Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at the UPTD of Public Elementary School 124394 Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study used a quantitative approach with a pretest–posttest control group design. The study subjects were 54 students, consisting of 27 students in grade IV A (experimental) and 27 students in grade IV B (control). The research instrument consisted of 10 essay questions (pretest) and 10 essay questions (posttest). These questions were tested for Aiken V, reliability, N-gain, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results showed a significant increase in the average pretest score of the experimental class, which was 32.41 and the control class, which was 54.63. After the treatment, the average posttest score of the experimental class increased to 91.48, while the control class's score increased to 76.41. The average N-Gain for the experimental class was 87.6404% (high category) and for the control class, 47.9874% (moderate category). The data were normally distributed and homogeneous (Sig. 0.674 > 0.05). An independent samples t-test on N-Gain showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), thus concluding that the Discovery Learning model has a positive and significant effect on improving fourth-grade students' Indonesian language learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the collaboration between parents and teachers in supporting the development of social interactions in autistic children in student F at HKBP Tomuan Private Elementary School. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subject in this study is a mild autistic student with the initials F who is in grade VI. Informants in this study consisted of F's parents, homeroom teachers, and teachers closest to student F. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Lexy J. Moleong model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the development of F's social interactions has changed gradually towards the better. This can be seen from F's ability to begin to respond to communication, be involved in several school activities, and begin to show acceptance of interactions with the surrounding environment. The pattern of assistance provided by parents is carried out through consistent communication, continuous attention, and an approach that adapts to the child's emotional condition. Meanwhile, teachers provide assistance through an individual approach, building emotional comfort, and involving F in social activities in the school environment. Collaboration between parents and teachers is fostered through open communication, shared involvement in understanding the child's needs, and alignment of support patterns between home and school. This collaboration positively influences the development of F's social interactions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of role-playing learning model based on folklore on speaking skills of third grade students of SDN 122358 Pematangsiantar. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 23 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. Data collection techniques used performance tests, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 88.70, higher than the average posttest score of the control class of 43.25. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the Sig. (2-tailed) value was obtained at 0.000 <0.05 and the calculated t value > t table, which was 23.613 > 2.020, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the folklore-based role-playing learning model on the speaking skills of third-grade students at SDN 122358 Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media on the beginning reading abilities of first-grade students at SD Negeri 091355 Urung Panei. The problem in this study is the students’ low beginning reading abilities, such as difficulty recognizing letters, distinguishing letter sounds, stringing syllables into words, and low student interest and motivation in reading activities. Based on observations, it was found that out of 30 students, only 9 students (30%) obtained a score of ≥70 and were declared to have completed the reading, while 21 students (70%) obtained a score of ≤70 and were declared to have not completed the reading. This study used a quantitative research method with an experimental design using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study was conducted on first-grade students at Urung Panei Elementary School 091355, with a sample size of 30 students, consisting of 17 boys and 13 girls. Based on the data analysis, the average pretest score was 37.66 and the average posttest score was 87.33. The normality test showed a normally distributed data with a significance value of 0.419 > 0.05. Furthermore, the N-Gain test yielded a value of 0.8147, which is considered high. Therefore, it can be concluded that audiovisual media has an effect on the beginning reading skills of first-grade students at Urung Panei Elementary School 091355.
