Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of capital structure and firm size on firm value with profitability as a moderating variable. This study is a quantitative study using secondary data with a sample of 9 pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data collection method is done by accessing the company's financial statements published by the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data obtained is then processed using the tools e-views. This analysis includes classical assumption test (data normality test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test), statistical test (F-test, t-test and R2 test) and moderated regression analysis (MRA). Based on the results of the tests conducted, it shows that simultaneously shows that there is a significant influence between capital structure and firm size on firm value. Partially, Capital Structure (DER) has a significant effect on firm value (EPS), Firm Size (SIZE) has no significant effect on firm value, Profitability (ROA) as a moderating variable can moderate or strengthen the relationship between Capital Structure (DER) and Firm Value ( EPS) but unable to moderate the effect of Firm Size (SIZE) on Firm Value (EPS).

Abstract

Financial distress is a state of financial difficulty before the company finally experiences bankruptcy. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant negative impact on the financial state of various businesses in the Indonesian tourism industry. Financial distress criteria are measured by interest coverage ratio. The statistical analysis used in this research is logistic regression. The results of this research indicate that partially Return on Assets and Debt to Total Asset Ratio affect Financial Distress, while Current Ratio has no effect on Financial Distress. Simultaneously Return on Assets, Current Ratio, and Debt to Total Asset Ratio affect Financial Distress.

Abstract

MSMEs in Indonesia face fundamental problems in developing business strategies. This research explores the impact of strategic orientation (SO) on business performance. SO involves the integrated role of entrepreneurial orientation (EO), market orientation (MO), and collective orientation (CO) in improving performance. This research also examines the mediating role of CO, MO and the moderating role of EO. Demographic variables are used as control variables. Data obtained from 192 creative industries in Malang Raya with a response rate of 65 percent (124 MSMEs). This study utilizes PLS-SEM methodology to investigate target relationships. The results show that MSME performance is significantly influenced by SO, both EO and MO, but not CO. This confirms the direct influence of EO and MO on performance, as well as the indirect influence of MO on the EO-performance relationship. In addition, this research reveals that the performance of MSMEs managed by women tends to be lower than MSMEs managed by men. This is because the EO characteristics of men are greater than those of women. The implication of these findings is that MSMEs must improve EO and MO. Effective CO needs to be strengthened so that it can make a major contribution to sustainability of MSMEs.
