Abstract

There are three research objectives in this research. First, to find out the pre-service teachers perception of using Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK)-based media in their teaching practice. Second, to explore technological content knowledge TCK-based media which pre-service teachers used in their teaching and learning. Third, to describe the challenges that the pre-service teachers face in practice teaching experience. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research consists of 25 pre-service teachers. The data of this research were collected by using questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire consisted of closed-ended questions using a Likert scale to measure participants' perceptions related to TPACK implementation. The responses from the questionnaire were analyzed using pie charts to visually represent the distribution of responses. Additionally, interviews were conducted to validate the questionnaire responses and gain further insights into the use of TPACK-based media. The findings of the study indicated that pre-service teachers held positive perceptions of TPACK-based media. They reported implementing TPACK-based learning approaches, successfully overcoming design challenges, and observing improved student engagement and comprehension. The study underscores the importance of technological content knowledge (TCK) utilized by pre-service teachers during their teaching experience. By examining the development and practical application of TPACK, the research aims to contribute to the design of professional development programs that enhance pre-service teachers' technical pedagogical knowledge.

Abstract

Non-native students often experience difficulty to learn pronunciation which then affects their speaking ability. On the other hand, proper communication requires proper pronunciation as well. However, todays technological advancement provides an alternative to aid pronunciation mastery, one of which is in the context of mobile-assisted language learning. This research investigated the effectiveness of Dictionary Speech Assistant in ELSA Speak Application to Improve Second Grade Students of SMP Negeri 6 Semarang Pronunciation Ability. The objective of this research was to find out the result of studentspronunciation ability before and after applying Dictionary Speech Assistant; as well as to find out whether there was any significant difference of studentsachievement in their pronunciation mastery before and after taught using this mobile application. Dictionary Speech Assistant is one of the features or tools in ELSA Speak Application. It is a pronunciation dictionary that facilitated by Automatic Speech Recognition which provides direct feedback. This research employs pre-experimental design involving 34 students as the research sample. The data was gained from pre-test and post-test. The instrument of this research were tests consisting of single-word and phrase test. Subsequently, the data was analyzed by using t-test formula in Microsoft SPSS software to find out the significant difference on studentspronunciation ability before and after applying Dictionary Speech Assistant. The result showed that Dictionary Speech Assistant effectively improves the students pronunciation ability. The main factor affecting this improvement was the studentsinterest in teaching learning process involving Dictionary Speech Assistant. The researchers concluded that Dictionary Speech Assistant is beneficial for students in learning pronunciation

Abstract

This study investigated the stress management strategies during the SEA Teacher program which implemented in teaching. The research questions inquiries: (1) What were the stressors faced by pre-service teachers during the SEA-Teacher Program (2) What strategies did they employ to manage these pressures. The aims of this study were recognized and outlined the pressures faced by these upcoming pre-service teachers during their overseas internship, and clarify the kinds of coping strategies and techniques they utilized. This study was conducted in the Dong Thap, Vietnam. The method is used qualitative approach with descriptive type was employed using questionnaire and interview to collect the data from twelve pre-service teachers who participated in SEA Teacher program. The findings revealed that there was the source of stress which revealed in several key; communication style, pressure of language adaptation, and cultural differences. Furthermore, it focused on the significance of psychological debriefing and organizational assistance in global internship programs for pre-service teachers. Their capacity to handle stress is greatly influenced by elements like social support, readiness, and the pre-service teachers’ ability to reflect on themselves. Considering these results, it is suggested that SEA Teacher program should improve their mental health support. This enhancement could include providing training focused on stress management and developing abilities for effective intercultural communication. Additionally, maintaining steady social support, like mentoring and peer assistance networks, is crucial for aiding pre-service teachers in coping with stress throughout their internship experiences.
