious, and philosophical values, thus providing a broader perspective on the application of fermentation in everyday life and education.

Abstract

Mung bean (Phaseolus radiatus L.) is an important agricultural commodity in Indonesia, widely cultivated due to its short harvest period, drought tolerance, and high nutritional value. However, the increasing demand for mung beans has not been matched by optimal production, necessitating innovations in cultivation techniques, particularly in water management. This study aims to examine the effect of different volumes of water media on the growth of mung beans. The research employed an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), involving nine mung bean seeds divided into three treatments with water volumes of 10 cc, 15 cc, and 20 cc, each replicated three times. Observations were conducted over seven days, focusing primarily on plant height. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed significant differences (p < 0.05) among treatments. The 15 cc water volume resulted in the best growth, indicated by the highest average plant height at the end of the observation period, while 10 cc and 20 cc volumes produced less optimal growth. Insufficient water caused drought stress, whereas excessive water led to overly saturated media that impaired root respiration. This study underscores the importance of proper water volume regulation in mung bean cultivation to support optimal growth and prevent yield losses.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of using three-dimensional mock-up media to enhance the learning enthusiasm of third-grade students at SDN Ajung 02 regarding marine ecosystem materials. The background of the issue lies in the limited learning media used in the classroom, which can potentially reduce students' interest in learning. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations to understand students' experiences while using this media. The results showed that the application of mock-up media significantly increased student engagement and enthusiasm, which had previously been passive. Students showed greater interest in discussions and collaboration, creating a more dynamic learning environment. These findings highlight the importance of innovative learning media in improving the quality of the learning experience and opening up opportunities for further exploration in the context of elementary education.

Abstract

Photosynthesis is a vital process for plants in converting light energy into chemical energy stored in organic compounds. Light intensity is one of the main factors influencing the efficiency of this process. This study aims to determine the effect of different light intensities on the photosynthesis rate and growth of spinach plants (Amaranthus sp.), which is a C4 plant species.The method used was a quantitative experiment with three light intensity treatments: low (0–10 lux), medium (10–20 lux), and high (>20 lux), each replicated three times over six weeks. Observed parameters included plant height, number and length of leaves, as well as the photosynthesis rate measured using the IRGA method.The results showed that light intensity significantly affected the growth and photosynthesis rate of spinach plants. The high light treatment produced the most optimal growth, with an average plant height of 4.92 ± 0.4 cm and the highest photosynthetic activity. Conversely, the low light treatment caused symptoms of etiolation, reduced vitality, and faster plant death, averaging by the third week.In conclusion, increasing light intensity significantly enhances photosynthesis efficiency and growth in spinach plants. These results can serve as a basis for regulating light intensity in cultivation systems, both conventional and hydroponic.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di sekolah dasar sering kali masih didominasi metode konvensional, sehingga siswa kurang terlibat aktif, khususnya pada materi abstrak seperti struktur tumbuhan. Keterbatasan media visual menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi dan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapan media diorama struktur tumbuhan pada pembelajaran IPAS kelas IV SDN 2 Sumberanyar Kecamatan Mlandingan Kabupaten Situbondo guna meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, keaktifan, dan hasil belajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 28 siswa dan satu guru kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan model Miles & Huberman melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa diorama mampu meningkatkan partisipasi dan rasa ingin tahu siswa, memicu pertanyaan yang lebih mendalam, serta membantu menghubungkan konsep abstrak dengan representasi visual nyata. Media ini juga mendorong suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif, melibatkan keterampilan motorik halus, kerja sama, dan berpikir kritis. Kendala yang ditemukan meliputi keterbatasan jumlah diorama dan waktu pembelajaran. Secara keseluruhan, diorama efektif sebagai media pembelajaran IPAS, terutama untuk materi yang bersifat abstrak, sehingga direkomendasikan bagi guru untuk digunakan secara terencana dan kreatif.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sumberanyar, Kecamatan Mlandingan, Kabupaten Situbondo, dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pencegahan stunting melalui pemanfaatan pangan lokal, khususnya daun kelor. Kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang menempatkan masyarakat sebagai subjek aktif dalam proses belajar, diskusi, dan praktik pengolahan Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT). Pelatihan diawali dengan penyuluhan materi gizi pada 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK), mencakup pentingnya asupan gizi ibu hamil, ibu menyusui, serta pemberian MP-ASI tepat guna. Materi menekankan bahwa stunting tidak hanya memengaruhi pertumbuhan fisik, tetapi juga perkembangan kognitif anak. Selanjutnya, peserta diperkenalkan pada potensi daun kelor sebagai superfood lokal yang kaya protein, vitamin A, C, kalsium, dan zat besi, serta manfaatnya bagi kesehatan ibu dan anak. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi pengolahan Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) berbahan daun kelor, seperti nugget ayam kelor, yang menggabungkan protein hewani dan nabati dalam sajian yang disukai anak. Peserta tidak hanya mengamati, tetapi juga terlibat langsung dalam proses pengolahan dan mencicipi hasilnya. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap positif peserta terhadap pemanfaatan pangan lokal. Peserta berkomitmen menerapkan resep di rumah serta menyosialisasikannya melalui kegiatan posyandu. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal, dengan pendekatan partisipatif, efektif meningkatkan ketahanan gizi keluarga sekaligus menjadi strategi preventif stunting yang berkelanjutan.
